Chapter 335 A PRICE ON THE HEAD 1

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed, though I could hear faint voices and whispers from beneath the bed and I knew the triplets were playing in the room after destroying our bedroom last night. I turned to the left adjusting myself on the bed as I forced myself back to sleep a little more cause of how tired I felt inside, but I just couldn't. Not when I had to take them to the salon, or better still invite a stylist to take care of their damaged hair.

I finally stepped out of the bed, "Good morning mama." I could hear their voices, they all smiled staring at me. I almost forgot how adorable they were, "Good morning babies." My eyes didn't leave their hair, Leah's one-sided ponytail as she had cut off the other. Kyle's brows were gone, and I wondered how he did that with a scissors. Alex's junior had the right side of his hair cut off, maybe I should shave their hair and teach them a lesson.

But on a second thought, they wouldn't even feel a thing, they're just three, what do they know? "Where's Elena? Have you had your bath?" They nodded, "Brushed your teeth?" They all nodded. "Have you eaten?" They nodded too. Good thing Elena listened to us to feed them at a different time.

"Don't paint the lamp with my lipstick Leah," I said before stepping into the bathroom. Preparing a warm bath, I sank into the bathtub and slowly my mind drifted back to Alex. I didn't see him when I woke up which had me wondering where he's gone to. Maybe he's in another part of the mansion, or preparing breakfast for the both of us, who knows?

I sank further into the tub as I stretched my tensed muscles, who knew Alex had another surprise mansion beneath this one? I love all of the unraveled mysteries that came with that old mansion, and it felt like I could know more about his family if I explored more of it.

Maybe after work, I'll create time to explore the place, since Alex said everything was still the way they were before. Nothing has been touched or changed since their departure. I stepped out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, Alex still felt like a mystery to me, I was yet to unravel a lot about him and I loved it.

.

"No!! It's not true, how did that happen?" Maria asked astounded. The last time they experienced this dreadful thing was with Alex's parents and they swore to never let such happen again. Maria couldn't hold her tears, it hasn't been up to a week since they visited her, she was so excited about Avery's pregnancy and was so eager to see another of her great great grandchild.

She was a good woman, how could nature let her die this way? How can a wonderful gift die terribly? She rarely has issues with anyone, all she wanted was to live as long as she could to see her generation. "She was suffocated to death in her mansion," Alex said calmly staring at a spot. He still wondered who must have done it to her, the piece of clothes in her hands had someone's scent but he still didn't want to believe she could do such.

His great grandma used to be her favorite person when they were together, she loved her so much too. He wondered how he'd spit the news to Hazel without seeing her cry, the last thing she needed was worry. He just didn't want her to disturb herself, especially in her condition. "You're wondering who killed great grandma when you're a murderer yourself, it's quite amusing." She went on to say,

"You and whoever did that to her are similar. Depriving people of their happiness cause of your selfishness, cause of a stupid woman who's not worth it." Alex clenched his teeth together closing his eyes to keep himself at bail. He felt like strangling her to death. He felt like cutting off her lips for disrespecting his woman.

One glance at her he could tell how upset she was with him, he quickly recalled Hazel's words to apologize to them. How could he when that man deserves the death penalty and more if there was any punishment after death? Aurgh... Why did he have to marry such goodness, she's really killing him with it. Getting married to her is enough punishment for all the bad things he's ever done.

On a normal day, he wouldn't think of an apology, Infact, he was always right and didn't see the need to apologize to anyone. He sighed and did what he knew how to do best, bury his conscience deep in his heart. He was cold again, he didn't like this switching, this was not his thing. He's never thought of doing good before, he's always been known as an evil man, doing good is not his thing unless it's his family.

"Don't be another burden Avery, and don't try to turn my maids into killing my wife you will not like my next action." He said stepping out of the mansion before guests start arriving. Talking much about unreasonable things, especially with his sister was not his thing, it was so tiring to do.

While he took Greg to check on her, the man discovered that she was suffocated to death. He wondered the pain and suffering she went through with all of her oxygen forcefully taken from her. He noticed a little piece of cloth in her hands, "No don't sniff I..." Before Greg could complete his words, he had already sniffed it. Greg was scared cause the kerchief could contain toxic chemicals, who knew if her death was nor than just covering her face with a pillow?

Alex inhaled it, only to discover the familiar scent. He knew Beverly's scent any day anytime, what was she doing here? Why was her property found with his great-grandmother? He knew she couldn't just get in here on her own, without the help of an insider. Someone must have betrayed them, she was taking the revenge she swore she would.

The only reason he hasn't found her yet was cause she didn't touch any member of his family even if he knew the little strings she was pulling with powerful men to bring him down. He knew everything going on, he owns this city after all. She was in his territory planning to kill him along with his uncle, nothing went beneath his eyes only that he choose to ignore them having better things at hand. Hazel and his kids.

But she's crossed the line this time, she's done something unforgivable to him.

Chan, he saw her step into the mansion as he stepped out, she said nothing to him as she avoided his gaze. She's been avoiding him since the incident with his father. "I want Beverly found, I'll pay any amount to whoever finds her." He instructed the strange man standing before him. She could have sworn to have never seen this guard before.

Chan couldn't stay to hear their conversation cause she needed to call her accomplice. Why was Alex looking for her? Why has he placed a price on her head? This was not good, this was not a good sign. If he wanted her, it means he's found out she is the murderer, but then why are they not after her too? She was there when everything happened.

"Chan." Maria called when she saw the girl step in, "Aunty, I'll be right back I need to use the bathroom." She hurriedly stepped into the bathroom to make a quick call. If Alex has declared her wanted, it means he has just broken out war, there's going to be a lot of blood bath from now on. She just couldn't imagine what would happen, cause Beverly is not the type to back out either.

She's planned this for months now and is not going to give up till she clears the entire Wilson family for her mother. The one who just died was only the beginning and Alex knows about it.

This time his family is not the only ones involved, Hazel's family too will be included just for her sake.

.

I stepped out of the room and headed to the dining room for what seemed like a late breakfast. "Elena, prepare the kids, I'm taking them to the salon to get their hair done." I sat at the table and watch her take them away. I lost all of my appetites just staring at the food on the table, plus the way everyone acted around me was suspicious.

They acted scared around me and I wondered what was going on, my maids are usually not this scared around me so why were they acting strangely today?

"Where is my husband Gaius? I need to see Alex." I asked. "W... Well he left early this morning without a word to anyone." He stuttered, why was he stuttering? "Are you alright Gaius? What's going on?"...
