18 Chapter 18 - Run Run Run.....

Hachin explained the whole process of childbirth to him. All alone wren's face went white to blue to pink. It was a varied reaction than he had expected. "Wren, I talked to Burni."

Wren sat up straight. "What did he say?"

"He said that only spiritual energy can nurture the child. It has to be either your own or your other partner's spiritual energy." He paused and peered into wren's hesitant eyes. "Your cultivation is just the foundation stage, just as Burni's wife. That helped her last only a month, after which Burni had to use his spiritual energy to....."

"Don't say any more. I understand." Wren lowered his head and dwindled with his thumb.

"Please listen to me. There is no other way out of this. If..... if you want a child we can have a child. I can give you a child wren so please Let's... let's not have...."

Wren hugged him tightly. "Hachin, you are the most amazing person it is world." He leaned back and kissed his cheeks. "Thanks for the offer but I want to keep this child."

"Wren~ why do you still choose to go through with it? Am I not important to you? Are you family not important?"

"Whoa, whoa, wait, listen well. I love my family and I love you, my darling friend. But I do not wish to choose either of you. I don't want to choose. Because I already have a way to safely have this kid." he happily pinched his cheeks.

"Ah? How?"

"You said the solution yourself. I just have to find the other parent of this child. As far as I know that beat that day was a bird, no there were two huge birds fighting mid sky. Most likely that kind of beast must have cultivated to at least a thousand years old. With that person's help I can easily deliver this child,"

Wren calmly whispered whilst chewing the tasty piece if meat. Recently his cultivating had soared, and so did his hunger. He ate with gusto and glanced at Hachin's stunned face.

"Wren..... You are a genius. What you said is completely right!! If the other partner is a powerful beast he would be able to provide you with the spiritual energy to nurture your child till full term!" Hachin hugged him tight.

But suddenly, his excitement slowly withered away. "But how will we find the other father? Even if we find him, what if he doesn't accept the child? What if..."

Wren pinched his mouth shut. "Let's not think of what ifs now. First let's plan our way back to the surface. We will definitely find him there."

And so the two little oysters thought of plans on how to escape brother Diago's watch.

After talking for quite a while, both of them grew tired and slept off.

Diago silently peered inside.

"How is he?" his mother whispered from behind him.

"He is doing good.... he is healthy...."

"That's good." she let out a breath of relief. "And you go to sleep. Wren is not a child; he won't do anything reckless."

Diago frowned slightly. "Mum, you know about him. When he sets his mind on something, he would do crazy shit to achieve it. I just fear he might....."

"Don't worry so much. Go to sleep now." she pushed him to his room and glared at him.

Diago silently closed his eyes.

By the middle of the night, Hachin woke up with a small pain in his underbelly. Grimacing, he sat up. 'Why is it hurting here?' he touched the flabby skin and massaged it.

"What's wrong?"' wren groaned awake.

"My tummy hurts a bit."

"It's the octopus." Wren said, and went back to sleep.

"But I didn't even eat any." Hachin slowly got down from the bed and went over the bathroom outside the room. Unexpectedly, the hall was empty. He peaked into the room opposite to them to see the second oldest Qu member sleeping soundly. 'Brother Diago is asleep. This is a chance'

After finishing his business as silent as he could, he ran back to wren's room. "Wren, wren, your brother is asleep."

Wren sat up immediately. "His guard is down. Now is our chance to run away."

"Yes, you pack your things here. Let's go pick some things from my room as well and set off," Hachin excitedly said.

"Whoa, I am going alone though,"

Hachin glanced back at him with his mouth wide open. "Little buddy, you are not going anywhere without me."

"But the surface is dangerous. Why should you...."

"You would do it for me, right? If it was me who was pregnant would have come along with me,"

"Of course I would have."

"Then that's settled. Get packing." Hachin started packing a few clothes and food that he could find in wren's room. "Why do you have more snacks than clothes?"

Wren rolled his eyes. "Diago thought I was dying of hunger, so he gave me a lot of food. I think this would be enough for our trip to the surface." he happily packed a new pack of dried octopus.

Hachin paused. "Wren... is it okay to run away like this? Your family would worry a lot."

Wren sadly sat down. "I don't know what else to do, Hachin. I love my family to the core but if I stay I would have to lose my child." he silently gazed at the packs of food in his room. "I..... Am I doing something wrong? Is it wrong to choose this child I barely know over my family?"

Hachin hugged him. "I don't know either."

And so the two oysters left their house in the middle of the night. They expertly swam away from the patrol members and out of their borders.

Back in the house, Diago suddenly woke up and glanced around. Something felt weird. He ran back to his brother's room and silently peered in. But he was not able to see anyone.

"Wren?" he walked in to see a small scroll that was snugly placed on the bed-side table. It was his pregnancy report. {'I don't choose either. I want my family as well as my child so i'm going on a journey to find my baby daddy. Wish me luck~"}

Diago's hands trembled slightly. "MUM!! WREN RAN AWAY!!!"
