The scenery outside the limo window was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Towering skyscrapers, bustling markets, and flashing neon lights that filled the streets with an electric glow. It was like something out of a sci-fi movie. I couldn't help but stare in awe.
But my attention was quickly diverted by Amir's boasting. "You see, my dear," he said, addressing Marla, "I have so much money in BasedBux that I could buy my own state. The Americans have offered me a small one, mind you, but still, it's quite impressive."
I couldn't help but be skeptical. "But sir, Maine and California don't even border each other," I pointed out.
Marla elbowed me sharply in the side. "Be more respectful," she whispered under her breath.
Amir merely chuckled. "Ah, my dear. You must learn to think bigger. With enough money, anything is possible."
