Being Bad to Be Good

The messenger that Count Agist sent to the capitol had a relatively boring journey. He had to keep the horse at a fairly fast pace as Count Agist wanted this letter delivered as soon as possible. He patted the satchel where the letter was and felt reassured when he felt the letter and seal with his fingers.

"Watch out!" a female voice suddenly sounded from in front of him when he had looked down at his satchel.

The messenger jerked his head back up and saw a woman walking in the middle of the dirt path. His horse was trained to not avoid obstacles so the horse instead tried to jump over the woman.

The woman shrieked in fright and fell to her knees.

Once the messenger brought the horse to a stop and trotted back towards the woman, the messenger immediately got off his horse to help the woman.

"I am so sorry miss! Are you ok?" The messenger reached out his hand to help the woman back up. When the woman took his hand to get up and smiled at him, the messenger felt his heart flutter incessantly. He lost himself in her smile and only came back to when this beautiful woman with red hair spoke.

"I am fine, I am so sorry for not paying attention either!" The woman stumbled into the messenger slightly forcing him to catch her as her hands ran over his satchel, then grabbed around his waist.

"I am so sorry again my good sir! My legs are just weak from fright!"

The messenger's face went bright red when she grabbed his waist and he wished she would hold on for longer.

Sadly for him, the woman pulled back and said, "Oh, it looks like you dropped this." and she showed him an envelope with Count Agist's seal on it.

In a panic, the messenger checked his satchel and saw that it was indeed missing the letter and that the flap was unclasped.

"It must've happened when your horse jumped while you were reaching into your satchel."

The woman put it in the satchel for him, clasped it, then kissed his cheek and said "Be more careful from now on."

The messenger stood their dazed for a moment until he realized the woman had started to walk away from him, he opened his satchel again and checked the contents just in case she was a thief. Nothing was missing and the letter was back with the seal intact, so the messenger just figured it must be his lucky day.

He returned to his horse and turned to see the woman wave to him then walk back towards the direction he came from and thought to himself, "I wonder if I can find her again on my way back."

He continued his journey and took one look back in hopes of seeing her again, but she was nowhere to be seen and thought she must move extremely fast to get out of sight at that distance.

"That was easier than expected!" Lorraina thought to herself. "I wish sis didn't make that deal with that selfish idiot, I'm going to run out of magic and need to feed again..."

__________

When Lorraina returned to Count Agist's room, Lillica had withdrawn her wings, horns, and claws. It's not that she couldn't do it, but Lorraina hated the pain it caused when pulling them out and was afraid of the pain. The fear actually prevented her from doing it. She had to admit she didn't have the determination and resolve Lillica had.

This form could be considered her battle form, the magic consumption would increase, but her passive strength, speed, and endurance would increase dramatically. Even in normal form, Lillica and Lorraina were already stronger than Count Agist, at least as long as they had magic. Without magic, demons were similar to normal humans in their abilities.

While in normal form, their natural magic recovery would be slightly higher than what they would use passively unless they went below a certain point. Once they went below that point, they would need sleep to recover, otherwise they wouldn't need to sleep for days if they didn't use any magic. The two long trips and a dream sequence she's never done before would drain Lorraina.

The spell Lorraina and Lillica used to travel was an extremely common spell for demons called Fade Walk. The advantages were obvious, you could traverse long distances in a short period of time, pass through most objects, and be undetectable in most cases. The disadvantages were that the amount of magic needed would rise dramatically depending upon the distance traveled and exponentially if you wanted to carry something or someone with you that couldn't cast it. Also, you couldn't change your destination once en route.

Lorraina really hated that last part because she had to wait a long time for the messenger as she wasn't sure where he would be so she aimed way ahead of him. She remembered even just carrying clothes from the study to Count Agist's room was almost as draining as her several mile walk just a moment ago.

"I'm back sis! Mission accomplished!" Lorraina said happily to Lillica.

"Good job love!" Lillica patted Lorraina on the head then kissed her forehead.

A deep male voice sounded from behind Lorraina "Welcome back...", then Kayne stepped out of the shadows with a sly grin on his face.

"Oh, he's still here." Lorraina said while pouting. "Can't we just kill him already?"

"Sister, behave, don't you think it would be better for us to have to make a deal with just one than deal with the many that would come to find out what happened to him if he never made it back?" Lillica said sweetly to Lorraina while pinching her cheek slightly.

"Yeah, I guess so, doesn't mean I like it though. Follow me later tonight, I know one of the maids has her own quarters so she'll be perfect."

"That sounds perfect to me." Kayne said with a smile.

__________

Isadora hated it when her brother, Dion, and the others she was familiar with were out of the manor for the night. She was glad to have her own room, which was unheard of for most maids, but at the same time she would feel better knowing the other maids were near.

Dion had told her that she must stay in this room as it would disrespect Count Agist to deny the gift, that and if he ever did call for her she should be as close as possible. Dion still had hopes that she would become at least become a consort of Count Agist's, but when Lady Lillica and Lady Lorraina started visiting, she felt her chances became even less.

She knew she was attractive, but Lady Lillica made even her heart skip a beat and she had never thought of another woman that way before. She felt she could compete better with Lady Lorraina as she was friendlier and she didn't feel intimidated by her, she even thought she could be friends with her. With this thought in mind, she found herself walking past her own room for the night and standing in front of the room Lady Lillica and Lady Lorraina were using.

Isadora knocked softly on the door and waited for a reply.

"..." Silence.

Isadora knocked a little louder and still heard nothing.

"They must be out or asleep..." Isadora thought to herself.

Isadora shook her head and felt slightly relieved that nobody answered as she realized it was very inappropriate for a maid to interact with a guest of Count Agist without being called upon first or have a pressing need.

Isadora walked back to her room and pushed the door open. "Weird, I thought I closed it." Isadora thought to herself.

Looking in her room, she saw Lorraina sitting on her bed. "Lady Lorraina! I am sorry, did you need something?"

Lorraina smiled at Isadora and said, "Nope! I just thought you might be lonely as you always seem to talk about Dion or Agi when we've been able to talk."

Isadora smiled back. "Honestly, yes, but 'tis a common plight when your brother is a knight"

Lorraina giggled, "That rhymed, are you a bard or poet?"

Isadora blushed, "No, it was not intentional!"

Lorraina laughed, "I know, I'm just teasing you! Still, I know how you feel. I feel uncomfortable when sis is away."

"You mentioned earlier that you really aren't blood relatives, why do you call her sister?"

"She was left with my family to protect her from her family's enemies, we're the same age but I feel like she is an older sister to me. She's always been there for me and has taught me so much about who I am, but I was the one who was supposed to be protecting her." Lorraina looked a little sad when she said this.

"Well, to be fair, you would be an irresistibly cute little sister! I can see why she would dote on you." Isadora said with a smile.

Lorraina stared at Isadora, then they both started laughing "I know right! I am cute!" Lorraina said with a big smile on her face.

"I can see why every man, and sometimes women, fall in love with her though, she is absolutely beautiful, devilishly so!" Isadora said with a hint of envy in her voice.

"I know, I love her for everything she is, her voice, her habits, her trust, her beauty, her wit, her embrace, and her sensuality." Lorraina said while looking off distantly.

Isadora blushed slightly when Lorraina mentioned her sensuality. "Sensuality? Does that mean you've..."

Lorraina tilted her head coquettishly and said "Hm... what do you think?"

Isadora's face turned even redder as images of Lorraina and Lillica being intimate with each other ran through her mind.

Lorraina laughed when she saw Isadora's face turn redder. "Ha ha! You are fun to tease!"

Isadora smiled and laughed with her. "Thank you, talking with you like this helps me ease my loneliness on nights like this. If you wish to be with Lady Lillica again though I won't stop you."

"Hey, are you trying to kick me out?" Lorraina said while pouting.

"O-Of course not milady! I am just saying you don't have to stay if you do not want to!"

"Good, because I really like you so I'll keep you company tonight."

"M-Milady! You do not have to!"

Lorraina reached out and took Isadora's hand, "I know, but I want to, I don't have any girl friends unless you count my sister."

Isadora understood her so she just nodded her head.

Lorraina then stood up and started to undress herself.

"Miss Lorraina! What are you..." Isadora stopped herself when she saw that Lorraina was wearing a night gown underneath her clothes.

"Disappointed?" Lorraina said teasingly.

"I just thought you would get cold is all..." Isadora said and then looked at Lorraina's night gown. As a maid she didn't have any cute night gowns, she thought about it and maybe this was why she was never able to successfully attract Count Agist.

"Oh? Do you like it?" Lorraina asked.

Isadora nodded, it was a cream colored silk night gown that showed off Lorraina's long legs, but hid the rest of her body except for her cleavage, leaving a man excited to see what was under it. The thin shoulder straps that held it up made it easy to take off and exposed the soft skin of Lorraina's arms and shoulders.

"Close your eyes" Lorraina said then waited for Isadora to close her eyes.

Isadora heard the very soft sound of cloth hitting the floor then heard Lorraina say "Open them!"

When she opened her eyes, she saw Lorraina standing naked in front of her while holding up the night gown for her.

Isadora became flustered and said, "M-M-Miss Lorraina!! I could what are is that–" Lorraina put a finger to Isadora's lips to get her to stop speaking since she wasn't making any sense.

"We're both women, nothing to be surprised about, but here, take it."

Isadora took the night gown from Lorraina, "T-Thank you, you're very kind Miss Lorraina."

Lorraina frowned on the inside, she hated the pain she was about to cause Isadora, but her sister was correct, this was the safest path for them.

Mini lore dump on the spell they use all of the time to get around.
