Weird

Soon night fell, casting a dark spell upon the land. The moon's silver beams danced across the horizon, illuminating the three souls whose fates were forever intertwined by the threads of destiny. Bound by a past shrouded in mystery, they were destined to be awakened from the slumber of forgotten and forsaken memories.

The next morning, as usual, Aalia reluctantly dragged herself to school. The night she had been restless, leaving her with a pallid complexion and heavy bags under her eyes. Despite her best efforts, sleep had eluded her, leaving her feeling drained and worn out. As she trudged through the school gates, she fought to keep her drooping eyelids open.

While walking in the school hallway, her mind was lost in a sea of thoughts, she unintentionally collided with someone. Startled by the unexpected impact, she quickly regained her balance and turned to apologize. As she looked into the stranger's eyes, she felt a wave of familiarity wash over her.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry", She politely apologized to the other person and continued walking in while the other person was shocked by her reaction.

"she didn't recognize me?", he asked with a shocked expression.

"She lost her marbles. She didn't recognize me either. I thought she was faking it. It seems to be I was really wrong.", the other person said as he analyzed the whole situation with a deep frown, yet his disappointment couldn't hidden in his voice.

"She seems to be gentle? Don't you think something is weird?", Lian asked with a deep expression.

"Yes.", Yash said as his eyebrows knitted into a nod.

In the principal office, the principal looked warily at the two people seated before him.

"Mr. Lian, what do you think?", he spoke cautiously.

"I accept.", he said coldly.

"I have a condition", he continued after a while of thinking.

"I'll accept any conditions", principal said with smiling eyes.

"I want to meet David", he coldly spat out.

Principal shocked speechless.

"David is not related to our school", he said with a hesitation.

"I know, I just want to meet him.", again said stiffly.

"Umm, alright. I'll arrange the meeting.", principal said and discreetly wiped away the perspiration from his forehead.

Yash was looking at the seemingly casually act of the principal and the corner of his lips lifted into a curl.

"Alright, we're looking forward to the meeting with David.", he said.

After about an hour, in a tranquil courtyard, three figures sat around a table, the scorching sun was casting dancing shadows on their faces.

"Old man said you wanted to meet me. What can I do for you?" David broke the silence.

"We need some information. That's all.", Yash said with a genuine smile on his face.

"About what?", David asked with a puzzled expression.

"Aalia!", the cold and aloof man next to them slowly spat out the word.

"Umm, we need some information about Aalia.", Yash said.

"Who are you? Why are you asking about her?", he asked cautiously.

"I'm her brother.", he answered honestly.

"But, she said, she had no one to rely on. You're saying, you're her brother. How can I trust you?", David asked again.

"She had forgotten about us.", Yash said.

"No wonder.", David said.

"What happened to her.", this time the question was from Lian.

"I'm sorry, I cannot talk about a girl behind her back.", David worriedly said.

"I'm her brother, he's her fiancee. What's wrong with that?", Yash asked him.

David thought for a long time with a frown on his face. Then said to them.

"Alright, if you really want to know the truth, I'll take you to someone. She'll answer all your questions."

"Let's go.", Lian immediately stood up.

Within half an hour, they arrived at the house in the village.

"Lina? Lina? Are you in? Lina?", he stood before the thatch hut and called out.

"Why are you shouting like a pig for?", a female voice drifted in the air followed by a middle aged woman emerged within the threshold.

"Lina, I took you two guests. They wanted to know about Aalia.", David placed the motive before got beaten.

"You said Aalia?", Lina asked again as she thought she heard wrongly.

"Yes.", David conformed again.

"Alright, you can get lost now.", she said to David.

"Umm, alright.", he disappeared without a delay.

"Come in.", she invited them in.

Three of them entered the hut.
