The city was drenched in rain, and the sound of the torrential downpour filled the empty streets. Amidst the chaos, a lone figure stood outside the grand entrance of the city's main hospital.
A young woman dressed in black scrubs and a surgical head cap, eyes fixed on the rhythmic beat of the raindrops. As the storm grew stronger, she couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over her despite the urgency of her mission. Little did she know that the events of the dawning day would change her life forever.
๐๐๐
The sound of Feyre's name pulled her away from the rain-covered grounds, and she turned to see Emily, a young nurse with kind eyes, standing at the Hospital's entrance.
"The Head-Doctor wanted to inform you that your shift is over, and you can have the day off tomorrow." Emily trailed off as she offered Feyre a smile.
"Thanks Em, if you need me you know where to find me." Feyre offered her a forced smile.
She was tired, her shift had just ended after a long 12 hours.
Emily smiled and disappeared down the hall, Feyre turned back to the rain.
She loved her job as a neurosurgeon! but it was demanding. Long hours, little sleep, and the constant pressure of knowing that one mistake could mean the difference between life and death. But she wouldn't trade it for the world.
Except perhaps โฆ Traveling. Feyre would love to travel and see the world, experience new cultures and try different activities.
But she couldn't. Not after what happened.
After gathering her things, the Neurosurgeon stepped outside and took another moment to appreciate the rain. She loved the way it felt on her skin and the way it made the world seem so fresh and clean.
As she approached her front door, Feyre couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The rain had soaked her to the bone, and she was looking forward to the warmth and comfort of her home.
After fumbling with the keys for a moment, her numb fingers struggled to find the right one. Finally, with a satisfying click, the door swung open.
She stood on the threshold for a moment, taking in the beauty of the rain as it fell from the sky. The sound of raindrops on the leaves and the smell of petrichor filled her senses, offering a moment of respite from the constant chaos of her life.
But as the chill of the rain began to seep into her very bones, the Neurosurgeon knew it was time to head inside.
With a quick flick of her wrist, she summoned a small burst of magic. The lights of the house flickered to life, illuminating the cozy space with a warm glow. she could feel the heat radiating from the bathtub, beckoning her to come closer.
Not that she could do much with that little magic except house chores. Magic disappeared from the world 800 years ago, after the Witch's trial.
Feyre walked into her bathroom, and stripped off her scrubs as she stepped into the warm embrace of the bathtub, she let out a soft sigh of relief. The hot water felt like heaven on her aching muscles, soothing away the tension that had built up over the long shift. She closed her eyes, letting her mind wander as she soaked in the water.
But even in the peaceful solitude of her bathroom, she couldn't escape the memories that haunted her, day and night. The memories of that fateful incident, the one that had forced her to flee and start a new life on this island.
she shook her head, trying to push the memories away. she didn't want to think about it, didn't want to dwell on the past.

Once again she flicked her fingers and looked in the direction of her bedroom, a book came floating till it sat right in the palm of her hand.
She let out a soft sigh, her eyes scanning the words on the page. The book was a welcomed escape from the reality of her life. It wasn't a medical book or a fictional story, but rather a piece of literature that spoke to her soul in a way that few things could.
As she turned the pages, a particular paragraph caught her attention. It was beautiful, yet painfully raw in its honesty.
The words resonated with her, stirring up emotions that she had long buried deep within herself. Love was something she had always longed for, but it seemed like an unattainable dream.
She let out a small giggle, the sound echoing through the quiet room. "Let's bring back romanticism," she said to no one in particular. "I'm tired of trying to be rational. We're all dumb and just want to be loved."
After about an hour of soaking in the tub, Feyre finally got dressed and headed to the kitchen to prepare her dinner.
As her dinner cooked, she walked back to her room to brush her hair. As she looked at her reflection in the mirror, she couldn't help but feel a sense of weariness. The dark circles under her eyes a constant reminder of the life she left behind, of the dreams that she had given up.
She took a deep breath, trying to shake off the melancholy that had settled over her and started brushing her long silver hair.

The rain continued to pour outside, the sound of it pattering against the windowpane a soothing lullaby to Feyre's troubled mind. Glancing at the clock, she noted that it was already 11:21am. She let out a soft sigh, feeling the weight of the past week weighing heavily on her heart.
Sitting on the hardwood floor in front of the porch window she ate her dinner as she watched the tiny droplets of rain raced down the glass. It was in moments like these, when she was alone with her thoughts, that the memories came flooding back. Memories of her parents, her uncle, and her father figure โฆ
As if those memories had a heart of their own that beat only at night.
But Feyre refused to let them win. "Don't play games with me," she whispered, holding her head in her hands. "I am stronger than this. Everything that crumbled and broke away has made me who I am today. I am a child of the stars, my destiny is written in the constellation." It was a mantra she repeated to herself often, a way to keep the demons at bay.
It was the same scenario everytime she returned home. Every night when she sat alone in her house, her feelings would crawl out, starved, as she fights them vigorously to keep them contained till she falls asleep.
As she crawled into bed and turned off the lights, her eyes fell on a picture on her nightstand. It was a photo of her as a young girl, smiling brightly next to a blurry figure of a man. His features were indistinguishable, it appeared that he stumbled over something just as the picture was being captured, leaving his face a blur of color.
Feyre smiled faintly, memories of a happier time flashing before her eyes. "Goodnight," she whispered to the photo, before drifting off to sleep. Though the past may haunt her, Feyre refused to let it define her future.
Feyre tucked the covers over herself and closed her eyes, letting herself drift off to sleep. She dreamed of faraway lands and new adventures, and for a brief moment, she could finally breathe without suffocating, forgetting all about her troubles.

The morning sun peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow on Feyre's little porch garden. A gentle breeze rustled through the dandelions, their fluffy heads bobbing in the wind. Feyre's eyes flew open as she stirred in her bed, her dreams of a burning castle and a heart-piercing scream still fresh in her mind.
With a deep breath, she pushed the nightmare aside and rose from her bed. The world outside was too beautiful to waste on fear and worry. Feyre moved with purpose as she made her way to the bathroom, her mind focused on the day ahead. She splashed her face with cool water, feeling it wash away the last remnants of her nightmare. As she brushed her teeth, she took a moment to survey herself in the mirror. She looked tired, but determined.
As she dressed, Feyre chose a pair of wide-leg jeans, their soft fabric comfortable against her skin. She pulled on a lavender cropped button-down cardigan over a white t-shirt. Pastels had a special place in her heart.
She adjusted her beloved necklace before heading out.
The morning air was chilly, and Feyre could feel the dampness from yesterday's rain still clinging to her skin. She rubbed her arms, trying to warm herself up. She didn't want to catch a cold, not when there was so much to do.
She brewed herself a cup of tea before leaving. Although the Neurosurgeon's life was demanding, she rarely consumed coffee, except in absolute necessity.
With a deep breath, Feyre grabbed her bag and headed out the door. She was determined to make the most of this day, to leave her fears behind and embrace the beauty of the world.

"We've arrived at Panacea Island, Captain," Bepo announced, his voice ringing with excitement. "The locals say the log pose will set in about four days."
Trafalgar Law nodded, his mind already racing with plans and strategies. "Excellent work, Bepo. Gather the crew and head out to restock on food and medical supplies. I've ordered Sachi to make a list of everything that's missing."
There was a hint of annoyance in Law's voice, a reminder to his crew that they needed to be on top of their game. They were pirates, after all, and their survival depended on their ability to stay one step ahead of their enemies.
Bepo saluted, his fuzzy paw raised in respect. "Aye aye, Captain," he said before withdrawing to carry out his orders.
Law made the decision to leave the confines of the submarine and venture out into the world above. As he made his way in the corridors and stepped through the door of the dock, a blast of cold sea air hit him, causing him to close his eyes and take a deep breath.
When he opened them again, Law couldn't help but be thrilled by the scenery. Rolling hills of green stretched out as far as the eye could see, and the distant hum of the city could just be heard on the breeze. He realized that being cooped up in the submarine for weeks on end had taken its toll on him and the crew.
So he slung his nodachi over a shoulder and called for Sachi, Penguin, and Bepo to join him on his trek. Then, without hesitation, he leapt from the submarine and landed with a soft thud on the harbor below.
As they made their way towards the city, the silence was broken by Sachi's enthusiastic voice. He turned to the Captain, his eyes shining with excitement. "Captain, you won't believe it. This island is a treasure trove of medicinal herbs," he said, his voice rising with enthusiasm. "The western side is covered in a dense forest that's home to all kinds of rare and exotic plants. It's no wonder they're the number one medicine exporters in the Grand Line!"
Penguin, who seemed to share Sachi's excitement, quickly interjected, "Could we go explore this forest later on? We have four days before the log pose sets."
Law could sense the restlessness of his crew after weeks of being cooped up in the submarine. "We could check it out later in the afternoon, but first I need to find the library," he replied in a neutral tone.
He could see Sachi and Penguin fistbump each other out of the corner of his eye, and he couldn't help but smirk. It was clear that his crew was eager for some action, and Law was determined to make the most of their time on the island.

Feyre sat on the grassy shore, the salty breeze of the sea caressing her cheeks as she dipped her brush into the watercolor palette. She was lost in the moment, her sketchbook filled with the vibrant hues of the ocean waves. For a brief moment, she allowed herself to forget her responsibilities and simply bask in the beauty of the world around her. But as much as she wanted to stay there forever, she knew that she couldn't. Duty called, and she had responsibilities to attend to. With a sigh, she closed her sketchbook and rose to her feet, her eyes lingering on the endless expanse of the sea. As she made her way back to the world of reality, she carried with her the memories of the tranquil moment, a reminder that there was always beauty to be found in the midst of chaos and responsibility.
๐๐๐
Feyre had been sitting by the sea for hours, soaking up the tranquility of the waves crashing against the shore. She had spent the morning doing everything she had been waiting all week to do - she read for a while, wrote a bit, and even painted a picture of the sparkling waters that stretched over the horizon. Now, she lay on her back, staring up at the clear blue sky. As she looked up, she noticed the noon moon peeking through the clouds. She couldn't help but laugh at the sight, feeling a sense of kinship with the celestial body. "Well, aren't you a curious one," she said to the moon, grinning widely. "Coming out in the clear sunlight to see what I'm up to." She felt a sense of anticipation building within her, a feeling that something was about to happen. "My gut tells me that something will happen today," she said, addressing the moon directly. "And you know my gut never lies." As if in agreement, the waves crashed louder against the shore, sending a spray of salty mist into the air. Feyre's amusement only grew, and she spoke again, her tone light-hearted and carefree. "Don't worry," she said, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "I'll be safe."
Feyre gathered her belongings and made her way back home, her heart light and her mood buoyant. She decided to take the longer route through the forest, her atoms almost singing as she reached the edge of the forest. Being surrounded by nature always offered her a sense of safety and peace, and as she walked she couldn't be more grateful for the thick forest that made her island the number one exporter of medicinal herbs in the grand line. The sunlight couldn't penetrate the thick canopy of leaves, casting a cool shade over the forest floor.
Feyre was humming to herself, enjoying the serenity of the forest, when her reverie was suddenly shattered by the sound of voices in the distance. At first, she thought it was just chattering, but as she drew closer, she realized that it was an argumentโ and it was growing more heated by the moment. Fear gripped her heart as she switched into doctor mode, rushing towards the source of the commotion.
Maybe someone fell in the water eye.
The forest grew darker as she descended deeper and deeper into its heart, the sound of the argument louder with each step. Finally, she burst through the foliage and widened her eyes.
Two men in white jumpers stood on the edge of the water, while a massive polar bear in an orange jumper struggled in the water, its panicked cries filling the air. The two men took note of her arrival and simply stared at her, their faces twisting into panic.
One wore a hat that covered his hair and half his face, while the other wore an oversized cape and sunglasses.
Feyre quickly scanned them and saw the unmistakable emblem of a jolly roger.
Her heart stopped.
pirates.
She slowly took a step back as they took notice of her startled face.
"wait!"
"We mean no harm!"
"Our friend fell in the water and we can't find him! It's too dark to see anything!" the man in sunglasses said in a panicked voice.
"If you removed your sunglasses maybe, you'd find him." She turned to leave, but the polar bear's cries stopped her in her tracks. "Captain's going to die!" it wailed, causing Feyre to turn back and face them once again.
Her shock only grew as she realized that the polar bear could talk. "It can talk?!" she exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief. But the urgency of the situation quickly brought her back to reality. "If he stays down there any longer, he'll die," the man in the penguin hat said urgently. "What do we do, Penguin? What do we do!" panicked the other man in sunglasses. The polar bear continued to thrash in the water in an attempt to find their friend.
Feyre took a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever lay ahead. "Fine," she said firmly. "I'll help you find your friend."
The Neurosurgeon's heart raced as she prepared to dive into the water to save the pirate captain. She couldn't just stand by and watch as someone died. As a doctor, saving lives was her daily mission, but as a human, she couldn't let anyone perish when she had the power to save them.
Without a second thought, she dropped her bag to the ground and began unbuttoning her cardigan. She kicked off her shoes and let out a fierce warning to the pirates before discarding her bandana and letting her hair cascade over her shoulders.
"If you try anything, I won't hesitate to ๐ฌ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ you, that understood?"
The two men nodded vigorously, tears streaming down their cheeks as they thanked her repeatedly. Feyre grunted in response before diving into the water.
The icy water closed in around Feyre, its frigid embrace almost taking her breath away. She could feel the darkness pressing in on her like a living thing. She knew she had to act fast if she wanted to save that Captain's life.

Closing her eyes, Feyre focused all her energy, reaching out with her senses in search of any sign of the captain's aura.
There, at the bottom, she felt a flicker of something, a spark in the darkness.
Without hesitation, she dove down towards the source of energy. The water was thick and murky, but Feyre pushed through it, her body a blur of motion as she swam towards the Captain's still form.
With effort, she grabbed his hand and lifted him onto her shoulder, propelling herself upwards towards the surface. She broke through the water with a gasp, her hair plastered to her face as she struggled to catch her breath.
As the three pirates helped them out of the water, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at their uplifted morale. The danger hasn't subsided yet. She checked that her necklace was still hanging around her neck before she asked "Are you daft? he was underwater for a few minutes, he's not breathing. Don't celebrate yet." she added in her calm doctor voice.
She quickly lifted his head to open his airway, then began performing chest compressions.
As she worked to resuscitate him, Feyre couldn't help but study the Captain's face more closely. There was something familiar about him, something that tugged at her memory. She couldn't quite place where she had seen him before, but she was certain that he was no ordinary pirate.
Despite her suspicions the Neurosurgeon's focus remained on saving the Captain's life. He had tanned skin, which contrasted nicely with his charcoal-black hair. Two golden piercings glinted in each ear, and heavy dark circles under his eyes spoke of sleepless nights.
Feyre's mind was focused solely on resuscitating the unconscious captain, but the polar bear's worried words were a buzz in her ears. She could feel the bear's anxiety, but there was nothing in her power she wasn't already doing.
After 30 compressions, she checked the captain's breathing, but there was still no response. As she prepared to perform rescue breaths, he suddenly started coughing, spitting water all over her face. Feyre fell back with a low scream, taken aback by the sudden movement.
The three pirates were ecstatic to see the captain alive, but it was time to leave. Taking advantage of their distraction, she quickly gathered her belongings and sprinted back to the city. She had finished her job, and the captain was alive and well โthere was no need to get involved any further.
As she reached her home, Feyre sank to the ground behind her door, breathing heavily and soaking wet. She knew she was going to catch a cold after being out in the elements for so long.
Without hesitation, she stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wash away the grime and exhaustion of the day. Her thoughts drifted to the captain and the pirates, wondering who they were and what they were up to. After her shower, Feyre quickly ate her meal, her mind still preoccupied with the thoughts of the strange men. She knew she needed to rest, but her curiosity wou;dn't let her rest.
Feyre tossed and turned in bed, her mind racing with thoughts of the mysterious captain. As the hours ticked by, she realized she didn't even know the man she had saved. All she knew was that he was a pirate, but that could mean anything.
Her mind raced with possibilities as she considered the nature of the mysterious man she had saved. Maybe he was a ruthless killer, feared by all who crossed his path. Or perhaps he was a kidnapper, preying on innocent children and tearing families apart, or worse, he could be involved in the skin trade.
But then again, maybe he was just a man on a reckless adventure, searching for the One Piece. Maybe he was just like her, seeking a life of excitement and freedom.
With a deep sigh, she quickly got out to bed and headed for her bookshelf. Prying open a drawer, hundreds of wanted posters stared back at her, she took a seat at her desk and started sifting through the stack of papers, tanned skin, a double piercing and piercing silver eyes stared back at her, her eyes fell to the bounty and she gasped.
200 million berries!
What did that man do to earn such a bounty on his head! Looks like he's from the worst generation, as the Marines called them.
Feyre's heart sank as she realized who she had just saved - Trafalgar Law, the infamous Surgeon of Death. She couldn't believe her luck - or lack thereof.
But as she thought about it more, Feyre couldn't help but be intrigued by the fact that Law was not just a pirate, but also a doctor. It was rare to find someone so well-educated in the pirate world.
"Captain of the Heart Pirates," she muttered to herself as she connected the dots. She had seen Law's jolly roger in the newspapers recently. The articles had also mentioned that he was a devil fruit user, which explained why he had nearly drowned.
"Looks like you're not as smart as I thought you were," she noted sarcastically, her frustration boiling over. "Why'd you even get this close to the water if you're a devil fruit user?"
"Whatever," she said with a sigh. "Not like I'll be seeing him again"
She spent the rest of the night poring over newspaper clippings, determined to learn everything she could about Trafalgar Law and his crew. She was amazed by the stories of his surgical skills and his reputation as a formidable fighter.
As the clock ticked past 2 am, Feyre climbed into bed, her mind still racing with thoughts of the Heart Pirates. "This is a big city," she reassured herself. "The chance of them finding me is one in a thousand." With that comforting thought, she finally drifted off to sleep.
But little did she know what awaited her.
