Chapter 70: Dazed by her Beauty

• As I was looking down at everyone dancing and having a good time. My eyes spotted Sally among the crowd. She looked absolutely breathtaking in that gown, I had designed for her. Her beauty always shined out to me like a beautiful sunrise. The way the gown hugged her body was very sexy. I could feel myself drooling at every inch my eyes wandered on her slim luscious body. Which made me shallow down some slobber.

I'd feel pretty sheepish to literally drool with my pals hanging out around me. I noticed Aaron here gave me an unusual cross-eye expression from hearing me faintly yelp down my building saliva. I felt clownish from holding my stance still. While he weirdly glances at me for a second.

In all honesty, this wasn't like me to get so captivated by a pretty face. Then again, Sally's face was beyond beautiful. My sweets had a way to mesmerize me in her radiance.

As her eyes wandered around, so I looked back out to crowd. This way she wouldn't think I've been looking at her. The second she found me, I could just feel her lovely eyes gazing up at me.

Having no control my eyes captured hers in a tight lock. She stood out to me as if everyone else faded. Like it was only her and I standing in the room. While having our eyes fixated on each other.

Unfortunately, I acknowledged now since her eyes were locked into mine. I could read the turmoil she had along with frustration. She was feeling uncertain about me, likely from informing her that she'll be my bride.

Then I noticed she was fighting to break eye contact with me. Although, I didn't wanna lose this connection between us. Looking into her eyes somewhat helps my confusion. However, I understood she has a long way to go before our bond connection would finally set. It's gonna take a while before she starts feeling, what I feel for her.

I watched her eyes concentrate to break free from staring at me. Until she finally managed to snap herself out of the trance we both became stuck in.

Then she broke eye contact with me and turned her head away. But I still kept my eyes on her to watch her socialize with the ladies in my Kingdom. I must say Maria was doing a splendid job at helping Sally to feel welcomed.

As Jay said to my left, "She looks beautiful."

"Indeed," I said back.

To my right, Aaron asked, "Did you design that gown for her?"

"Yes."

"Looks breathtaking on her!" JJ said from Aaron's right, "I didn't know you could design something like that."

"I didn't either, JJ but somehow I managed," I stated and understood my pals were trying to help me.

They knew I was flustered right now. Although, them complimenting me on, Sally's gown was slightly weird and wasn't what they'd normally do. My single friends were the typically men that would imagine the ladies walking around barely dressed. Well, maybe except for JJ. He was more of a gentleman compared to a player.

But I think maybe they didn't know what to say to me. Since I've been acting so moody and distant with them. Which was how my pals knew, I wasn't being myself. I'm never cold with them. I was only ever cold with the ladies, I counted, and anybody else, I didn't consider as a pal of mine. Since this setting bond, I've been cold with my men.

For the first time, my palms were sweaty from me feeling nervous. This time they weren't soggy with the blood of my victims. Having the nervous sweat wasn't me... Never! Luckily, I hide my emotions well by being sorta cold.

"Are you about ready to do this, Cory?" On Jay's left, Josh asked.

I kinda nod and said, "Just about."

Mike asked chuckling around Josh and Jay, "Do you need a shot first?"

"Nah, I'll be good," I said çhuckling back at Mike and the guys around me.

[Author note~ A shot isn't the same as alcohol. But it does have similar side effects. That will be explained further on. Then bubbly drinks are called this because of the higher carbonation.]

Nick asked, standing beside JJ, "Who's getting her?"

"I'd say Jay should," I answered.

"Technically, shouldn't it be Aaron who gets her or even Nick since he's a tracker." JJ said puzzled, "She'll be your wife soon. So it will be Aaron and the men under his Division's job to be her bodyguards now. Then Nick and the men under him will be given the job to fetch her when you want her."

Laughing fairly loud, Aaron confessed, "I honestly forgot about that part of the job with being Primary of my Division!"

As more men joined in on the laughing while Nick said cracking up, "I at least remembered that job description for my Division field!"

Jay said laughing too, "That's pretty sad Aaron! How could you forget about that part of your job?"

"I never saw Cory getting married!" Aaron said çhuckling himself red with embarrassment, "So I easily forgot!"

Mike said laughing, "Sounds like will need to down rank Aaron to Highest Ranker and promote Pete to Primary Rank!"

As Aaron just shook it off, from being ragged on by his pals. "Has anyone even seen Pete?"Josh randomly asked as everyone was still sorta laughing.

"He's somewhere below us with his wife." Replied Mike cooling down his laughter, "I ran into him early."

Josh kinda nods while everyone subsided the laughing.

"Speaking of Pete, will have to pick out Secondary Commanders for Sally when we aren't home to watch or care for her. I already have a few Highest Rankers in mind from my Division." Said Matt over by Nick's right.

Giving Josh a pat on the back, Mike said çhuckling, "I know Josh here will be one from my Division." Mike and Josh, were close pals.

I said still watching Sally from below me. "Small steps first. Then will gradually start picking a few Highest Rankers to be in secondary command of her when we aren't home. Then eventually, Aaron and his Division will take the place to be her bodyguard."

"I can agree with you on that," Mike said.

Then I further explained. "Yup. But for now, I feel Jay is the best option to get her. Since Aaron was going to be the one to kill her that day. When she first meet him and Nick was the one who brought her back to me when she escaped"

"I only do what I am told to do with no questions asked," Aaron said laughing again like he was justifying himself, "If you said put her down then I would've."

I chuckled at Aaron knowing well, what he said is true. While I found myself, becoming dazed at Sally talking with Maria and Maria's friends from below me. Inside myself, a smile formed but I dared not to show that on the outside.

"How do you want me to get her?" Jay asked distracting me out of my thoughts, "She's with Maria and Maria's friends. Sally, might refuse to come with me. I don't wanna make a sense by focusing her up here."

Text the guys to get their wives to isolate, Sally. I told my pals, "And have the entertainers play something slow for the couples to dance too."

Nick said çhuckling, "Real smooth."

"Indeed, while you guys do that. I'll speak with my Elders to let them know I'm ready. I informed everyone then walked away from the stone railing.
