CHAPTER 27

LARA

It was already past midnight when Scott sent me home. My smile is plastered on my lips, watching his car fade away. I laugh when I remember the pet name I gave him, and I can't believe he will be okay with it. That guy is something. I was just teasing him with the DROP pet name, but since he agreed about it. I will call him Drop then.

I unlocked my door and stepped inside, still chuckling, but was startled when I saw Owen, Ashley Cherry, Homer, Jaxon, and Harry in the living room.

"What are all of you doing inside my house?" I walked in front of them, sitting on my couch wearing a serious face. I'm expecting that when I see Owen and Ashley, they won't stop teasing me, but I didn't expect this atmosphere around them.

"What's wrong?" I asked and settled beside Ashley.

"Scarlette, I did a background check on her." Cherry started. 

"And what did you find out?" I asked.
