Lucas stayed in his position and looked at the lady he had just called Elmesia with a smile.
Elmesia was in shock when she was called out. She thought that Lucas didn't know about her true identity. She thought she was the one who was tricking him by putting up an act. But in the end…
Elmesia dropped her act and asked in a calm tone to Lucas, "so you knew about me?"
"Yes." Lucas stopped smiling and said in an indifferent tone.
Noticing his indifferent tone again, Elmesia was surprised. Despite knowing who she was, he still was behaving like he didn't care about her at all.
But hiding her true emotions, she asked him in the same calm tone as before, "then why did you act like you didn't know me?"
Lucas shrugged and said, "who knows?"
Elmesia wasn't happy with this response. She walked close to him and looking him in the eyes, she said, "you know I could kill you right here and now if I wanted to, right?"
Lucas didn't avert his gaze and said looking back into her green eyes, "you can."
"You're not denying it?" Elmesia asked, a bit confused.
She thought Lucas was someone strong and was very prideful. She didn't think that he would actually agree with her. This surprised her.
"No. If you want to kill me, go ahead. If not, I am gonna leave. I need to infiltrate the caravan." Lucas broke eye contact with her and started walking back towards the caravan at a leisurely pace.
For the third time Elmesia was dumbfounded as well as surprised with Lucas's actions. She didn't understand what was making him be so confident.
She was a Disaster Class entity, you know? She could topple many kingdoms at once if she so wanted to.
But this guy, the one walking leisurely in front of her, despite knowing her prowess was so carefree, it was as if he didn't care even the slightest about it.
Elmesia was the Empress of Sorcerer's Dynasty Sarion and no one has ever ignored her or taken her lightly like the guy in front of her did.
It greatly offended her!
She ran behind Lucas once again and held his hand after reaching him. She made him turn and look at her and said,
"Why are you not fearing me? I maybe an Elf, but that doesn't change the fact that I am a Disaster Class entity, an upper echelon one at that."
Lucas looked her in the eyes and said with the same indifference as before, "what's there to fear for? If I am weak, I'll get killed. That's the law of nature. Only the fit survives. If you want to kill me, feel free. It's not like I can stop you anyway."
His response annoyed Elmesia. Especially his indifferent tone. But for some reason, she didn't want to stop listening to him speak.
She obviously had no plans on killing him. He definitely was much weaker than her and she could easily kill him, but her instincts were telling her to not do it. Her years of experience was screaming at her that if she would do that, she would greatly regret it.
It was best to befriend this person rather than kill him or make an enemy out of him. This was what her instincts said to her.
Elmesia decided to drop the topic of talking about powers and everything else and decided to just have a normal conversation with Lucas.
She said to him in a calm tone, "you want to infiltrate the caravan right? You are doing that just to get to Blumund right? You don't need to take so much pain in doing so. Give me the robes and pendant and I'll safely get you to Blumund in the caravan."
Lucas looked at her and said with the same indifference as before, "no."
"What!?" Elmesia was shocked hearing his response. She had lost count by now with how many times she had been either surprised, shocked, or dumbfounded.
For so many years, she had led a calm and peaceful life, but now within just a matter of minutes, she had gotten so many surprises and shocks that she definitely wouldn't need any entertainment for the coming tens of years.
Elmesia got angry and ran behind Lucas again. She arrived in front of him and once again blocking his path, she said in a slightly angry tone and her brows knitted,
"Why are you acting like this? Don't you just want to go to Blumund? I told you right that I'll get you there. Then why aren't you giving me that back and listening to me?"
Lucas simply said, "why should I listen to you? What assurance can you give me? What if you took the robes and pendant and ran away? How will I reach Blumund then?"
Elmesia's angry rose hearing that. She was an Empress damn it! Nobody has ever doubted her as much as Lucas had just done.
But she closed her eyes and tried to calm herself down. Being so angry wasn't befitting of her as an Empress.
A few seconds later, she opened her eyes, only to see Lucas having left and walking past her and at a good distance.
Her anger rose again and she ran behind him while yelling, "YOU! I AM GONNA KILL YOU!"
Lucas didn't reply and continued to walk in a leisurely pace.
A few seconds passed while he did so but he didn't feel any attack happening in on him. He simply didn't care as to why it didn't happen and continued to walk towards the caravan.
Soon, a few more seconds later, Elmesia ran towards him again and came in front of him. This time however, there was a change in her expression.
She had tears in her eyes and said sniffing, "sniff… why are you ignoring me like this? What did I do to you? Why are you treating me like this?"
Lucas ignored her again and walked past her. He had better things to do than to deal with her drama.
"Hey! Hey! Don't leave me like this!" Elmesia ran behind him again.
She walked in front of him again and wiping her face, she said, "alright, you win. I won't act anymore. Now tell me, why are you doing this? And what do you want?"
Lucas knew the crying part was an act. He also knew the reality of the current part. He ignored her again and walked past her.
Elmesia got pissed again and this time, instead of politely asking him things, she sealed his movements and coming in front of him, asked,
"What do you want!? Answer me! And why are you acting like this!?"
