Lucifer pt. 1

Anagi smiled and took my hand allowing me to pull her from her chair. "Let's go." I smiled and held her at arms length and activated some energy. 'Lord Death? Im going to the Silver City to have a talk with the Creator I should be back by tomorrow.' I heard a grunt of approval before Lord Death's voice filled my mind. 'That's fine, would you mind taking Loralie along with you? She seems quite adamant with sticking close to you since her return from Earth.' I agreed and started to make my way to the Scale headquarters where I knew Lord Death and the rest of the commanders would be for Gorg's trial.

On the way there Anagi and I caught ourselves up with memories of the past reminiscing on times before we were high ranking individuals in our respective areas. After about twenty minutes of walking we reach the Scale headquarters and the guards of the headquarters salute me before opening the door to let us pass. I nodded my thanks as we walked into the headquarters and saw Gorg chained to the floor infront of the four commanders and Lord Death who had Loralie to his left and an empty chair to his right where I was supposed to be seated. "Lord Auris, good we're about to finish and I'd like your vote please." Lord Death held his hand towards the empty chair as every reaper in the room saluted my arrival.

I nodded and took my seat as Tristan spoke up. "On behalf of Scale squad I would like to thank you, Lord Auris, for coming to the trial. Now former commander Gorg you have been accused of neglect of a subordinate, a recruit no less, and improper command and placement of your subordinates causing the death's of multiple fellow reapers. How do you plead?" Gorg just sat there motionless and slack jawed staring into Lord Death's eyes. "Answer Gorg." Lord Death's voice seemed to cause Gorg to break down his cries of anguish making the lesser reapers wince at the cries of pain and sorrow where as the commanders, Lord Death, and I just looked down upon the now blubbering mess that was once a proud commander.

Lord Death stood from his chair and pulled his scythe out of thin air and pointed it at Gorg as he spoke loudly so everyone heard him. "Gorg you are hereby found guilty and your punishment will be executed immediately. You are to be wiped from existence, you will not be granted access to heaven or hell. You will simply be gone any apposed?" He looked around daring anyone to challenge his punishment. A smile crept of Gorg's face as he started to laugh like a maniac. Lord Death just shook his head and Gorg's body was engulfed in blue flames causing his laughter to turn to a blood curling scream. "Goodbye Gorg." Lord Death whispered simply into the air.

Lord Death then turned to the commanders and I saw his eyes grow brighter. "Let this be an example to all of you. You are the leaders, you are these young reapers guides. Do not do as Gorg did treat your subordinates with the same amount of respect that they show you." Björn and Paula seemed unphased but I noticed Tristan seemed to wince a little. The fire in his eyes died down and he turned to me. "Auris my boy you may take Loralie with you now. The rest of you, dismissed!" With that he disappeared in a poof of grey smoke and left us alone.

"Lord Auris what just happened?" Loralie asked as both her and Anagi came to my side as I stood. She looked confused looking between the pile of ash that was Gorg and me. "When you break one of Lord Death's rules the most severe punishment is death without rebirth; there is no heaven or hell, just nothing. Since I've been a reaper I've only seen it happen twice the last one was Lord Deaths previous right hand who tried to steal souls and sell them to a demon to grant him power." Loralie simply looked down and Anagi put her hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry lamb you get to see the Silver City today come on well get ready while Auris goes to talk to Lord Death." She winked at me and took Loralie to my chambers to get her ready for the trip.

I started to make my way to Lord Death's office when I was stopped by the Coffin commander, Perius, looking glum. "Lord Auris, may I have a word?" He seemed more formal than his usual laid back behavior. I nodded and he began to speak. "Lord Auris why was I chosen to be commander? there are for more capable reapers in my squad." I laid a hand on his shoulder and made him look me in my eyes. "Because Perius you are an excellent reaper, in all your missions you have shown that you're more than capable a fighter, your kulling is simply the best in Coffin, and you're always willing to lay down your life to protect your fellow squad mates. That is why I chose you Perius." I smiled at him and released his shoulder and grabbed a few coins from inside my pocket and handed them to him. "Go get you something to drink, I'll catch you around."

As he walked away I started again to make my way to Lord Death's office and in a few minutes I found myself at the entrance. Björn and Paula were standing guard and both had grim looks on their faces. "Lord Auris," both of the commanders saluted and opened the door for me, "Lord Death is expecting you." As I walked in they closed the door and I saw Lord Death looking over some scrolls flickering between his human form and his original form.

"Auris, my boy," He didn't even look up instead motioning to the chair, "Sit." I did as I was told and he pulled a golden scroll from under his desk. "This was sent to me, and to all the other leaders stating that the first Horseman has been found, and that you are on your way to the Nineth Circle, to find the second Horseman. It also states that you know the names and locations of all of the Horseman. Would you mind telling me which of your reaper brother's or sister's will be the final Horseman?" He glared into my eyes seeming to burn a hole into my soul as I stared back. "My Lord, the reaper Horseman is Loralie." He looked down a little as if in deep thought.

"Very well, just wanted to make sure the Creator wasn't trying to steal my Right hand." I thought back to my last conversation with the Creator and decided to ask Lord Death about the day I became a reaper. "If I may Lord Death, the Creator told me to ask you about the day I became a reaper and why you owed him." Lord Death turned to his human form and slumped back in his seat. "I'll make you a deal Auris, you finish your mission for the Creator and I'll divulge the information you seek." With a nod I stood and walked out the room more confused than I'd ever been.

I pulled out my scythe and opened a rip connected to my room stepping through I found both Anagi and Loralie packed and ready to go. Loralie had changed into a simple black sun dress with her scythe strapped to her side and a small bag containing a change of clothes, some snacks, and a map of the abyss that we'd be traveling. Anagi on the other hand was wearing a simple grey t-shirt with a pair of white skinny jeans that had holes everywhere and a small knife on her hip along with a book on the opposite hip. Her back was similarly packed as Loralie's and my own which was laying on my bed.

"Are you ready Auris?" My name dripped from her tongue like honey from a honey spoon. I shivered slightly and grabbed a change of clothes and walked towards the bathroom. "I'll be ready in a few." I stated simply still trying to wrap my head around my earlier conversation with Lord Death.

Once I was changed into a pair of black jeans and a loose black t-shirt I pulled my bag over my shoulder and pulled out a scroll that had 'flight' on it. "So Loralie have you ever flown before?" I asked handing her the scroll. She seemed confused as she studied the scroll. "No Lord Auris, I didn't know it was possible to be honest." Anagi snickered and jumped a few feet off the ground and hovered there. "Normally regular reapers can't fly as most of you were once human, same goes for the servants of Lady Life, only Lord Death's commanders and Right hand can naturally fly, and only Lady Life's Right hand can fly. But as you can see a flight scroll will give even a nobody human the ability to fly as long as they have it in their possession." I saw a smile creep onto Loralie's face as Anagi taught her how to activate the scroll. Once Loralie was stable enough to fly without falling out of the air we made our way to the entrance to Caemeterium
