Chapter 4

Baker filed his papers, sliding them into his notes folder. Class was only halfway done, and yet they learned the entire alphabet. His brain must not be working correctly, because he didn't get anything. "Ok, I'm going to have you guys get into groups of 6, and we're going to play a little game, ok?" Hisoki says,  Baker silently groaning. If this game is about things they learned today, then Baker would be utterly, and drastically screwed. However, he still politely nods like the rest of the class.  

"Ok, then. Let's get started." Yoshi has already stood up, and is making his way to Baker. Wait- why him?! He smiles, sitting down in the seat beside him. There weren't that many people in this class, only 7, which was actually pretty good. "Hey." Yoshi says, waving at Baker. Baker, obviously, waved back. "Hey." Wafi walks up to them, sitting down in front and turning his chair. "Sup." Yoshi gags, rolling his eyes. "This is why Wafi can't get a boy or a girl to date him." Baker giggles quietly, a soft smile obvious on his face. Mago walks up to them, sitting on a desk, similar to Hisoki. "Hey losers, thought you might feel better with me here." He says, though he had a small smile. 

Kai was typing something on his phone while walking over to them, almost bumping into a chair. Wafi takes the phone, shutting it off. "This is why the older generation think they're smarter than us." He grumbles, pulling up a chair for Kai. Baker stands up, looking around the room. They were missing a person. "Harley! Come join our group." Baker shouted, gesturing the boy over. Harley visibly sighed, but walked over to them.

"Hey." He says simply, sitting down next to Baker. "Hey." Kai replied. He sighed, sitting next to Mago. "What are we supposed to be doing?" Yoshi asked, looking up towards Hisoki Baker did the same. He was on his computer, typing something, and chewing on his lip. Baker looked away. "Come on, it's a game. We should be happy that he didn't give us anything. This class sucks." Baker quietly listened to Harley's rant, Wafi only shaking his head. "No, it doesn't. Hisoki is actually a pretty cool teacher." He says with a shrug.

Hisoki walked over to them, setting out a stack of papers.Hisoki, can you help me on the classwork if I stay after school?" He seems hesitant by Baker's sudden request. He looks down at his watch, before back up. "Yeah, of course." He says with a smile, before walking over to the other group. Baker silently cheered, before going back to the papers. "What exactly are we going to be doing?" Harley asked, grabbing a sheet of paper.

The sheet of paper was a score card, with the title being Casino Games. Yoshi hums. "I guess we're playing American games." He says, looking up at Kai. He leans back in his chair.  Harley raised his hand. "Hisoki, can I leave early?" The professor looked up at him. He had cards in his hands. "You sure you wanna do that? I saw your GPA, a five point o. It's sad that if you walk out of this classroom I'm going to have to give you a fail." Hisoki sat a pack of game cards as Harley shrugged to answer. "What- you can't do that!" The teacher shrugged, a smirk obvious on his face. Baker could tell Harley wanted to smack that smirk right off. 

"Actually, I very much can." He says, a smile on his face. Harley huffed, turning back in your seat. "I'm gonna get the school board!" Yoshi poked Harley, getting his attention. "Come on, let's just do it. It'll be easier." Harley glares at the teacher, who seemed shockingly calm, before huffing and grabbing the game cards. "Fine, whatever." He muttered. Ok, wow. It was obvious he didn't like the class, but wow. 

"Come on Har-Har-Snuggles-Cutie-Pie-Sweettart-Pineapple-Cider-Buttercup,  I know you would never leave me, right?" Wafi asked, leaning on Harley's shoulder. He shrugged the boy away. "Don't touch me, and don't call me that." Wafi frowns, huffing and looking sad. "But- but Har-Har, I remember when we first fell in love. It was a cool winter day-" "I have a girlfriend, and stop calling me that." Kai scoffs, rolling his eyes. "Your girl really likes you, even with that attitude?" Yoshi hit Kai in the side.

"Come on, Harley. At least try not to have such a bad time. Look on the bright side, you can have so much fun with your friends!" Yoshi says happily, watching as Harley silently passes out the cards. "You're not my friend." He says as an instant reaction, reaching over to give the cards to Mago. "Ok, first off. Babe, that hurts. Second off, rude." Harley looked over at Wafi, and Baker could tell he was mentally killing the boy. 

"Come on, let's just have some fun." Baker said, and he feels like that was the first time he had said anything today. Yoshi nodded, looking at his cards. "Yeah, let's just have some fun and play games. We are so lucky we get to have fun in this class." He says happily, looking at his cards. Kai hums, and the group goes silent, all looking at the different cards that they have.
