7 Chapter 7

Today was like any other ordinary day.

Or so I thought.

It all happened when I was sitting in the bedroom folding laundry.

I was bored and was looking for something to keep myself busy.

Suddenly the bedroom door banged opened and Xavier walked in. He came up to me and pulled me with him into the bathroom.

He looked really angry and had a gun in his hand.

I was too shocked to question anything. It took about a minute to process before I opened my mouth to ask–

I was stopped by the sound of bullets being fired.

Xavier opened a door behind the bathroom and walked in.

I didn't  even notice a door there let alone a room

It was like a small version of his study. But instead of the sofa in the corner there was a bed.

He sat me down under the desk of the study and ordered," Don't come out till I come to get you."

He looked me in the eyes as I was pleading him to not leave me alone. I was so scared and had so many questions.

He just kissed my forehead and closed my eyes with his hand.

"Calm down. I will come to get you soon. I promise."

He was about to leave when I caught his sleeve  and said," Please be safe."

He looked at me once again and nodded before locking the door and living.

I was panicking and was getting more and more claustrophobic with the time passing.

I sat there with my eyes closed and praying for all this to end be just a big nightmare.

After about an hour or so I could no longer hear any guns shooting or screams and shouts of people.

I slowly looked up from where I had my head in between my knees.

I heard the door of the bedroom open and froze.

I could hear the person behind was searching the room. I could hear him entering the bathroom and searching as well. After not finding anything he left.

Slowly realising the breathe that I was holding I once again proceeded with the prayers.

After few minutes someone again entered the bedroom but this time he entered the secret room as well.

Still scared for my life I didn't look at who it might be but when the person slowly aproched me and sat in front of me I knew it is Xavier.

I opened my eyes and looked at him with teary eyes.

Without thinking I just jumped on top of him and hugged him like my life depended on him.

He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist and held me closely.

I don't know how much longer we just sat there but soon my eyes started closing and I fell into deep slumber.

This whole thing took a toll on me.

I heard him say something but I was already falling asleep.

I woke up slowly and found myself on the bed in our room.

Xavier must have carried me here.

Speaking of him, his side of bed looked untouched.

I quickly got out of the bed and did my morning routine before walking down the stairs.

I was in one of Xavier's shirt over my underwear.

I didn't really change out of it as I was comfortable and no one would be home but just us or so I thought.

Just as I stepped into the kitchen I saw Xavier and his men were sitting on the table discussing.

Noticing my presence, they turned to see who interrupted their meeting.

They all looked away immediately after seeing that it was me.

Xavier got up and walked up to me and put his suit jacket on me and pushed me behind me so I was not in sight of others.

"Meeting is dismissed. Leave." He ordered.

As they all left, I went around Xavier into the kitchen and started to prepare some food.

I could feel his gaze on me the whole time.

I removed his jacket so not to stain it and it was too big on me,making it difficult to cook.

I set the food on the table and served it to both of us.

I remember how Nat used to do all the things for me. I miss her so much. Maybe I can ask my parents to send her here to help me out as an excuse.

We finish our breakfast in silence and just sit there drinking some coffee.

Usually Xavier would be in a hurry and did not have much time to sit and eat breakfast calmly. It's unusual but feels nice for some reason.

I gather our plates and go off to do the chores.

After everything was done I change into a sundress and some heels.

I went off to confront Xavier about what happened  yesterday.

He was sitting in his study working. He paused and looked up as I entered.

I sat down on one of the chairs in front of the desk and just stared at him. Waiting to see if he wanted to explain anything.

As if he knew I was here he said, " We are not talking about it. What happened  yesterday should not have happened. It's just some rivals who decide to attack. No one will know about this. And you will not talk about it with anyone."

"But why? And who were they? Is it related to the letter that we got earlier?" I asked.

"No more discussion about the matter. They are dead any way."

And with that he proceeded with his work.

That was the only time we talked the whole day.

I was angry at him for hiding things from me.

A few days had passed and it was Saturday today.

I was planning on spending the day outside. Might as well call Bianca or have someone with me.

Asking for Xavier's permission, I went to his study and was going to knock on the door but it opened and Matteo walked out. A girl came out behind him.

She was tall and skinny. Blond hair and blue eyes. She wore a short skirt and a tight shirt with her breasts falling out.

She and Matteo were talking about something but stopped after seeing me.

Matteo smiled and bowed his head in respect. The girl followed after but had a scowl on her face.

"Donna, how are you?" Matteo asked.

" I am fine. How about you? And is Bianca home? I would like to go to the mall with her."

" I am good and yes she is home."

I just nodded but eyed the girl next to him.

Noticing this he quickly introduced," This is Olivia, Don's secretary."

"Nice to meet you Donna." She said coldly.

"Nice to meet you too. I didn't knew Xavier had a secretary."

Matteo's phone rang and he excused himself for answering it.

Olivia was glaring at me and had a scowl on her face.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

Not paying any attention to her I walked around her and bumped her shoulder with mine. She tumbled back but recovered herself.

Smirking I entered in.

"Can I go to the mall with Bianca?" I asked Xavier as soon as I neared his desk.

"No" he replied.

"What? Why not?"

"It's too risky to go out just yet. There are people out there trying to kill us."

"But we will be careful and won't take too long."

" No."

"If you want we will take some guards with us but please let us go. I am bored staying at home for a week."

He looked like he was considering my request. Picking up the phone, he called. After the call ended, Matteo and Olivia walked in again.

"Matteo get some guards. Olivia cancel my appointments and have Matteo handle the important once. I am not going to the office today."

" But sir, you have an urgent metting with the Sokolov's. They have finally agreed to meet up. It won't be good if you aren't present at the meeting." Olivia said.

"Matteo will handle it."

" But sir- " Xavier looked angrily at her which stopped her from saying anything further.

"Do as you are told and don't ask too many questions. If you can't then quit. You are temporary anyway."

"Sorry sir." She stepped back.

"The guards are here Sir. But where are you going?" Matteo asked.

" I am going to spend sometime with my wife."

Me and the others were all surprised by his reply.

He grabbed my hand and dragged me outside towards the car.
