Ch 11

It has been more than a week since Adel became a disciple. He plan to return home earlier and eradicate the bandits at the foot of the mountain, but he thought that his strength may not suffice so he delayed.

He trained and explored his inherited skills during these pass few days. His cultivation reached the mid-foundation stage and was able to increase his knowledge about his own skills. There were a total of 77 skills in his memory, 7 were detailed, the rest were clouded and he could only discern a few pieces of information. The 77 skills in his God Arsenal does not include the individual abilities of his God Eyes such as controlling Qi, predicting the future, and others.

Out of the seven skills available, the Eternal Orb still remained a mystery to him, until now, he has yet to discover its uses. The others were relatively easy to understand in comparison.

However, from what he had gleamed from the little information in the remaining 70 skills, the Eternal Orb seems to be a core skill that would be significant in the latter stages. Most of the Skills require the mastery of Eternal Orb and he was still clueless as to why.

Adel took all that he might need in the journey home, he brought the bottles of potions and he informed his instructors that he needed to return home as his sister is sick. The instructor nodded in understanding and Adel was allowed to go.

During this time, Jian Chen, his fellow villager, was able to reach foundation stage while others were still struggling.

Adel visited the Array Station where one could rent a Sky strider for traveling. The Sky strider was an array and its outside appearance was that of a cloud. The same one that was used to transport them to the sect.

250 Contribution points for 3 days is quite a cheap sum for Adel who has more than 2000CP recorded in his jade slip. Adel also spent his time doing easy and high reward missions such as finding rare herbs. With his God's eyes, he could easily pinpoint their locations.

Adel successfully rented his Sky strider and rode his cloud towards the village. It took less than an hour and he could already see the outline of the village. Thinking that he might attract unnecessary attention, he descended on the vicinity and shrunk the Sky strider array into his Identity slip, then he walked towards the village.

Nothing has changed except for the atmosphere which has lost its usual liveliness due to the absence of children. Adel navigated through the path without catching anyone's attention and knocked on the door of the house.

"Wait a moment." He could recognize the voice of his father, Fang Hai, behind the door. The door opened and his father appeared. He looked at him for a moment before smiling.

"Fang Ru, welcome back. Jianyun, our son is back!"

His mother appeared soon after carrying his sister who seem to be malnourished and weak. The family enjoyed a simple meal before Fang Ru got to business.

"I have just come back to deliver something, I will return to the sect soon after." Saying so, Adel revealed the bottles in his bag. There were four in total and one was for his sister.

"This is an immortal medicine and could drastically improve the health of the consumer, the liquid one is for little sister."

His parents heard that and seem to heave a sigh. His mother spoke.

"This is very timely. Lately, Li'er has been very sick, we consulted the village doctor and prepared herbal medicine but her condition isn't getting better."

Adel stayed and personally administered the medicine to his sister. After some pleasantries, Adel left.

His parents look at his departing figure with a dazed look. Fang Hai let out a sigh and said.

"Fang Ru is still the same, he is smart but he is somewhat cold and distant. I wish that he was like other children."

Wang Jianyun chided him and said. "Don't say that, it's good for him to be mature early on. I'm sure he would be successful in the future."

Adel did not immediately return to the sect but descended down the mountain. It took him a while before he finally found the bandit's base.

He saw burly men and young boys in a festive mood. There were women among them who caters for their needs. The bandits were in the midst of celebration. They were able to successfully intercept a caravan passing down the road and was able to obtain a sizable amount of wealth.

Adel silently measured the distance and the area, then with a long exhalation, a golden haze completely enshrouded his figure.

He planned to leave no one behind, but just in case that someone survive and might seek revenge, a cover was needed.

A resplendent spear formed on his hand. It emanate with power, and the sheer speed of its rotation tore the air apart. The spear trembled constantly, releasing sounds that was akin to a roar. It was like a wild beast trying to break out of its cage.

Adel lowered the Sky strider, his figure was revealed from the clouds yet no one seem to notice him.

He counted the number of cultivators and found that there were less than ten. The most powerful one was only at the mid Foundation Stage at most. Adel was confident that he could fight them all.

Without any remorse, he poised himself and unleashed the spear with all his might. The spear flew forward with a lightning speed and its howl covered all the noises from below. When the people below finally noticed that something was wrong, it was too late.

The spear descended on them with the might of a storm. A brilliant light filled their visions and it was accompanied by a burning pain all over their body, the impact caused the ground to let loose and their wooden huts burst to ashes. The ordinary mortals did not even have a time to scream as they directly disintegrated. While some cultivators among them indeed retained some of their body parts, they were but lifeless.

The stronger ones survived but was grievously injured. They lay in the dust as flames raged in the surroundings.

Only their leader who has the most energy managed to look at the sky only to find a divine figure shrouded in golden haze.

An inexplicable fear seized his heart. The reality that his family was all gone, along the with his comrades and his home, has yet to sink into his mind. It all happened suddenly and he even wondered if it was just a nightmare.

"D-damn it, who are you?"

Yet the unforgiving figure did not answer him and conjured another spear in his hand.

He was a bandit and he was usually the side who was assaulting, who drove their victims to despair, and now he knew how those people must have felt.

"Brother Wolf, can you still move?"

The bandit leader mustered his strength to stand up. His body was complete and yet most of it was burned. His eyes were nearly blinded and the previous impact also ruptured his internal organs. Still, he was a Foundation Stage expert, his vitality was strong.

The two beside him were his deputies. Wolf was still alive, but the other one named Liang Meng was on the brink of death, one side of his face was destroyed.

That single attack killed everyone except for the 3 people.

Adel's eyes found them and prepared for another round.

"Coward! Come here and fight us if you dare!" Yelled the leader.

Adel was still on the sky and a Foundation stage expert has no way of retaliating. The poor bandits obviously didn't have a flight artifact.

"Bastard, you killed all my men and my family, duel me if you even have a shed of honor!" The leader screamed madly, but Adel has no intention of discussing values with a bandit. Beside, he was uneasy at the sight of blood. Killing at a distance makes it less personal.

The bandit leader exhausted all his strength yelling and he even cried in frustration. He yelled curses and all kind of profanities at him. He did all he could to provoke Adel.

When he was tired, he yelled out once more. "I, Li Long, curse you and your family! May you suffer the same fate. I shall await you in the depths of hell!"

Adel was amused at the guy, at least he was self aware that he deserves hell.

Adel could just wait for them to die, the other has already passed away as the leader was screaming at him, but he was worried that someone has already noticed the commotion.

Adel was about to hurl the spear but he saw the other guy beside the bandit leader, the one called Wolf. He was already unconscious.

He threw the regular spear to the sky and conjured numerous spears with small sizes and they simultaneously pierced into the bandit leader who had no strength left to dodge.

He frowned when he saw the grizzly scene. The bandit leader couldn't be any more deader than he was now.

Adel descended to the flames and salvaged the potential specimen with him before leaving.

After a few moment, dozens of wandering immortals arrived at the scene of destruction and they were utterly horrified.

"If I am not mistaken, this is the base of the Black Wolf gang. I just passed by this place a while ago and it already turned like this?"

There were no house standing and even the ground was burning. It was like a storm had razed the village and a large vitrified crater lay in the center.

"I can't say they didn't deserve it but even the mortals weren't spared."

The old man among them said with sadness and pity.

The forces from the sect soon arrived and carried out investigations. It wasn't throughout and they found nothing, except that the attack came from above.

"With this might, the attacker is at least a Core Formation expert." They concluded and returned as though nothing happened. No one would offend such figure for the sake of mere bandits.
