43 Interaction

The day ended with only Leithi, Weigela and Izzy having won their battles. The other three in the class had not won any and Zakum and Valoel had not been given the chance to fight as of yet. Weigela was in high spirits and when they went to the canteen she was approached by Vicar who had many questions.

Weigela sat close to Izzy almost sticking to her like glue, which made Izzy shift up only to have Weigela move closer. Izzy sighed and silently ate her food. Vicar came and sat down next to Leithi who was sitting opposite the girls.

Leithi immediately froze, when Vicar sat down.

Weigela smiled in his direction. Her smile held more confidence than before and she even boldly asked.

" What do you want Vicar?" It was as if she was annoyed by his presence. Vicar frowned, she had never been like this before. His sharp eyes darted to Izzy and then back to Weigela.

" What I want, is to know how you won that battle?" Weigela looked up at him. Her green eyes challenged him and for a moment Vicar almost felt threatened by her, despite the smile on her face.

" Vicar, who don't need to know that. How and what I do is my business". Izzy nearly choked on her soup hearing the sass in Weigela's response.

She saw sparks fly between Vicar and Weigela as the atmosphere became unusually tense. Noting that this might be the best time to leave. Izzy quietly tried to slip out of her seat while Vicar and Weigela were still locked in an intense stare down.

Izzy disliked awkward situations and found it best to remove herself from them. When she was almost out of her seat Weigela's pale hand shot out grabbing Izzy's arm. She tore her eyes away from Vicar and settled them on Izzy.

From the side, Vicar noticed the shine in Weigela's eyes when she looked at Izzy and he narrowed his gaze at her. Izzy felt like crying when she was caught under Weigela's iron grip.

" Where are you going?" she asked.

Izzy chuckled, she really wanted to get away, since Weigela had been overly clingy since she had healed her.

" Uhh, I'm just going back to my dorm. I'm really tired and we have more battles tomorrow so..."

"Okay, I'll go with you",

"No!" Izzy blurted out but then coughed. " I mean no, you don't have to do that".

Weigela smiled brightly, she practically beamed and Izzy almost felt like covering her eyes.

" I insist" her tone, told Izzy that she had no choice, so she relented.

On the way, Izzy began to reminisce about her solitary life back home. Izzy was a middle child with an older brother and younger sister. Having two siblings meant that Izzy had lived a life without her parents paying much attention to her.

She didn't mind it, in fact, Izzy preferred it that way. It saved her the hassle of her parents hounding her to do better in school or make more friends.

Thinking back on it Izzy missed her family and wondered what they were doing now that she was gone.

Weigela seemed to notice the mood Izzy was in. She wanted to talk to Izzy and find out more about her. But, there was a strange feeling radiating off of Izzy as they walked in the darkness.

She seemed very distant at that moment and almost lonely.

Weigela looked at Izzy from behind, thinking that she was fortunate to have met her. They walked back to the dorm in silence with Izzy giving Weigela a brief goodnight and walking down the creepy hallway to her room.

She didn't even notice a dark figure standing in the corner of her room and she flopped down on the bed, depressed.

" Hey Theonymphi".

" Yes," the little fairy responded.

" Do you have parents?"

Theonymphi scoffed " Off course not, we Fae are created from the energy of the world we are pure beings of magic".

" Oh..." Izzy responded.
