Making Snacks

Hours gone by and the females are still chatting. They sure are enjoying their time.

Ren felt a little hungry. Then she had a wonderful idea.

"How about we make some cookies?"

Ivy got excited hearing it, "what's a cookie? Can we eat it?"

Ren smiled seeing how excited Ivy is. "Cookie is a snack or dessert that is typically small, flat and sweet. It is usually made out of flour, sugar, egg and some butter."

"We all have those ingredients, except the sugar that you mention." Mar replied.

Ivy stands up raising both her hands up the air, "Then let's start doing it."

The three of them went into the kitchen to start making the cookies.

Mar place the ingredients on the table while Ren is looking for the honey that they have harvested before the cold season.

Ren found the honey and show it to Mar and Ivy. "I think we can use this to replace sugar as a sweetener."

Mar took the jar of honey from Ren. "We can try that."

"Let's start, I really am so excited about this." Ivy said smiling.

Just like making breads, Mar mixed the ingredients one by one and added honey and butter.

After making the dough, the three of them started making small pieces of it and flatten it.

Mar started baking the cookies as per Ren's instruction.

The hut smells so amazing. Ren and Ivy are salivating just by the smell of the baking cookies.

When it is baked, Mar put it on the table.

Ivy can't help herself and took one. "Oh goodness that's hot."

The three of them laugh.

Then the three of them tasted the cookie and look at each other.

"Wow, I can't believe that this is going to be delicious. I thought it would taste burnt, ha-ha"

"Mmm, this is really yummy. We should make more of this in the future as a snack or dessert. " Ren said to Mar.

Mar smiled, "Okay, love. It is easy to make so it won't be a problem."

"Ohhh, I am definitely going to make this at home. Thank you both for this idea. Is it okay to share this recipe with everybody in the village? Well, except Milly of course."

Mar and Ren laughed.

"Of course you can share it with everyone." Mar replied.

Ren thinks before answering. "Maybe we can share it to Milly and her mates. Then maybe she'll like me even a little."

Ivy looked at Mar waiting for him to answer. But Mar kept quite.

So Ivy decided to answer Ren's crazy idea. "It is not bad to share it to them, but her liking you is very unlikely."

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try." Ren replied.

"Love, I don't want you to experience being bullied again by Milly. You don't know her and we can tell you that she is not the type to befriend anyone she doesn't like. So please leave out the idea of being friends with her. " Mar explained.

Mar and Ivy are hopeful that Ren would understand them. They both seem to want to protect the innocent Ren.

Ren noticed their concern and speaks up.

"Alright, I will listen to both of you. No need to worry."

Then the three of them smiled.

Mar stands up. "I am going to make more tea. I think this taste better with that."

"Well, that is actually a good idea." Ren smiled at Mar and kissed him on the cheek.

Mar then place the cup of tea on the table. And the three of them started chatting happily while eating cookies and drinking their tea.

After some time. Ivy saw that it is getting dark and decided to go home.

"Thank you both for this warm and delicious day." Ivy said and hugged Ren.

Ren hugged back. "You're welcome, and thank you for visiting. I hope to see you soon again. Having a female to talk is quite nice."

"No problem Ren. And thank you chief. I'll see you both soon."

Ivy then leaves and Mar closed the door so the cold air won't get in.

Ren went straight to the bed, "I hope she will visit us soon. It is nice talking with Ivy."

Mar follows her and sit down beside her. "She is a nice female, and I would be very happy if you two get along. I really want you to have a friend here in the village."

"Yeah, that would be nice." Ren replied.
