Chapter 28

In the middle of the night, the sound of an intense battle resounded in the forest. Logan and Daphne were still caught in a tough battle against the vampires. 

Logan's current appearance was completely different from how he looked when they came here. His clothes were all torn apart and he was bleeding from different parts of his body. 

His opponents weren't any better, but they had lesser injuries compared to him. The two young vampires bared their teeth and rushed after Logan after separating for some time. 

Logan was forced to retreat as he tried to block the attacks coming his way. He had been learning to fight with his fists since becoming a werewolf since he didn't want to always transform to fight. 

"Logan, what the hell are you doing? Transform!" Daphne's voice came from the side. 

Against these vampires, he didn't stand a chance if he remained in this state. Daphne was already aware of this, Logan as well, but he still didn't want to transform since he didn't have a hundred percent control over it yet. He was afraid he might attack Daphne as well if he transformed. 

One of the vampires used the opportunity when Logan was distracted by Daphne's words and scratched him on his face. The fingers of the vampire showed on his face, and the other one tried to bite him on his neck. 

He moved to the side, and the fangs of the vampire sunk into his biceps. 

Growl… 

He growled in pain when the vampire's fangs entered his body. With a quick movement, he grabbed the vampire by her hair and threw her in the direction of the other vampire in front of him. 

After doing this, he growled loudly and his appearance started to change quickly. Hairs grew on his body and his clothes were ripped apart, leaving only his trouser. In the night light, the glowing purple marks on his body gave others a strange feeling. 

His brown hair and shining golden eyes gave off an intimidating aura. He raised his head up and howled loudly before charging at the two vampires. 

The vampires looked at him and attacked as well. 

Logan in this state was stronger than when he was in his human form. With a single wave of his hand, he sent the female vampire that bit him flying. 

The other vampire tried to kick him, but he grabbed her by the leg and threw her to the side. Her body crashed into a tree.

Before he could continue his attack, the first female vampire he sent flying was already back and she grabbed his right hand, sinking her sharp nails into his body. 

Logan growled softly and turned around, biting her on the shoulder. 

He was almost two times the size of the young lady, so his mouth covered her entire right shoulder. With a swing of his head, he sent her crashing into the body of the other young lady who was already rushing over to attack him. 

The young lady managed to keep her companion up after taking some steps back, but Logan's large body appeared in front of her and he threw his right hand at her. His sharp claws hit her on the back, creating a large gash on it and sending them flying. 

He continued his assault on the duo. His speed, attack power, healing, and even defense abilities had seen a considerable increase after he entered his werewolf form. 

While Logan was beating up his opponents. 

Daphne had been able to capitalize on the opportunity Logan's present appearance created and took the upper hand on her side of the battle. The two young men found it difficult to force her back again. Unlike Logan who was still a little bit subconsciously trying to stop himself from killing, she wasn't. 

An opportunity presented itself and she ripped off the head of one of the young men. 

After doing that, she was left with only one opponent who wasn't a match for her. They continued fighting and she killed the other young man in less than two minutes. 

By the time she was done with her opponent, Logan's opponents could barely stand up. Although Logan didn't kill them, they were brutally injured, and one of them was even missing an entire arm. 

'Crazy brutes.' She shuddered at the sight of it. 

Werewolves are stronger physically than vampires, so it wasn't uncommon that Logan gained the upper hand when he transformed. There's also the intimidating aura he was unconsciously releasing. Even Daphne who was two Ranks above him could feel it. But to someone as well trained as her, it wasn't that troublesome, but to these vampires, it was very effective against them. This was the reason she was able to easily take out her opponents as well. 

She approached Logan, and when she got within ten meters of him, he turned around to look at her with his glowing eyes. She paused for a moment before continuing. 

Logan continued staring at her a little longer before turning to look in the direction of his opponents who were sprawled on the ground, unable to move. 

Daphne walked closer to where they were lying on the ground. 

"Going against the rules of the organization is prohibited, as long as you're caught, you will face the death penalty." She said before squatting down. In the same manner as when she killed the two young men, she ripped off their heads. 

She stacked the bodies and set them on fire. 

Logan has managed to get back to his human state, thanks to Daphne using wolfsbane. He only had his trousers which were ripped from the knees down. 

Looking at his appearance, he couldn't help but sigh. 

'I'll have to go home with this.' He thought dejectedly. 

This was also one of the reasons he didn't want to transform. 

"From now on, why don't you bring extra clothes when going out for a mission?" Daphne suggested. 

"My current thoughts." Logan said before helping bring out the people who were still alive. 

After doing that, they set the place on fire. Although it was a little sad for the victims' families since they couldn't get the bodies, it was better this way.

They took the few that were alive to the nearest town, dropping them in a place where they would be easily noticed by people before leaving.
