tell me what the fuck you did to my daughter!

*Nathan's Pov:*

While riding my motor, I had this disturbing feeling.

I had this weird feeling in my stomach the moment I left her.

Mia was acting weird today. Very weird.

Although I had a great time, and she seemed happy. But I had this feeling that she was in immense pain.

Her eyes were telling me to save her.

With that thought, I turn around and go back to her.

I was happy that I wasn't too far away.

In a few minutes, I was there and quickly got off my motor.

I looked at the bridge where I had left her behind, but she wasn't there.

And then, out of nowhere, I hear a splash.

I quickly ran to the bridge and looked in the river, hoping it wasn't what I thought it would be.

After I saw the colour of her cropped jacket, I quickly went after her, fear taking over.

I go into the water and search for her.

After a few seconds of searching, I finally found her almost at the bottom.

I almost caught her when she hit her head against a stone.

I saw blood, and that freaked me even more out.

I get her and swim up.

I gasped for air the moment I was above the water.

I swim over to the side.

Mia!

Wake up!

Please don't do this to me! I say, tears falling.

Help!

Please help!

We need help out here! I screamed as loud as I could.

I was happy seeing a man and a woman running towards me.

"What happened?" they ask me, both worried.

Please, call an ambulance quickly. I say to them.

The woman quickly gets her phone and calls them.

I looked at my hand under her head and saw blood.

Freaking out, I ask the man to give me his scarf.

He quickly puts it off and gives it to me.

I put it under her head, hoping the blood would stop.

After what seemed like hours but was just minutes, the ambulance came.

They come running towards us with a gurney.

They push me out of the way and put Mia on the gurney.

They gently run with her and put her in the ambulance.

I go after them.

"Are you her family?" asks one of the men.

I am her boyfriend. I say.

"Then come with us," he says while pushing me inside.

The ambulance starts.

I take Mia's hand in mine, praying that she wouldn't leave me.

The man with us does with the machines inside the ambulance and puts a ventilator on her.

How is she? I ask in a shaky voice.

"I don't know, but it looks severe. She needs to have surgery as soon as possible," he says.

After a few minutes, we stop, and the door opens.

Doctors run towards us and take her out.

They run with her, and I run after them.

"Are you her family?" asks one of the doctors.

I shake my head.

I am her boyfriend.

"Could you call her family and tell them to come quickly?"

I nod my head.

I take my phone out of my pocket, water dripping off it.

Being happy that my phone was waterproof, I remember that Mr Mason gave me his number when I talked to him this morning.

I dial his number, and he picks up after a few rings.

Hello Mr Mason?

"Yeah, Nathan. What happened? Why are you guys still not home?" he asked me.

Um, Mr Mason.

Mia..she... I say, not being able to tell him what happened.

"What? What happened to Mia, Nathan?" he asks, worried.

We are in the hospital.

You guys have to come because she needs to have surgery as soon as possible. I say, sinking in everything.

I told him what hospital we were at, and he said that they would be there in ten minutes.

"Did you call her family?" asks the same doctor.

I nod my head.

They will be here shortly.

"Can you tell me what happened?"

Not wanting to believe it myself, I say it.

I think she was trying to commit suicide. I say, feeling like my heart stopped at that moment.

The doctor enters the room where they took Mia and tells me to wait outside.

After a few minutes, I hear people running.

I look behind and see Mr Mason.

"Nathan, where is my daughter?" he asks.

I could see the devastated look on his face.

She is in the surgery room. I say.

"Now, tell me what the fuck you did to my daughter!" he says, grabbing my collar.

I didn't try to get him off me.

I understood him.

He was scared, just like me.

Scared that she wouldn't come back.

"Dad, calm down, please. This is not what you should do," says a girl.

He lets go of me and calms down a bit.

"What happened to Mia?" asks the girl.

I tell them slowly but gently what happened.

"No, no. Mia wouldn't do that," he says, losing his grip.

I grab him by his shoulders and let him sit down.

"She was happy when she left us. How did this happen?" asks Mr Mason.

I know.

She was beautiful and even did things that surprised me.

She said that she was finally happy today.

When I asked if we should go, she said she wanted to be alone for a while.

I was suspicious, but I told her to call me when she arrived home.

When I was on my way, I felt something was wrong and went back to her to find her in that state.

I couldn't believe it myself at first. I say, crying now.

"Why would she kill herself when she has everything?" says someone that seemed like her mother.

Weird enough, she didn't seem worried at all.

"I will fill in the hospital papers and come back," says her father.

I nod my head, and he goes.

I saw two girls standing together and crying.

One of them looks at me.

It was her sister.

She sits next to me.

"Thank you for saving her on time. I can't imagine losing after we just found her," she says.

What do you mean 'just found her? I ask her, confused.

"She was living with her aunt, but dad thought that she was with her mother," she says.

So you guys are not real siblings? I ask calmly.

"Yeah, we are step sisters, but the bond we built over the last two weeks made it feel like we were real sisters," she says, crying.

I didn't know what to do.

I give her a side hug.

"I knew she was having a hard time, but I didn't know she was in soo much pain that she would want to leave this world, leave us."

What happened to her? I ask.

"She didn't tell me anything, but I think she was getting abused when she was with her aunt. She was full of scars when she came to us. I was shocked and didn't know what to do. She begged me not to tell anyone, and I promised her," she says, looking at me.

That explains why she had that scars. I say to myself.

"You knew about it, right?" she asks me.

How did you know? I ask.

"She didn't tell me directly about it, but we could put one to two when she told us the story about you. It seems like she really cared about you more than she wanted to admit," she says.

I give her a faint smile.

I was soo scared to see her in that state.

I didn't know what to do as I felt like the whole world had collapsed on me.

I was terrified at the thought of losing her.

"I am happy that there is another person that cares about her," she says.

I wish I could be there for her more.

I wish I had known what she went through.

"You know now. Have hope, and she will be saved," she says.

You are braver than me.

"I am just as scared as you. I am just hoping that Mia won't leave us."

I nod.

After a while, her father returns.

Mia's sister stands up.

"Finished?" she asks.

Mr Mason nods his head.

"Any news?" he asks.

We all shake our heads.

And that is how we all wait for good news for hours.

The doctors come out after six hours.

We all run to them.

"Are you the family?" asks one of them.

Mr Mason nods his head.

"She had a severe head injury, and we did brain surgery on her. We managed to save her, but it may take a while for her to wake up. She may also have Post-concussion syndrome, but we will take some tests after she wakes up," says the doctor.

We all let out a breath we didn't know we were holding.

"Thank you very much, doctor. I don't know how to thank you," says Mr Mason.

"No need for that. It is our job," says the doctor smiling and shaking Mr Mason.

Can we see her? I ask him.

"I am afraid not. She will be brought to the recovery room. As we will monitor her closely, she can't have visitors. It is better if you come back tomorrow," says the doctor leaving us all there.

Then we see nurses taking Mia out of the surgery room.

Mr Mason and her sister run to her. And the two other girls, but the mother just stayed in her place like she didn't want to be there.

"My daughter," says Mr Mason crying.

I walk slowly to her.

She was soo silent, unlike her.

She was soo pale.

I take her hand in mine, a tear falling.

I was so happy that she was still here with us.

The nurses tell us to move out of the way and take her away.

"Dad, she did it. She didn't leave us," says her sister, happily putting her father in a hug.

He hugs her back.

Why don't you all go home and rest?

You must be tired. I say to them all.

"I am sorry for blaming you," says Mr Mason.

You don't have to apologise.

I understand. I say, giving him a smile.

"Thank you for saving her. I noticed later that if you didn't go back to check up on her, we would probably have lost her," Mr Mason said, giving me a fatherly hug.

I smile.

I would have never forgiven myself if that had happened. I say.

"You go to rest too. Would you like a ride?" he asks me.

I appreciate the offer, but I would like to stay here for a while. I say to Mr Mason.

"Are you sure? No one can visit her right now, so I suggest you go to rest, and we can come tomorrow together," he says.

I won't be at ease leaving now.

Don't worry about me and have a good rest.

"Okay, see you tomorrow then," says Mr Mason.

Yeah, see you tomorrow. I say, and Mr Mason walks away with his wife while his sister stops to talk to me.

"My name is Evelyn, by the way, and this is my younger sister, Emily, and this is Olivia, my best friend," she says, wising to each one.

Nice to meet you all.

My name is Nathan. I say, giving them a smile.

"I am sure my sister will like to hear that you worried about her all day," says Evelyn giggling with Olivia.

I put my hands in my hair in awkwardness and smile.

Emily gave me a weak smile.

She was silent the whole time, but I could see the pain in her eyes.

"I am happy that she met someone like you. Not everyone is lucky to have friends like this," she says, quickly wiping away a tear away that managed to escape.

She walks away after that.

I bid them byes, and they leave.

I take my phone out and call Ian.

"Heyy, man. How are you doing?" he asks me.

I am fine.

Could you do me a favour?
