After Dinner Talks

Chibs POV

I was just pulling into my driveway to drop Sophia off With her friend when my phone went off telling me to meet at the clubhouse for church. I park my bike and help Soph off and say, "I gotta go talk with the guys they probably wanna talk about all that you unloaded at dinner love. I will see you when I'm done, have Daisy run a bath for me will ya?"

She chuckled at me and said, "Yea I'm sorry about that Da it just started spilling out once I started but it was and abridged version there is still so much more to it than that especially because I couldn't say anything about magic."

I smiled at her giving her a hug and said, "I know love, I will be back just relax with your friend there is extra room for her to stay as long as she needs."

She hugged me back and kissed my cheek before saying, "Alright Da drive safe."

I drove off back to the club house to field the boys questions about my daughter and try to do damage control with Clay cause he will be a hard one to handle. 

I walked into the clubhouse and found all the guys already sitting at the table Clay with his famous scowl glaring at me pointed to my chair wordlessly ordering me to sit as he said, "So you have some explaining to do brother. What do you mean that you have to sign some papers to make her the heir to a family you were kicked from?"

I sighed and said, "You all know I was kicked out of my family what you didn't know mostly cause I didn't know until Soph showed up is that the last living members of my family are myself and Soph. The rest of my family was killed in the first war that was happening when I fled. According to Soph my families account manager knew I wasn't dead so they held the families assets until I could give them a proper heir. So even though I am alive I can't access anything my family held because I was kicked out only Soph can." 

Clay looked thoughtful and said, "Well that explains some of the questions I had. The main question I have is that we have never heard of a war in Scotland so what are you both talking about with all this shit?"

I sighed and thought for a second on how I can explain without giving any information about the wizarding world to Clay then said, "Look the world she and I come from is different it's like a world within a world. Shadow governments run by families old families like I'm talking centuries old. Their are family laws and ministry laws but the regular government laws don't apply. We have our own government and trust me brother you don't want to get on their bad side. They will wipe you off the face of the planet. Good news is Soph now controls 3 of the sacred 28 families so she holds a significant amount of power. Her friend Harry controls another 3 so they have quite a bit of sway. We shouldn't have any problems with her on our side and like I said before she is getting me certain immunities that I can use to help the club with."

Clay just looks at me and said, "That sounds like you are explaining shit but we still don't know anything at all really. I want answers Chibs NOW!"

I looked at Clay and said, "I have told you all that I can without breaking the law brother and trust me when I say I ain't breaking their laws I ain't going to Azkaban prison. I wouldn't wish that place on my worst enemy. I will tell you more after Soph gets the proper documents in place to classify ya as family. Until then I can't say a word in order to keep ya safe. I have no idea who is watching us at this rate and I won't be putting ya in danger. So trust me to keep ya safe while we wait for Soph to handle the shite none of us wanna deal with."

Opie was the one to break the silence and say, "I don't like the idea of putting all that on Soph. She is a women and from her I'm sure shortened version of her story she has gone through some shit. She shouldn't have to worry about protecting us, we can take care of our own and protect her as well while we are at it." 

I looked at Op and sighed but said, "While I appreciate the thought and you wanting to protect her brother. I mean no offence when I say this but she can and will take care of herself. From what she has told me and what I remember from growing up she has been trained by the family to be the heir. She has ways to protect herself and us for that matter, she just needs time to set the wheels in motion. I wish I could be more help to her but the most I can do is sign over some documents confirming she is my daughter and that I was married to her Ma when she was born."

Jax sighed next and said, "I ain't gonna lie brother all this shit is confusing as hell. I wish you could just tell us what we need to know so we know how to protect ourselves I don't like leaving my fate in the hands of a woman even if that woman is your daughter."

I looked at my brothers around the table and sighed before saying, "Look I know how frustrating all this is trust me. I was raised in that world. It's why I left I was never accepted but I will never break their laws and ya know how I feel about laws they are more like guidelines ta me. All but their laws I will wait to tell you until Soph gets the ok from Hermione or whoever is in charge in the US. I can't and won't put ya in danger from them."

I had just finished saying that when a prospect came to the door with my phone it had been going off non stop for the last few according to him so I looked at the screen and saw it was Soph I showed the screen to the guys and Clay motioned me to answer it on speaker.

Chibs: Hello love what do ya need your old man for?

Soph: Funny da, I was beginning to think I was using this phone wrong with how long it took you to answer. 

Chibs: what do you need love?

Soph: I was calling to let you know that Luna may be here longer than we expected. 

Chibs: That's fine love. Did she happen to mention why she was staying?

Soph: Apparently her husband just died he was killed by poachers. I wouldn't think a Scamander would die that way but what can you do. I am going to help her process the paperwork for his death and since he died here trying to protect a Thunderbird nest I will have to notify the local creature protection branch. I'm just glad Newt isn't around to see the death of his grandson. Lorcan and Lysander are taking it hard though so I was hoping you can come keep them company while I help Luna calm down. Poor girl is all alone now Rolf was her only family left aside from the boys. 

Chibs: I'm sorry to hear that love I will be their as soon as I can. Try to get them to bed and have Clover make some hot coco for the boys. I used ta love that as a boy when my nerves got the better of me. 

Soph: Good idea Da I will see you soon bye. 

Clay looked at me and said, "So she is bringing more of her people around then, and we still know next to nothing about her and her world." 

I sighed and said "Luna isn't a threat she is just a widow with two boys who is in need of help with her grief. I don't think you would begrudge anyone that."

Clay sighed and said, "I'm sorry brother your right but I just want to keep this club safe from anyone and that includes your daughter until I know more about her."

I shook my head and said, "I understand that but my daughter isn't a harm to any one. She is here to get to know me and have some paperwork signed, that's all. I just want to know that you my brother's will be here to support me and accept her. You are my family but she is my daughter don't begrudge me the chance to know her because you are paranoid about her. She isn't even from the US she is Scottish and went to school there. Now she lives in London she is no threat to you Clay so back off please. She and I will tell you more after she puts in the proper requests."

Clay sighs but says all right brother we will vote all those in favor of allowing Sophia the chance to be around us say aye all those opposed say nay."

Chibs: Aye

Jax: Aye, She seems cool to me.

Opie: To be honest I would like to pick her brain on parenting tips so, Aye

Piney: Aye 

Juice: Aye

Tig: I wish my daughter's showed half as much of an interest in me so Aye

Clay: And I will say Aye to round it out so the Aye's have it she can hang around but I still want more information. 

With the vote out of the way I say my goodbye's and head for home.
