"Got it," He Xiu said, grabbing the breakfast to take care of it.
A few minutes later, she accompanied Pei Muchan downstairs for breakfast. She still seemed somewhat groggy as if she hadn't quite come to her senses, and couldn't help but ask,
"Ms. Pei... could someone really do such a thing?"
"What thing?" Pei Muchan asked as she stepped out of the elevator, glancing at the junior assistant.
He Xiu stammered, "Poi... poison, that's illegal, right? You could go to jail for that."
"It might not be what you're thinking; it could have been negligence on the hotel's part," said Pei Muchan, her expression hardly changing, calm as still water.
"Anyway, it's already been taken care of. After recording the gala tonight we can leave, no need to think too much about it."
"Understood, Ms. Pei," He Xiu nodded, thinking it might be an issue with the hotel, but then she thought if the hotel had been negligent, they would only have sent breakfast to her own room.
