Chapter seven: Sold

Reaching the place, she saw nothing special,

Mother there's nothing here, maeve said wandering what her mother want to show her in this secluded area. And she notice her mother fidgeting, squinting her eyes suspiciously at her mother, because her mother don't get nervous.

Is something wrong mother? She asked

No am fine. Saying this, a man came out from one of the roads, he look to be in his thirties blond hair,red eyes lean physique.

Maeve wondered who the man is and why his approaching them.

I see you've brought her said the man seizing her up and down before humming in satisfaction like he has found a pot of gold.

And maeve looked wearily at the man she know something was wrong.

I see I'll take her, ninety gold coin that is, she's worth it.

Ma eve stared at the man wandering what he was talking about, before it dawned at her, she is being sold. Her mother is selling her. With disbelief she stepped back, and two bulky men came out of nowhere holding her firmly .

She watched the man hand the coin to her mother, and watched her count it before saying complete.

She stared at her mother in shock. Mother its not true right its a joke right.

When did I start joking evey? Deadpanned her mother with a cold gaze.

Why ? She asked her voice coming out small with pain .

Why? Because you are useless,I don't need a burden said her mother coldly.

She felt her eyes sting with unshed tears but it did not pour, she felt betrayed and angered.

Burdened you say? She gritted her teeth, I did everything, take care of you,make money and you waste it on drinks and your useless boyfrie.....SLAP . ma eve could deal her checks sting from the slap she received from her mother.

How dare you !!!, celine roared furiously. Though she ma eve mother she looked only five years older than her daughter making them look like sisters.

No mother sells their child, you lost the right to call your self my mother spat maeve with anger.

With gritted teeth she said am not going with you, I'll scream ! Said ma eve with panic
