"Virtual space?" Alex asked in puzzlement.

Then, Alex's' vision blurred and he appeared in an open and vast grey world. As he was already accustomed to different visions, it took him just a few seconds to get adjusted to change of space.

Then, Animus transferred him the instruction on how to use the space. Alex's eyes twinkled and a smile bloomed on his face, as he thought. "With this virtual space, I don't have to completely depend on others for the development of technologies. I can develop new technologies myself as long as I have enough knowledge."

"Show me the different modes of Virtual Space."

After that command, the vast gray space became turbulent and changed into a neon blue colour and shrank to a football field-sized.

Then several virtual floating panels appeared infront of Alex.

'Experimental space.'

'Testing space.'

'Free mode.'

'Assist mode.'

These were different modes of virtual spaces for various purposes. Unlike the virtual technology present on earth, this is a full virtual space that can simulate 99.99999% of reality.

The use of virtual space consumes a very vast amount of energy from Nanites, so various modes were created to be used for the specific purposes. Among them, the Free mode is just like a separate reality where the limit is one's imagination and knowledge. But, this mode also uses an astronomical amount of energy and computing power of Nanites to work, and the more complex the technology is the more power and Nanites it requires to be used.

Alex chose Experimental space mode as it uses less energy, then the football-field sized space shrunk even more to become a basketball court sized square space. At the same time, a white lab coat draped over Alex's clothes to make it seem like he is some kind of scientist.

"Animus, Send the virtual data of the gaussian model, I will deduct it and try to make changes" then Alex waved his hand and the virtual model of the Gauss rifle appeared in the air.

The model was 6 feet long and 1 foot wide in length. Instead of calling it a rifle, it can be called a cannon. Alex then divided the virtual model to various sections and saw the entire internal model of the Gaussian rifle. The rifle has a long metallic rod with 22 rolls of copper coils winded around it, each about 5 inches wide. It consists of ten of the 1000 AMP power batteries providing 10,000 amps of power for the weapon, it was why it was so bulky and heavy, and the batteries seemed to made of solid-state lithium which are more stable and has higher charge capabilities.

Alex then controlled the model and reassembled it, and then tested the weapon to measure its power and capabilities.

The weapon shot a metal slug of 1-kilo grams with a max force of its capability of 2600m/sec. He then continued testing with several weights to fully understand the capabilities of the weapon. At last with a weight of 500 grams, the metal slug went out with a speed of 2400m/sec, at the same time the weapon cracked and blasted into pieces unable to handle the charge and force produced.

Alex smiled contently as he watched the data, the final shot had produced an approx force of 1.4million joules, but the weapon got destroyed entirely due to materials notwithstanding the force produced.

"This is some excellent stuff. I can swap the entire weapon with the Nanites and it will then become the first-ever hand-held electromagnetic weapon that is practical and has destructive force no less than some small missiles. He then changed the original virtual weapon model to be based on Nanites. The Nanites are superconducting materials, and they can store energy inside them, so there was no need for any extra battery space needed.

The final product shrank a little compared to before, looking much more like a rifle than before and seemed to be something out of a sci-fi game. The weapon changed to three feet long with half feet wide and looked seamlessly connected. As the Nanites can be transformed into anything they wanted, there is no need of them dividing into separate parts.

He then tested the Nanite weapon model with its maximum capability, after seeing the end data his mouth hung wide open with shock. At max power of 10000 AMP, the weapon was able to release 2.5 kilos of a projectile at the speed of 4700 m/sec. It produced a force of 27.4 million joules and its still not the end capability of weapon, as the lack of energy suppresses its power.

If it's not for the purpose of hand-held, with enough materials Nanites can transform into a huge cannon of dozens of meters long, which can then even be used to shoot down the satellites in space with their powerful kinetic force.

Alex smiled in excitement after looking at the data and the capabilities of the weapon, "This is bloody comparable to missiles, not something that is hand-held and used" muttered Alex to himself as he thought of scenarios, where he uses the weapon to blast the organization to smithereens.

As he was lost in thoughts Animus reminded, "Commander, it is recommended to stop using Virtual space, energy levels are getting depleted."

"Thanks for reminding Animus, please close the Virtual space, my work is complete". Replied Alex as he returned back from the virtual space.

He then willed the Nanites to turn into the devoured Gaussian weapon and watched with glee as it turned was being transformed. Then, just after transforming to 60%, they stopped due to insufficient materials.

"Tch, It seems I can't see the huge weapon, I will just use the perfected version then". Alex clicked his tongue and thought as Nanites transformed into the perfected weapon.

Alex lifted the transformed weapon with both hands and held it in a shooting position and thought, "I should design an exoskeletal armour for myself, my body can only handle the forces of heavy weaponry recoils, anything above that I can't use it unless I use it as an automated weapon."

"Even thought it's named as perfected weapon it's nothing more than using Nanites to entirely solve the problem of material strength and higher charge battery power."

As he was lost in thoughts, the doorbell of the house rang. Alex then turned the Nanites back to normal and let them charge, and walked towards the door.
