The Beginning And The End

Ever since Katakuri was a kid, he always knew he was a freak, a monster. Mother always made sure he knew it too.

At first, he wasn't convinced he was one. Because he was just like every other person except for his mouth and his addiction to donuts.

As he gradually began to be aware of his surroundings, he soon noticed the word monster was following him everywhere.

The whispers, the murmurings, the pointings...and he is in the middle of everything. Even if it's so, he still thinks he's the same as everyone.

People feared him and shunned him. Kids cry when they saw him. Teenagers ran away at the sight of him. Adults curse at him. But so what?

It's a given the weak feared the strong. They get beaten up every time they called him a monster straight in his face. So, they sorted to whisper behind his back.

Typical weak-minded but ill-intended people.

So, he's not convinced he's a freak of nature....up until that point.

His dear, dear sister got hurt because of him. Because he's an abnormality. Because he is a monster.

When he found out the people who hurt Brûlée are the same people he beat up a week ago -

He snaps.

He willingly chooses to become a monster.

He searches for those people and ends them once and for all.

Later, he covered his mouth and became a perfect brother, perfect son, a perfect soldier who protected those people that once called him a monster just so he could protect his siblings.

He successfully protects his hometown island which is filled with bittersweet memories for over 40 years...until he came crushing in his life.

Monkey.D.Luffy is an enigma. He is very easy to understand but at the same time, very very difficult. His motives and ambitions are very crude and simple but they worked every single time.

He knew straw hat luffy is strong after he emerged from two-year hiatus. A pirate from one of the worst generations is naturally strong but they still are immature compared to him.

He already sent countless delusional pirates who have the audacity to challenge mother to after-life.

So, it came as no surprise when straw hat luffy pick up a fight with mother. But, saying he will become a pirate king to one of the yonkos straight in their face...heh, he sure has guts.

Just from looking at the wanted poster alone, he knew straw hat luffy was a simple-minded idiot who came to the new world with a bit of strength and a lot of luck.

'He's a naive fool' Katakuri concluded.

Straw hat luffy came for his nakama, black leg sanji. But he easily got captured by one of his siblings.

Katakuri was left disappointed.

Since he dared to sprout those words to mother, he thought the man would at least, have the necessary strength to put up a good fight. But no.

And, the straw hat luffy was locked in the cell for good.

So, it came as a surprise to him when straw hat luffy came crushing to a wedding, literally and figuratively.

Straw hat luffy won the fight with him, with surprisingly wit, strength and sheer fucking will.

Katakuri knew by then, straw hat luffy was a charismatic madman. He made people unconsciously want to follow him, no matter heaven or hell.

Katakuri was severely punished by mother as he failed to kill straw hat luffy and let him successfully escaped from the whole cake island, and also because he disgraced her.

From then on, Katakuri kept track of the information on straw hat luffy.

After he, the rest of the siblings, and the world found out mother was taken down by straw hat, his siblings wanted to go after him and wanted Katakuri to take charge since he's the oldest and strongest of the remaining people.

For the first time in his life, Katakuri was torn between choosing his heart or his duty. But after seeing his siblings' faces, he put aside his heart and took charge of the army who wanted revenge and went after straw hat.

From then on, it was the start of chaos and madness.

Final war came and marines, revolutionaries, pirates, and every person from all walks of life who had the power and desire for freedom, dominance, revenge, and blood were all present here.

His siblings dropped down one by one like flies. Unknowingly, he was the only person left of big mom's pirate.

Minute after minute, he counted the time with his heartbeat to try to hold on and to soothe his anxiety and guilt...

This is all his fault. His siblings died because he was induced by their thirst for revenge and blood. Mother was taken down because he loses to a mere pirate. Big mom pirates got obliterated because he is an incompetent leader.

In the end, it all came down to this point because he's weak. Because he's a monster who brings misfortune to people around him no matter where he goes.

In the end, when he's just about to be killed off by one of the no-named Blackbeard pirates, he was saved by..straw hat.

Straw hat is the emboîtement of chaos, madness, and confusion, the one person he swore to killed, the one person he admired, the one person he ever loved.

That one person is in front of him with a blindingly beautiful radiant smile while the background is decorated with blood, and debris, people fighting each other in madness filled with a depressing atmosphere, with the ground filled with countless corpses.

He looked like a devil disguised as an angel from the way he behaved and spoke.

Katakuri, former enemy and still, was offered an alliance with the straw hat to fight the war.

...Sometimes he wants to know what's inside straw hat's brains, probably just straws.

According to straw hat and his chaotic group's plan, he will have an opportunity to fight one on one with straw hat after they won the war as thanks to Katakuri for helping out.

What a ridiculous offer. Of course, he said yes.

When he said yes, part of it was because of his brain shutting down, and part was because he really wants to kill straw hat.

While he accepts the offer, he really didn't expect the plan to work so well...except with one variable.

In front of him were the straw hat pirates, the few remaining straw hat fleet, and his allies scattered around while cheering and weeping for their victory.

He really didn't expect the poorly planned plan to execute so well because all he did was bring misfortune to people around him but this time...it was finally his turn.

Katakuri's vision dimmed far more than while he was still fighting and he could only see blurred silhouettes. His body feels bone-crushing pain, at the same time very heavy and cold. He staggered and he could only look at the situation with hopelessness and despair.

The man he chased from far more than two seas for months, for revenge, for his siblings, for....is only a hand length away.

But he can't do anything as straw hat will be slipped away this time too, and he knows well enough there is no more next time.

Katakuri's vision completely faded as he collapsed backward unsightly. It is truly a pity he can't kill straw hat to accompany him in after-life.

'Don't cry...I'll soon be there. This time, we siblings will never be separated anymore'

As his consciousness gradually faded away, he heard rapid footsteps coming towards his way.

He slowly smiled, his scarf used to hide his mouth had already been tattered and lost in an unknown time during the war, his inaudible voice whispered to the wind as his consciousness completely faded.

     "Long live the pirate king"

     "Long live the mad man"

    "Long live...".....my beloved luffy..
