A NEW AGE II

[**Flashback narrative**]

The energy blast spread from the cliffside, its destructive force reaching every corner of the earth.

Enzo, Jiele, and Nero, who had been captured, were taken to an underground research facility in the city. The passages of the facility were grim reminders of cruelty, with several anomaly test subjects enduring immense torture for research purposes in different rooms.

Among the test subjects, Jiele's heart sank as she witnessed a man being subjected to brutal procedures. His cells regenerated, healing his wounds as they were inflicted, sealing up the gaps left by the impaling and amputation. Another unfortunate soul was drained of their unique bodily fluid as it reproduced almost instantly. Innocent and guilty anomalies alike were confined within the facility's walls.

Enzo, Jiele and Nero were thrown into different cells, with Enzo and Jiele's cells facing each other and Nero's at the far end of the room.

Each cell in the room was made of a highly reinforced glass, all arranged and positioned parallel to each other. There were more than a hundred cells arranged neatly in the large room, each confining an anomaly. The cell blocks built in with a device that emitted a type of radiation which impaired the abilities of the few anomalies.

A couple of days passed as they lay in their cells, lacking strength, awaiting their impending doom.

Just then, an earthquake shook the entire city. Waves of energy flooded through the facility, causing chaos.The trio felt a surge of energy pass through them as the waves advanced through the room.

Immediately, a riot ensued in the hallways. Equipments shattered as anomalies used as test subject broke free, killing all those who tortured them. The quake had caused distortions in the facility which in turn caused equipments and amenities to lose their integrity leaving everywhere in disorientation.

The devices in the cells where the anomalies were kept deactivated, causing anomalies to break free from the confinement.

Immediately, the aomalies began wrecking havoc, attacking the staffs and SYND personnels that had oppressed them, causing a lot of chaos within the facility.

Anarchy ensued as the anomalies broke free, taking out vengeance on those who had tortured them.

Enzo, Jiele, and Nero struggled to wield their powers, their energy reserves depleted.

Surprisingly, some Syndicate and District Incorporation personnel began manifesting powers akin to anomalies, seemingly affected by the waves that mutated them.

The SYND, gaining new confidence, retaliated against the emerging anomalies, creating a chaotic battlefield where new anomalies and the old clashed.Although the SYND were not masters of their abilities, they still had an advantage due to their tech, training and skills combined.

"This is our only shot, we have to get out of here!" Enzo exclaimed facing Jiele's cell. He placed his hands on the glass wall, concentrating his focus on his ability to teleport through the wall.

He took several attempts at teleporting but just as he began to phase, he would tire out and stop.

Suddenly an explosion struck an end of the room. A hole had been blown through the wall amiss the chaos by one of the assailants, now allowing anomalies make their way to the surface.

In one last attempt, Enzo focus his entire attention on the glass and his ability to teleport. He instantly whooshed through the glass and appeared on the other side. His confidence grew as he had once again gotten a hang of his powers.

He swiftly whooshed over into Jiele's cell, grabbing her hand and teleporting in an instant out of the cell, bringing both of them into the hallway.

Despite the chaos and scuffle in the passage, they ran across the large room, evading every incoming attacks in a desperate attempt to help Nero.

They successfully approached Nero's cell and was able to get him out.

However, danger struck struck on their way to the exit.

A large number of the creatures that had attacked Myles and Jon previously emerged from the doors at each end of the building, taking a stance, ready to engage the occupants of the room and attack. Viktor Rook, the Syndicate leader, emerged as well in a stylised combat armor leading the mutated creatures.

"It's time..... Eliminate everything!" He commanded as he stood in front of the door at one end, looking into the wide room. The creatures immediately dashed forward, attacking every single life form in the room. They attacked both SYND personnels, anomalies and District inc staffs.

Enzo, Jiele and Nero sighted the horror gaining on them and topped their speed, running towards the opening that led to the hallways of the building.

The creatures left gruesome sights in their wake as they attacked everyone that came across their paths making sure they were terminated of their life.

Enzo grabbed onto Nero and Jiele in an attempt to teleport quickly to the opening. They teleported instantly and materialized a bit off the ground at the other side. Unfortunately for Enzo, he had landed near a collection of scattering furnitures, twisting his ankle bone as he touched down on the ground.

There was no time, the creatures were gaining tightly on their tail. Sighting lesser options, Nero immediately took Enzo up, placing him on his hand.

Together, Nero, Enzo, and Jiele ran through hallways, rushing for the exit, with the creatures hot on their heels. Unfortunately, Jiele tripped and fell behind, endangered by one of the approaching monster.

Nero sighted the scene and in reflex, immediately dropped Enzo to the ground, dashing over to where Jiele was.

In a display of extraordinary power, Nero collided with the creature, decimating it with his touch. Jiele who had still been on the ground, lay in awe, amazed by Nero's hyper-anomaly abilities.

Nero quickly recovered and rushed over, taking Enzo up once again.

"Come on!" He charged, lifting Enzo up as they ran for the exit.

Quickly, they regrouped, determined to find safety.

Reaching the end of the facility, the sight of the outside world came into view.

The city outside mirrored the chaos within, with thick dark clouds looming overhead and flames engulfing the streets. SYND operatives and rebellious citizens clashed, causing further destruction.

"We have to get away from here!" Jiele proclaimed.

Together, she and Nero led Enzo out of the premises, breaking into a nearby car and driving away from the scene, seeking safety from the crumbling city.
