43 Back

"Don't help me! I'm not invalid!" Chao shouted for at least a millionth time at Yitian, who was helping him inside his room in the apartment. Since Chao got two stitches and had a burn on the stomach, Yitian felt responsible for that, so he was literally playing the mother chicken.

"You are weak! I need to help you!" Yitian shouted back. And, men, how Chao was surprised. Ever since he woke up in the hospital and talked to Yitian, he noticed the obvious change in their behavior.

Yitian was talking back to him! They still agreed to most of the things but now, Yitian had more guts and Chao liked it more. He got why Yixing said he didn't behave like a friend towards them. He expected obedience.

But god no, Yitian had no plans of being obedient anymore. And now, he was nagging to eat that, don't do that, stop moving, be careful of your stitches.

"I'm not weak." Chao rolled his eyes and smirked. Even without excessively moving his shoulder, he was stronger than Yitian.

"You can't do anything..." Yitian said as he helped Chao to take off the light jacket. Yitian brought some of Chao's clothes to the hospital, so he had his own shirt with a zipper on. Yitian looked at Chao with uncertainty in his eyes.

"Should I help you? Do you want to change?" he asked, unsure. Chao just chuckled and shook his head.

"You would love to have a peak?" Chao said jokingly, knowing that Yitian already saw him naked. What he didn't know was the reaction of Yitian. Which was slapping Chao's shoulder. Followed by a scream of pain, because Yitian hit the right, newly stitched, shoulder.

"Oh, hell, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to!" Yitian was panicking, sounding more worried that he should have been.

"Calm down," Chao and smiled, "it was just a brief moment. I'm alright now," he said and undone his zipper. Yitian blinked a few times, seeing the naked skin of Chao's body, and god, his muscles. Then he hurriedly walked to the closet to find new, more comfortable, clothes for Chao.

When he did find some he threw them at the almost naked Chao and walked away from the room, just to hear amused laughter, by that teaser. What was worse, Yitian had no idea why his heart was beating so fast. Maybe because he was embarrassed that he did not have as muscular a body as Chao.

'Yeah, that was definitely why.' thought Yitian. And opened the fridge with some food made by the cook. He heated something up for both of them and placed it at the counter. He was so immersed in his thoughts that It took him long enough, so Chao walked there just at the exact moment, he did that.

They both sat at the bar stools at the counter, side by side, Yitian still deep in thoughts when Chao reached to Yitian's plate with his chopsticks. Yitian looked at Chao confused.

"Why did you do it?" he asked while moving his eyes from the plate to Chao.

"Ehm, You don't eat mushrooms. So I thought I would eat them for you…" Chao answered, frowning.

"Mushrooms?" Yitian looked at his place and noticed those things that he hated the most. He looked at Chao, stunned. "Thank you," he said and smiled widely. Yitian was amazed by Chao remembering what he does eat and what not, guess they both meant it when they said they would change.

"No problem," Chao answered and flashed a smile back. They both then ate in silence, slightly awkward. But soon they were disrupted by a sudden scream.

"Hey, you wanna-be-hero, get your ass here! How do you fucking play this?!" Yixing shouted from his room and Chao looked at Yitian questioningly.

"What the heck happened when I was in the hospital?"

"Ehm, he said he feels left out. So… he started to play SoL." Chao let out a loud laugh.

"Which profession he picked up? And non-combat?" He was still laughing when getting up, to help Yixing. Yitian was following him.

"Guardian and alchemist, it goes nicely together. He can actually make himself some buffs," Yitian said right before Yixing's room. Chao looked at him, his face a few centimeters from Yitian's.

"You are really smart, aren't you. You helped him choose, right?" He smiled at Yitian, seeing the tactics in it. A good and loyal guardian was hard to find. Nobody wanted to be the one dying first. Nobody wanted to take damage instead of someone else.

"Mmm." Yitian nodded and looked at the watches. " We can play for a half-hour of, you, using your hand or hour, you, helping only vocally. Chose." Chao knocked on the door and went in after Yixing invited them. He looked at the screen where he saw Yixing's character and gawked at what he saw. Chao turned to Yitian only to see him with a gaping mouth.

"How did you…?" Chao was speechless, he couldn't find the exact words to ask Yixing. So, he tried Yitian.

"Did you-" he was ready to ask but as soon as he did he was cut off by Yitian.

"Of course I did! Who do you think I am?!" Yitian turned to face Yixing. Who was emitting such excitement that Yitian did not have the heart to say a thing. But it had to be done.

"Ehm, you forgot what I told you?" Yitian asked, looking at the guild homepage. Why did he join someone else?

"Oh don't worry, I will leave later. I was just getting some girls. Did you know that there are plenty of them? They will do anything for the equipment." Both Chao and Yitian facepalmed and looked at each other. They were so unison that it was scary.

"That's probably guys, playing as a female char, getting simps and milking them for money. Don't you say you thought they are real… You who never believe any girl…" Chao sighed and Yixing got a rueful face impression. Chao then turned to Yitian.

"I'll take an hour with him and I will need your help," he said, moving a sitting bag to be next to Yixing, Yitian found himself something to sit too. And they began how to play games 101.
