Marry in Las Vegas?

"Here, the tea should be the right temperature for you to drink." Lily pushed the Tie Guan Yin tea to his side.

"Thanks. This is.." Reading the label on the cup, a smile appeared on his face.

"I remember you ordering the same tea when we were eating at a restaurant. I wasn't sure if you liked any other teas, so I chose this one."

"I'll like anything you order for me." He chuckled before taking sips of the tea. The fresh fragrance emitted from the tea made his mind freshen up from the business reports he had been reading today.

Looking up, he asked, "Right. What were you guys talking about? Auntie said you guys were talking about me just now."

Hearing his question made Lily choke on her tea instantly. Taking a clean napkin, he handed it over to her and patted her from behind. "Careful! You should concentrate on drinking and eating from now on. It's bad to doze off or get distracted when consuming foods and beverages."

Lily shot glares at him from the corner of her eyes, but he pretended to not see any of it. Her eyes were flying daggers at him as if she was complaining to his comment. 'Whose fault do you think it was that made me choke?!'

Toby let out a small laugh before jumping back to the previous topic they were discussing. Apparently, Yao Yao and Toby have always wanted to go on vacation. Unfortunately, their husbands never had the time to go with them, so the plans were always delayed.

As they continued talking about vacation, they started getting more excited as if they were really going on one. All along, Lily and Ginny remained silent. Vacation discussions were not their within their forte. While the girls stayed quiet, the husbands also kept their mouths shut.

How would they dare interrupt their wife's heated conversation? Of course, this was also because they had neglected their wife for work. Therefore, they chose to wait for Lin Que to come and take the spotlight.

Toby smiled, "We were talking about going on vacation together. Two families. Everyone is going including you and Lily."

Yao Yao nodded while clapping her hands together. "Right! Right! As your graduation present, we'll sponsor the vacation trip. We can all go together and spend some rare time roaming around. It's been forever since we've gone on a family trip. This time, it'll be with friends!"

Toby elbowed Lawrence while giving him a grinning squinting smile. Lawrence coughed and added, "It's good to rest a break from work. You youngsters should relax while you can and not become workaholics like us. Take your time and explore different places. Who knows? Maybe you'll randomly come up to us and tell us you've registered for marriage in Las Vegas out of nowhere!"

As if agreeing to his words, Lin An nodded and joined the conversation. "Exactly! What's the point of earning money if you don't use it on yourself? Even if you end up having a honeymoon wedding on a private jet, at least it's not in the same old boring marriage bureau! Right? Right?"

"That's so right! Old Lin, you've grown wiser! Hahaha, so, let's talk about where we should go on vacation as two families." Lawrence and Lin An bumped their tea cups together as if they were making a toast.

Lily lowered her head as she blew bubbles into her tea. 'How could dad mention marrying in Las Vegas?! Sheesh! Dad, are you that scared of me not marrying off?! Geez, so embarrassing!' She thought to herself as she brushed her fringe messily with her fingers.

"A vacation sounds nice." Lin Que voiced his opinion, making the elders stop their talk instantly. His words caught their immediate attention as their eyes all laid on the couple. Ginny also blinked nonstop at them in surprise.

"Then where would you like to go for the trip? We have many options!" Yao Yao took out her phone to take some notes of everyone's preferences. With his hand rubbing Lily's hands under the table, he replied to every question their parents had for them.

He understood she felt shy and wasn't used to these questions. As her boyfriend, he had to stand up and take one for the team. Besides, he also wanted to go on a short break with his girlfriend. It might be awkward if they went on one alone since they've dated for less than a year. Or perhaps considered too fast?

Since he needs to get used to family time anyways, he could use this chance to kill two birds with one stone. Or more than two birds...

Staring at the two helpless husbands at the table, Lin Que started imagining how life would be if he and Lily get married in the future. 'I'll definitely listen to her like the way uncle listens to auntie... and how dad listens to mom. Not too bad..I think.'

After chatting for a while, the two families chose to have sushi for lunch. Yao Yao and Toby were already looking through vacation catalogs. Whenever they came across a beautiful scenery, they would compare it with the ones they've approved.

Lily took a bite of her sushi roll and leaned over to Lin Que. Following her actions, he also lowered his head for his ears to get closer to her lips. "Do you think we'll actually go on vacation?"

"From the looks of it...Most likely. Why? Do you not want to go on one?" He sounded calm, but his heart was pounding louder than the rock music in the background. 'Does she not want to go on vacation with me? My family? Her family? Or does she not like vacations in general?'

"No. No. Not that. It's just that if it's going on vacation, I'd rather go alone with you. But it'll be fun going with our families as well. We'll find time to sneak away from them like taking a long bathroom break." She started listing ways to spend time alone with him.

Lily was so engaged into thinking of ways to kidnap her boyfriend if they go on the family trip that she failed to notice the smirk on his face. His next words halted her thoughts to a long pause. "If you continue talking like this, I'll ignore everyone at the table and kiss you in public."

Her face instantly flushed blossom pink after hearing his words. Naturally, he took a few pieces of her favorite sushi roll and placed it on her plate.
