The Truth about the Necklace

The week is over and I'm packing my bag to go back, Kaname couldn't find anything in the office and plans to leave tomorrow. There still any sign of Mom, I honestly thought by now she'd at least text me. Ever since Gem got back from the shinigami realm she's been really quiet and constantly looks around. Every time I mention it she tells me I'm imagining it and that we should cut my training short. I know for a fact there's something she's not telling me but I'm not going to ask about it just yet. As I'm thinking if I should ask Gem about her weird behavior, there's a knock on the door.

"Come in" I say without looking at the door, continuing to pack my bag.

"Lady Karma, I have a surprise for you"

"What's the surprise Asagi?" I say still packing my bag.

"When your finished packing come downstairs alright" I look at Asagi who has a smile on his face as he exits my room.

"What do you think that's about Gem?" Gem stays silent looking around the room. "Earth to Gem!" I say as I wave my arms from side to side. Gem still looks around the room as if she's ignoring me. "So be it then" I zip up my bag and walk out of the room. As I'm walking down the stairs, I noticed that I wasn't the only one with a bag, all Mom's staff had one too. When I got downstairs,I saw Kaname talking on the phone, when he say me he hung up and looked down at his phone.

"Ready to go?" Kaname asked me without looking up.

"Almost Asagi said he had a surprise for me" I set down my bag next to Kaname. "Do you know where he is?"

"Probably packing up with the chef"

"Packing up?"

"Yeah everyone's coming to live with us, since Mom is out I arranged for everyone to come over to Father's and work there for the time being and maybe Mom might come back to live with us too."

"Really that's great but what about the business?"

"That's what I'm dealing with right now, I don't need to be there in person for the time being so I'll go to Father's and take calls for the business. If I'm needed I'm hoping a certain someone can get me there and back easily." Kaname said looking at me smiling.

"I'm going to find Asagi," I say walking away giggling. I walk into the dining hall to find Asagi talking with the Chef, I want for them to finish their conversation and Asagi walks up to me.

"Come with me," Asagi walks into the study and I follow him. As I step inside the room memories of studying with my brother and sister came back to me. I look at the small round table the 3 of us would sit at and listen to Asagi teach us. "Nostalgic, isn't it?" Asagi snaps me out of my memories.

"Yea it is" I look at Asagi who reaches into a drawer and takes out a small charm. It was a golden sun.

"I wanted to give you this before we leave, you can attach it to your necklace."

"Thanks, Asagi it's so beautiful" Asagi places the charm in my hand and I stare at it.

"Lady Karma, I have something to tell you about that necklace and its charms"

"Really, other than it being pretty?"

"Yes, that necklace is special" Asagi then looks around and puts his hand on my head. Asagi does this to activate his power, he can use telepathy when touching a person. I close my eyes and wait for Asagi to send the message.

*Inside their heads*

"Karma that necklace has 3 charms, yin and yang, a sun and a moon."

"3 charms? Where's the third one?"

"I don't know where the third one is but this necklace gave your Mother unspeakable power."

"I thought Mom had no powers"

"She did but she had to keep this necklace a secret. Karma right now it looks as though I'm just patting you on the head but someone is watching you. I don't know who but I can feel a pair of eyes on us as we speak."

"Seriously? That's probably why Gem was acting so weird. We should get going before whoever is watching gets suspicious."

Asagi removes his hand from my head and I put the sun charm on my necklace.

"Thanks again for the charm Asagi," I say with a big smile.

"OKAY EVERYBODY LETS GO" Kaname yells throughout the house. Asagi looks at me and puts his finger to his lip, I assume that's his way of saying I can't tell anyone about the necklace. I nod to Asagi and we both leave the room.
