5 Park ride

"I want to go to the park," Chao told his brother, who just came home.

"Now? It's the middle of the night," he said and looked up after taking his shoes off. Jin Lei saw the red puffy eyes of his younger sibling and knew what was going on. "No park. You are going to make an appointment with the psychologist again," he continued, knowing about the nightmares.

"Not a chance. It did not help until now, it won't help ever. I just want to go there." Chao said and he knew what he was talking about. The psychologist just asked a bunch of questions, told him it was not his fault, and told him all the things he already knew about. And that did not help him at all. He just needed someone who would not leave him.

"Alright. Just take a driver with you," Jin Lei said and went upstairs to sleep. Again. He maybe cared, but not enough to have disrupted his precious sleep. But that could be understood. Because he was managing the whole father's company, sleeping around four hours per day. But still, he could have said something more than go to a psychologist.

"I'm going then," he shouted at Lei, who was going upstairs. He said nothing back. Just continued walking. So Chao just walked to the front door.

"I wanna go for a ride. Is anyone free now? Or did everyone go home already?" I asked the butler at the doorway.

"Young master, Li Quan is available but his shift ends soo," the butler said.

"Okay, if he wants to drive me, then pay him overtime. Otherwise, get me someone else. I'm going out." He said and walked to the front of their house. He waited there with the butler for a moment when a black Maserati stopped before him.

So his brother bought a new car, clean lines, black tinted windows. Wow. The butler opened the back door, and he sat down to very comfortable seats. The interior was black leather with red details. And Chao loved it.

"Good evening, young master. Where do you want me to drive to?" The driver in the front seat, Li Quan, was asking him. Chao did not need to think about this. He knew where his destination was.

"Drive to the park." He did not have to say which one. All of them knew. So, he drove him directly there.

"Wait for me here," Chao said when getting out of the car. He did not want anyone to follow him. Walking down the park, he arrived at the corner. It was close to the kid's playground. How frightening it has been for the kids who were there during that day. He heard the bang in his head again, grabbing his hair as he squatted and closed his eyes.

"Why did you do it?! Why did you leave me alone?!" His voice couldn't reach her. He was so desperate he did not notice the boy passing him by until he was almost kicked over by him.

When he looked up, the boy was walking without saying anything. He looked unsteady in his steps and the defeated stance and walk somehow reminded him of Yitian.

'But what would he do here?' He thought and looked away. But then he was hit by a sudden thought.

The posture, the height, it was Yitian. Chao forgot why he was there, he was just worried by the defeated stance and the way Yitian was heading. He did not want to see it again.

Chao quickly ran behind Yitian and followed him into the crossing, glad that he went there when the green light was on.

But he was being happy too early. Because the person suddenly swung and hit the road hard.

Chao did not know why, but he got so worried he ran to him, picking him up in his embrace. He was so shocked. Yitian's face was so pale, his forehead had a big bump with a little blood on it. But his hair was so sticky, full of blood.

He took out the phone and called his driver there. Chao was pissed that nobody was getting out of the car. Even though the small child just passed out in the middle of the street.

He picked him up, surprised at how light he was. He did not even need to work out to carry him effortlessly.

"Your friend, young master?" The driver hurried to open the doors. Chao just nodded and sat in the back, not caring that he will bloody the car seats. The driver took a first-aid kit from the back and passed it to Chao, who did not wait and picked up a bandage to wrap it around Yitian's head.

"Head to the nearest hospital! Hurry!" he shouted to the driver, who started to drive. But there was a traffic jam in front. "Why are we not moving?" he said more calmly because Yitian's eyes fluttered.

"I'm sorry, young master, but there is a lot of traffic ahead. I can't go faster than this." the driver apologized.

"I don't care. Do something!" he shouted, without knowing why he was so annoyed. Maybe because he thought that this happened because of him? That if he hadn't ratted him out, this little boy wouldn't end up like this. But the driver was not at fault. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have shouted like this. It's not your fault." He apologized to the poor person.

"No problem, young master. I know you are worried about your friend." The driver said and skillfully drove to the nearest hospital. When they arrived there, he truthfully said to the staff what happened, that he found him on the street. They immediately started to take care of Yitian.

"Young master. We need his name and if he has insurance." The driver helped him to take Yitian inside.

"We will pay. Give him the best care this hospital has and pay for it. I will drive back myself. You stay here and when he wakes up…" Chao looked around, found a sticky note, wrote something, and gave it to the driver together with his credit card, to pay the bills, "give him this. You will get double pay for it. I will tell my brother." He walked away but at the entrance, he turned around. "Don't tell him I saved him. Don't talk about me at all." Chao walked away driving home. At home, his dreams were not about the past anymore but about the little guy who he was carrying in his hands today.
