Why?

Because she got dumped by the red haired boy that she loved for sixth years long. The boy who gave her the false hope, even kissed her on their last fight over Voldemort. He raise her hopes as high as the sky, but push her down as deep as the sea.

He told her it was a mistake. A big bad mistake that he've ever done. Saying he didn't have slightest interest on her, just got too caught up on the moment. Kissing Hermione Jean Granger is his biggest mistake ever.

Hermione's heart teared apart, her guard fall down, her tears didn't stop falling for this guy. Her bestfriend didn't have any courage to help him, tried their best but just can't choose side.

As she fell apart, she chose to stay one more year at her sixth years long home. Maybe she'll stop crying over him, have the new life. Maybe even find someone else. Maybe she can.

He tried his best to keep a steady life, trying to be a better person. He wanted to but not a single person willing to give him a chance. His one and only true friend, Blaise Zabini, is the only place that he could depend and keep himself strong to live his life. At least for his mother.

As he got rejected from Ministry of Magic to become an auror, he thought maybe coming back to Hogwarts is the only chance he have to prove himself. But little that he knew, it might be the biggest chance of his life. Little that he knew, he'll found his life there. Little that he knew, he'll be able to smile again.
