Ch 198: You came as a Lifesaver
"Mommy may Samantha and I play on the swing set?" Clara asked before Maria could talk to Abby and me.
"Yes, that is fine but only for a little bit. You'll be leaving shortly with your brother Jake and the other kids." Maria said when she peeked her eyes out the long window. To see many kids still playing on swings and the playground.
"Before you girls leave let's clean up the dolls," Abby gently said.
Without any argument, Samantha and Clara put the dolls and every accessory like gowns, hair clips, brushes, and whatever else back into Samantha's pink baggy. Once they were done, they both ran out the glass door when Maria opened it for them and skipped themselves up to the playground. As Maria watched them for a second but they weren't unsupervised. Within the area, slaves and servants were watching them, including some men. Although I still noticed Cory has his security down. So I wasn't sure why nobody was patrolling inside or outside the mansion. I found it odd but I didn't ponder on it too deeply. Honestly, it was nice to watch the kids playing outside.
"I see you met my bestie Abby here, Sally," Maria pulled me from focusing out the window when she sat back down on the floor with us.
"Why Yes I did," I replied smiling.
As Abby added, "she also met Anna and Miranda. They tried to pull some low shots. Luckily, Nick came in so Miranda had to shut her mouth. Then Anna tried to flirt with him by buttering him up with a seductive kiss. But he shot her right down."
Maria giggled and said. "Oh, that is so funny. He is never going to fall for her. Just the other day I saw her flirting it up with Jay."
"These Primaries and single Highest-ranked men have it all too easy with some of these Pureblood single ladies," Abby said giggling.
"I'm surprised nobody fights with sharing each other," I mentioned joining in the conversation. If I'm being honest this weird way of dating. That is called courting to the Kingdom and Baron Kind was new to me, I thought.
Abby giggled and said. "During their teenage years, yes. But that's a thing of the past. The men are close and talk to each other openly about the women there courting. They have respect for one another. Plus, Cory expects them to do that. Honestly, the courting teens are the ones that fight more times than often. They have yet learn how to share a courtship together. The available courting men are sorta like role models to these teens"
"I'm not sure how any of you could share each other until a marriage claim is given," I said sorta frustrated with the idea of Cory being with other women recently. Then again why I am? I inwardly ask, it's not like I am jealous. Why would I be jealous?
"Only some of the women I've seen fighting a few times," Maria admitted.
"Oh, so there is fighting then," I said more like confirming my conclusion.
"Sadly, Rachel and a handful of other Princesses can cause issues with certain ladies that can court the men," Abby confesses.
"I take it Cory also recently courted these Princesses including Rachel?" I questioned unsure as to why I even asked since knew the answer. I mean even Cory said he guessed he kinda did but what's that supposed mean to me. It's either you did or you didn't. Was how I saw it from my viewpoint.
Both Abby and Maria sorta looked at me with this questionable look on their faces.
"Well, yes," Maria replied rawly like something was stuck in her throat. "But it didn't mean anything to him."
It must've meant more than enough to him. That is what I wanted to say so bitterly. I wasn't sure why the thought of his lips on Rachel stung my heart. Gosh, why am I even thinking like this! I shouldn't care... I mean I don't care!
"Honestly, it didn't, I don't why he bothered courting, Rachel. He mostly just ignored her." Abby shared yanking me out of my conflicting mind. She even rolled her eyes when saying Rachel's name.
"Yeah, isn't that the truth," said Maria rolling her eyes too. "Rachel only brings unnecessary drama. Cory should've never allowed her to take over the way she did. But no Head King is perfect when it comes to ruling his Kingdom."
"He put up a careless blind eye to it." Abby said in greater relief, "you came as a lifesaver, Sally."
"Maria's mentioned Rachel can be bad. But I didn't think she could be that bad." I said not knowing if that's what I wanted to say. A part of me was nagging to know if Cory has more feelings for her. Then what he and everybody else wanted to admit.
Abby said with a stressed tone, "she's a nightmare!"
In the middle of our conversation, John walked in with another vastly tall and attractive featured hybrid man.
His face was a square-diamond shape. He has dark brown hair yet is lighter than JJ's. That was chopped in a short undercut that he had spiked in a messy style that looked so good on him. His eyes appeared forest green which is an oval deep-set appearance. Then he has a defined narrow nose, his lips had some fullest to them, and looked so attractive with the snake bites he wore on his lip side. He was so alluring and dangerous-looking.
[Author's note~ Very gradually more secondary characters will be added to the story. Remember if a name is mentioned it means that hybrid person will play an important part in the story. That includes teenagers and kids. There is still a lot information Sally will be learning about the Kingdoms. Some information may be on a harsher side because remember their worlds are cruel. Hybrid women are enslaved under the hybrid men even with a rank. That rank is only given because she married a man that has a rank.
