CHAPTER 49

Scott

How did you know that Carl was the traitor?" I asked Lara as we were walking back to my house.

"When I first met him, I noticed that he was too friendly for my liking, but he keeps sneaking glances at me when I am not looking. So I asked someone to watch over him."

"Those ten others involved with him?" She nodded her head. I balled my fist tightly. Why haven't I noticed it? How could I not notice that there are a lot of traitors among my men, and one of them is close to me? Carl, he's one of those I never thought would backstab me, but he did. How could he? Did I do something awful to him for doi]ng this to me?"

"Carl, he is just in love, that's why? And don't blame yourself for not knowing this, these past few months your attention was all to me. That's why you failed to notice it, so I do the work for you because I'm the reason why you are lacking." She grinned.
