And said plainly to the girl sitting beside her "You and Blaze where never really a good match. He's a bad boy, a rocker, someone who can write songs and shred a guitar. You on the other hand are a good girl, the type of girl that helps the old lady cross the street, the kind that listens to R&B and thinks that environmental sanitation is a fun day at the beach. So my advice Cassie, Forget about that dude. You had sex with him now it's over . You are not gonna call him and He's never going to call you."
"But I can be a bad girl." Cassie spoke out .
"Please..." Fay waved her hand dismissively. "The only thing bad you can do is accidentally throwing a plastic bottle in the trash can instead of a recycling bin."
"But I feel terrible about the way I left last night." Her friend said solemnly as she reached for her cell phone. "I have his number in my call logs maybe I should just reach out to him and apologise..."
"No!" Fay snatched the phone from her and kept in in her jean pocket. "You are stronger than this Cassandra. I believe in you." She rose to her feet and moved away. "You can do it."
Cassie smiled and hugged her best friend. Fay grinned and she sighed. "You're. still trying to get the phone aren't you?"
"Just one text."
"Nuh uh !" She retorted waving her hand. "I'm going to help you save yourself from yourself. No more Blaze."
Cassie slumped in her bed and groaned into her favourite furry pillow. The more she tried not to think about him , the more he kept recurring in her mind's eye . Those midnight bangs , and dazzling blue eyes. His husky voice and that heart melting smile. That body. She wanted to feel the same way she felt in that hotel. Unhibited , free, hot , craving for more of him.
But now it seemed impossible.
————————————
Cassie went about her work after three day but had no interest in it. She had a sweet part time job at the library. She looked after the stacks , while keeping out a careful eye on the resource desk a few feet away where the evil Sandi worked. She was always trying to get her in trouble with their boss ever since Zac, the library hottie that worked next to her , asked her out. Zac was half the reason why girl a trooper to the Library so one could imagine how furious Sandi would be when he passed her and a dozen other girls over just to go out with Cassie.
She worked diligently for a time , reordering books that had been misplaced as well as returned. Once it was 6:00 , The raven haired girl took up her purse and headed home , intending to do some light cleaning around the apartment.
As Cassie was singing to herself while doing the dishes , she heard a knock on the door. Fay usually comes home late and she wasn't expecting any one. Out of curiosity, she set down her plates in the sink and walked over to open up the door. Standing in front of her was Blaze. He was standing causally with his left hand thrust into his pocket and in the other was a single , solitary red rose. He smiled slightly but not with his lips but using his eyes.
"Hey Cass..."
He was greeted by a blast of cold air ; the one made when Cassie shut the door in his face. She leaned against it , her heart beating rapidly as she she tried to slow down her breath. What was he doing here? How did he find her?! Oh Wait...He dropped her off when they had first met.
Stupid, Cassie groaned hitting her head with her palm.
Once she was sure he was gone, Cassie opened her door and saw that he had dropped the rose on the floor. Reaching down for it , Cassie brought it up to her nostrils and inhaled its wonderful rosy scent. Closing the door behind her , Cassie pryed off the card attached the stem of the Flower.
Reminded me of You.
Crystal Lake Sign , 8:00pm Tonight .
Blaze.
Cassie shook her head and tossed the card on the kitchen table and left the rose flower beside it.
If he thought she was going to a ploy like that he was sadly mistaken.
Or so Cassie thought because by Twenty minutes past nine , she was out of the cab that she had taken up to the Crystal Lake Sign and was strutting up the hill top , going to meet Blaze.
The Crystal Lake Sign, A sign in which the set of letters spelling out 'CRYSTAL LAKE' were built , sparking white, almost ten feet tall seated in a curved hill top giving a breath taking view of the city.
She walked towards the hill and saw that laying on the ground was a player and she heard music streaming out of it. Taken in by the song , she closed her eyes and took in the lyrics of the song. It words were deep and the meaning powerful. It literally took her out of the world.
Cassie felt a pair of hands over her shoulder and jumped back in fear. As she attempted to look back , the ledge where she was standing began to give way and crumbled , and she slipped. Falling from that kind of height would mean certain death. She thought for sure , she was a goner , and closed her eyes , Cassie managed to opened her eyes slowly and saw Blaze stretching out his hand to her " Do you trust me", still unsure but something in her trusted him and she held his hands. she saw Blaze hanging over the cliff with her, one hand on the ledge and the other holding her hand. He was breathing heavily , as his eyes smiled down at her.
"Are you crazy?!" She shouted warily. "You could've died!"
"Seems you got my present." He grinned slightly as her eyes widened in shock.
"You planned this?! You..!" cassie spoke but with fear in her voice. he led her into the night , moving wildly as the rockstar tightened his grip on her wrist. "I was going to Let you fall!"
"Everyone needs to be a little crazy at times." Blaze winked at her as he pulled himself up . "But I intended for some slight scaring and a bit of heart racing but the slipping and almost dying , you did that all by yourself. Now stop squirming or we actually die for real."
"You're insane." She looked at him in awe.
"Thanks."
He pulled himself up , still holding her hand till they were safely back on the ground. Her heart was beating like crazy , not just from the near death experience but also from the closeness that this boy she was trying to do away with.why did she come looking for him and how could she trusted him and putting her life in his hands.
Cassie took a deep breath when she saw his silhouette in the dark night , illuminated only by the millions of street lights far away in the distance back in the city. He was resting against his Harley , a cigarette to his lips as he idly blew a puff of smoke to the sky.
"What kind of game are you playing?"
Cassie stood behind him , hands on her hips , eyes full of anger , suspicion as well as a hint of desire. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail , so it meant she had left her apartment in a hurry as she hadn't also bothered with make up.She was wearing free skirt that glided every time a little breeze passed by, a very new grey sweatshirt and shines black leather boots with a stubby heel.
That also meant the flower had done its job.
"What do you mean?" Blaze said , lifting an eyebrow coyly as he puffed out another gust of smoke that spiraled into the dark sky.
"I'm talking about the flower you Dick." She said angrily. "You disappear, Didn't call me for three days and then you mysteriously leave a rose at my front door telling me to meet you here and then you try to throw me off a cliff?"
"Want a Cig ?" Blaze took a stick out of the pack and offered it to her.
She gave him one derisive scan. "I don't smoke."
He threw his present stick to the ground and crushed it underneath his feet , then took out another one lit it , and deliberately blew out smoke. "Good for you. What are you getting riled up for anyway? I thought women liked getting flowers. And you slipping wasn't part of my plan but a welcome development."
"It was supposed to be romantic." Blaze lips curled into a little smile when he said it , just a little smugly.
Cassie stepped closer to him, feeling his warmth as her body shivered. "You said it reminded you of me. Care to explain?"
"It beautiful, sexy and smells good too. What's the problem?"
"Look..." She said accusingly. "You went for a big splashy date. I fell for it so Good job. But if you think I can be taken in by a rose bud, you are sadly mistaken." Cassie looked at him , her eyes bubbling with innocence as her voiced was cracked. ."
His hair was thoroughly wind blown and she knew she was a sucker for that heading-towards-scruffy look. Then there was that expression on his face. Half dreamy , half naughty. She had to grip the handle of his bike to prevent herself from buying that seductive mouth.
And now he was staring at her , that cocky half smile on his face. She didn't know whether to punch him or jump his bones.
"But it got you over here didn't it?"
"Be honest Blaze...And tell me what you want".
"When you left that night , I didn't have a chance to tell you how I feel ." Blaze sighed and rose to his full height , hooked his fingers in the neck of her sweatshirt and tugged her forward. "I can't get my mind off you Cass. I tried to tuck you away for periods of time but you're still there. I can't think , I can't play , I can't do anything."
He reached up , tugged the band out of her hair and tossed it aside. "I want you. I want to sink my teeth into you. I want to bury myself inside of you and make you mine. And when we're done. I want to do it all over again."
Blaze angled his head , kept his deceitfully easy eyes on hers.
"How is that for straight-up honesty?'
