19 Chapter 19 - Who's Pregnant?

The clam doctor was tiredly swimming back to his home. He slowly wiped combed through his matted hair and sighed.

Three days, that's how long that meeting went on for. Normally a meeting with the elders would usually be one day long, but since it was a special case of pregnancy, the elders were through in their research.

The end result of the intensive research really explained the mysterious fiver of ice and fire as well. It was all a side effect of pregnancy. If it was a usual child who started cultivating in womb then they would have simply suggestion aborting and let it be, but since both Wren and Hachin had such diverse reaction they had to do more research.

And what they found astonished them.

The child was indeed a great beast's offspring. As for whose it was, it was easy to find. Three months ago during the heavenly rain only two beasts were spotted, the heavenly phoenix and the great golden Roc, both of which have cultivated for more than thousands of years.

But an even deeper investigation reviled that the golden Roc was searching for a certain member of the oyster clan and that he had swum under to find him.

Thankfully the Mer's had their back and saved them of the catastrophe.

But even so, this pregnancy would create to even more trouble. Since this beast is aware that the oyster is with his child, abortion will only enrage it.

After a long discussion, they finally come to a decision.

The clam doctor nodded to himself and slowly swam over to the familiar household. As he was passing by, he saw a lot of warriors swimming around frantically. He stopped one of them. "What's going on?"

"We are searching for a missing person."

"Oh," the clam nodded and walked over to Hachin's house. The house was locked. He waited for a while but he did not get any reply. 'Wren and Hachin are friends, right? He might be at his place,'

He casually swam over to Wren's place. Before he could even knock, the door opposed from the other side. "Did you find any clues?" Ren anxiously whispered.

"Ah Ren, is Hachin here...." before he could even finish he was dragged in.

Ren anxiously pranced around while Diago sobbed loudly. Their mother was trying to calm him down.

"Whoa, what's going on?"

"Wren ran away," Ren mumbled, holding his head.

"Oh, why that silly brat, this is the fine time for him to cultivate. Instead, he ran away. What is this punk thinking," the clam doctor mumbled to himself.

Diago started sobbing louder. "It was because of me!! I forced him that's why!!!" he hugged his mother tighter.

The clam doctor did not get the context of the conversation, so he remained quiet. "Umm... do you guys know where Hachin is?"

Ren stopped and sighed even louder. "He ran away with Hachin,"

"what!!! What is this, a romance novel or something? Why would he run away when he is pregnant, huh? This is so dangerous," the clam doctor cried out loud.

As soon as he uttered the word pregnant, Diago sobbed louder.

"It's all my fault!!! He ran away because I forced him to abort!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!"

The clam looked at him weirdly. "Why did you ask him that? I know that you guys are close, but asking him that is rude," he mumbled.

"But your report said...."

"My report!! I told my assistant not to send it!! That forgetful Clam I'm going to roast him, I tell you," the doctor raged.

Ren's eyes turned slightly hopeful. "So there is a chance that the child can survive,"

"The child HAS to survive. You don't know Ren, that child is a very powerful beast's offspring. We can't just abort it,"

"The report said that it would be a risk for life," Diago silently sniffed.

"Yeah, but we found a way to rectify it," the doctor proudly said. "The child has started cultivating even before birth so it needs the nurture of both the parents. The leaders have decided to send Hachin to his mated pair to nurture the baby. After birth the child shall be with whoever it pleases."

Ren's eyes narrowed. "Why are you sending Hachin?"

"Of course to have the baby."

"But its Wren who's pregnancy,"

The doctor blinked. "What is this nonsense you guys are talking about, huh? Wren is pregnant? He just advanced to Qi condensing stage how can he be pregnant." He scoffed slightly. Only after saying this did he notice the faces of the Qu family change drastically.

Ren rushed to him and held his shoulders. "so... Wren is not pregnant?"

"No!"

Diago, who was wailing like a ghost, also ran to him and looked intently into his eyes. "Hachin is the one who is pregnant?"

"Yes? Didn't you guys say that you got the report why are you so confused?"

Ren tiredly sat down on the chair and Diago just blinked blankly. "What the fuck!! Your report is shit!!!"

The doctor was startled by this cry. "My report is immaculate. How can you say that!!!"

Diago threw the report at him. "Look what you wrote. It's because of this Wren ran away,"

The doctor doubtfully opened it up. "This is Hachin's report. Why....." then he saw the name tag. "I'm going to fire my dumb assistant."

"I'm sorry for the mishap but it was all a clam's error."

"Yes it is!! My brother has run away with a—a pregnant oyster in tow!! And Hachin doesn't even know he is pregnant!! Fuck your error!!" Ren, who was always calm, shouted aloud.
