The beginning of the end

''Hey'' let's start from the beginning, if I tell you I'm a regular 16 years old guy who lives a normal life, you probably not going to believe me, I'm the main character, I'm not supposed to have a normal life, so yeah, I'm not telling you that, I will allow you to judge my life, and you tell me if it's normal or not. So what are we waiting for, let's start...

I was born in Liweskiv, or maybe you know it as the underground or the upside-down or whatever other names people gave it. For a lot of humans, Liweskiv doesn't exist, it's just a myth, or it used to exist in the other time-line.

A long time ago, the world was a beautiful place with no wars, no misery, no crimes, and definitely no superpowers, just peace everywhere and simple life.

But everything has an end, because one day, some mysterious cards start falling from the sky, it was the beginning of the end. On the same day a big counter showed up from nowhere which everyone could see, also there was a stranger's voice that yelled so loud that every person on the entire planet heard it saying: "Who's lucky enough to collect 21 cards before the end of the time in the counter live to fight another day, this is no joke, the end of the time is coming this time-line is corrupted and it will vanish soon."

The countdown starts, 10 days until it's over.

The rain of cards didn't last forever, it stopped after two hours from its start.

The first day wasn't that bad because after it everything changed. The land of peace became the land of war, the lovely people became criminals and the simple lives were buried under the dust.

Who was so lucky to get more than 21 cards opened a black market and prices were so high.

People were panicking, they didn't know what to do, but you could separate three types of them, the ones who started selling cards, the ones who got the exact amount and hidden until it was over, and the others who didn't do anything from day one, I'm not talking about who got scared and afraid, I'm talking about the ones who didn't care about this situation and continue living a normal life.

Tick-tock, tick-tock... the time was running out. People were waiting for what was going to happen next. What are these cards? Is it a death or life situation? Who will survive? That types of questions were in everyone's mind.

It's over, time for the truth...

Everyone was teleported to a massive field, where they were 2 portals. The first was for people who had enough cards and the second for those who didn't. But, surprisingly the third type of people who didn't care at all was not counted to enter any of these portals. They were eliminated.

As the voice said before people who get enough cards live to fight another day but those who got eliminated will live to rule another day.
