Asking the Wrong Person

Lin Que's introduction made 180 degrees change in Director Chu's reaction. His darkened expression instantly brightened with a cheery smile. He extended his arm out for a hand shake as he repeated his introduction.

"Hello, CEO Lin. I'm the Director from Chu Entertainment." Taking a split second on the extended hand, Lin Que smiled. "Sorry, my hands are too full to shake your hand. We can skip the small details and jump into the proposal you spoke about. What do you say?"

"Of course! CEO Lin's time is precious. I'll summarize our company's operations to you." He hurriedly retracted his hands and opened the file in his hands. Lucas slowly stepped away from them and walked to where Lin An and Lawrence were.

When he got close enough to Lin An, he elbowed him. "Dad! Dad!"

"What is it?" Lin An frowned at her son's interruption.

"That Director Chu is talking to brother right now. Look! Brother is planning to do something. That evil smile on his face says it all." Lucas started sipping the drink in his hand, forgetting who the drinks were for.

Lawrence squinted when he heard Director Chu's name. "Director Chu from Chu Entertainment? He actually dared to show up at a place like this? Do you know what they are talking about?"

Lucas nodded, "He failed to get dad's attention with his proposal. Brother offered to listen to him, but I know things aren't as peaceful as it seems on the surface. My brother doesn't talk to anyone about investments easily. Something must have happened between them. Maybe that man stepped on my brother's tail somehow."

Lawrence took a champagne from the table behind him and smiled. "Old Lin, you have a good son. Director Chu threatened Lily previously to force her to sign a full-time contract with his company. Lily rejected his proposal and he went up to our company. At the end, he was tossed out to the streets."

Lin An chuckled, "Oh? I've heard about the video of some director getting tossed out. So, it was him? Old Jiang, I'll see who dares do your daughter wrong in front of me. Let my son handle this scum first, I'll come in later."

"Looking forward to your performance." Lawrence swirled his drink as he continued observing Lin Que and Director Chu's interaction from afar.

Meanwhile, Director Chu read straight from the documents in his hands. Smiling as if he had discovered a gold mine, he continued chatting nonstop. Believing he had made a decent impression in front of Lin Que; his mouth didn't dare delay any seconds.

Since the very beginning, Lin Que hasn't been listening to him sincerely. Once in a while, he would curve his lips and nod. Other times, he would furrow his brows slightly. Soon, Director Chu finished selling his proposal plan. When he looked up, he asked, "Well? What does CEO Lin think of this proposal?"

"Hmm.. the proposal indeed sounds tempting, but.." His words trailed away as he looked at his mother's direction. It looked like his mother and Lily were still chatting happily while ignoring the rest of the world.

"But what? If there are any conditions, you will like to add or make adjustments to; we can talk about it. If it's the budget that I set, I can reduce the amount as long as CEO Lin wouldn't mind making the investment." Director Chu's desperation heightened as he imagined the food on his plate being one step away from his mouth!

"Well, investing three billion isn't a problem. Even if you request for fifty billion dollars for investment, it still wouldn't be a big deal." Lin Que enjoyed seeing the anticipation on Director Chu's expression blast off to outer space. How could he make him suck up the literal meaning of reaching the highest point and falling back down if he doesn't raise the stake?

"F..Fifty billion? Wow, that's a generous amount! If there are any problems, please tell me. No matter what conditions they are, I would try my best to comply!" Director Chu rubbed his hands together. If he had a bowl in his hands, his saliva would probably fill half of it already.

"You see, I do have the budget for investment, but the one who finalizes the decision isn't me. So, even if I agree, but that person doesn't then I can't do anything about it. In other words, you're asking the wrong person." Lin Que showed his straight, white teeth as he smiled at him.

After hearing Lin Que's high stakes of fifty billion, his heart pounded like beating drums on loop! His hands and forehead started sweating as his body trembled. If he could put his hands on this investment, then he wouldn't have to be afraid of his shareholders! Instead, he can raise his head and stomp on their disgusting faces!

Thinking about his shareholder's resentful expressions, a burst of joy erupted in his heart. His eyes widened as he stuttered anxiously, "Then is the person here right now? Who is this person you are talking about?"

"It's such a great coincidence because that person is here right now. I was about to walk back with these plates to her. Since the proposal sounds like it'll be a profitable business, you might want to take this chance to meet her. Besides, she is an extremely busy person." Lin Que looked over to Lily when he saw her staring at him with pursed lips.

'Looks like she's hungry. Heh, good timing.' He started walking back to Lily and Yao Yao's table. Director Chu turned around and followed him from behind. Since Lin Que was walking in front of him, Director Chu couldn't see where he was going.

When Lin Que stopped at the table, he leaned forward and gave Lily a peck on the cheeks. "I made you wait long. You must be hungry." While Lily nodded in response, Yao Yao complained after being fed some dog food.

"You took like half an hour." From the way Yao Yao spoke and how Lin Que maintained his composure, Director Chu immediately introduced himself to her. 'Nobody would dare speak to CEO Lin like that! Unless this lady is the one who affects his decisions! I need to persuade her!'

"Hello, madam! I am Director Chu from Chu Entertainment! I have a promising proposal to present to you. I hope you could spare some time to listen to me. CEO Lin already agreed to it being a good proposal!" He extended his arm once again, but met nothing but air.

Yao Yao raised her brow towards the stranger in front. "What are you talking about?"

Lin Que turned around and clarified the situation. "I believe there is some miscommunication. Director Chu, the one you should be speaking to isn't my mother, but my girlfriend." Stepping aside, Lin Que introduced Lily to him on purpose.

"Even though you should be quite familiar with my girlfriend, I'll still give a simple introduction. Director Chu, this is my girlfriend, Lily Jiang. She's the one you need to convince." The radiant smile on his face literally slapped Director Chu's face like an elephant's trunk attack.

Lily had just stuffed some salad into her mouth and was enjoying the food. Out of nowhere, she heard her boyfriend's introduction and almost choked!

She looked at him with the expression: "When did your businesses have anything to do with me????"
