Chapter 1 One Piece? How About Some Sleep?

*Sigh* It's been 19 years since I've been reborn in the world of popular anime One Piece. Some might wonder what amazing things I've accomplished in this time, surely I've done some amazing things. Like becoming an Emperor of the Sea by the age of 10, or maybe I've become one of the strongest marine officers in history, or maybe I'm a scumbag that has seduced a bunch of beautiful women into my harem and become the harem king. Well, everyone who expected that will be incredibly disappointed since I've stayed on a singular island this whole time.

There isn't anything particular special about this island, no hidden treasures, no secret conspiracies, and no crazy strong enemies. If there's something that I would specifically praise about this island, it would be that the weather is nice and a sandy shore is a great place to take a nap in a hammock. I know all the best napping spots because I was abandoned on this island ever since I was a child. There's a small town on the island that isn't too poor or too rich, the rest of the island is just wildlife and greenery. It even has a small Marine base stationed here, in case pirates ever attack. This island is called Mansdosa and it's located pretty early on in the Grand Line.

Now for those who don't know, the sea is divided into five seas by a large landmass that runs around the entire world called the Red Line and strips of ocean known as the Calm Belts. The Four Blues are the four oceans separated by those elements. They're known as the North Blue, South Blue, East Blue and West Blue. Between each of those oceans is the Grand Line, which normally can't be entered through the sea because of the numerous sea monsters in the Calm Belts. The only way to enter the grandline normally is through reverse mountain and the only way to get back to the Four Blues is to risk going through the Calm Belts. The Grand Line is split into two parts: Paradise the first half, and the New World the second.

Mansdosa is located in Paradise, and because of that the pirates located here are much stronger than those in the Four Blues. So, some may wonder if I survived in Paradise by hiding on this island and living the life of an unnamed villager. Well in some ways I have been doing that, and it's all because of a certain perk that came with my reincarnation. Custom Devil Fruit Creation Token, it allows me to create my very own unique devil fruit power within reason. When I was old enough to finally use it I didn't have any inhibitions and made my very own dream devil fruit.

The Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Emperor Phoenix, a mythical zoan with ultimate power. I was even able to remove the sole weaknesses of the devil fruit, the weakness to the sea, seastone and the inability to swim. This isn't the greatest boon of my devil fruit, I have the invincibility of a phoenix and a logia-like body. However, even though I can heal from any condition as long as there is a part of me that remains. I feel all the pain of every wound I'm inflicted with. I'm also capable of controlling different 5 elements, but with my current mastery I can only control two without doing a complete zoan transformation. Which are fire and ice, I can use my flames to either burn, freeze or heal.

Even though I have an SSS-tier power, it didn't make me instantly powerful and even if I can regenerate getting a limb blown off is one of the most frightening pains I had to experience. Which is why I stayed on this island, to train myself into a superpower that could contend with the strongest people on these seas. At least that was my motivation in the beginning, but I couldn't change my slothful nature. How peaceful the world could be if people just took naps instead of fighting all the time, truly a peaceful life. It's this philosophy that helped me awaken my Conqueror's Haki. It started when pirates launched an attack from the shore I was taking a nap on. My anger allowed me to unlock the Kings Color and incapacitate the enemy and make a quick buck.

Even though I'm lazy, I must admit I'm a genius so learning the other types of haki came to me intuitively. My Observation Haki allows me to walk around with my eyes closed by sensing everything in my surroundings in a 200m radius. My Armament Haki is also at a decent level, I can harden my whole body which is good enough for me.

It's because of these advancements in my strength that I have become complacent in my training, as far as I'm concerned I'll just live out the rest of my eternal life. It's really a sweet life, I can buy anything I want with the millions of berries I've earned and I can laze around on this cool tropical island. Not to mention the beauties that have been enamored with my handsome appearance.

I'm 6'2" with smooth ivory colored skin, my hair is long and two-toned, onyx black with sun-kissed blonde tips. I keep it tied at the top and flowing freely on the sides. My eyes are a deep periwinkle color with skinny black eyebrows just above them. I no longer have the flabby dad bod I used to own, but instead a shredded body full of power. I can say with some pride that I'm a highly coveted husband candidate and I've had quite a few one night stands.

Unfortunately my sweet life of debauchery and sloth has come to a screeching halt because of one of my recent one night stands. In front of me stands a tall beauty with long silky black hair, turquoise colored eyes, and a charming smile. But I'm too distracted to appreciate those things, because of what she's just told me. "Kenneth D. Elias, I'm pregnant and you're the father. Take responsibility for your degenerate lifestyle, after all those sweet words you whispered to me that night. It's the least you can do."

She looks familiar, but I can't put a finger on where I've seen her before…

<Flashback>

In a local bar in the town of Dosa on Mansdosa Island, there are two individuals drinking together and there is a pink atmosphere between them. One of them is a raven black beauty and the other is a handsome man with black and blonde two-toned hair. Unfortunately the man is quite drunk and is getting carried away with his words.

"So tell me Eli, if you fell in love with a criminal what would you do? Would you abandon them if the world wanted them dead? After all you bounty hunter types aren't the honorable sorts." Behind her cool exterior you could see a slight anxiety in her eyes and the slightest sliver of expectation.

The drunk bachelor took on a more melancholic expression before he answered. "You know, love is a mysterious thing that makes a lot of people do crazy things. But for me, I like to think of a certain quote when it comes to that scenario. 'Being loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.' So, even if the whole world wanted to take the person I love, I'd face the whole world for them."

The woman's face froze before a warm smile graced her face, and started seeing the bachelor in a more fond light. "Even if that person had a bounty that would entice hundreds of people?"

His expression turned more soft and gave his most charming smile, "You can have all the money in the world but it can't buy you happiness and it certainly can't buy love."

His words made her chuckle softly, "You're such a romantic, don't you feel embarrassed saying such corny lines. How many other women have you wooed with your words?"

Her teasing smile with her accusations made him smile wryly while scratching his head. "You know strangely enough I've never talked about those kinds of things with any other woman. They've always just been attracted by my charming looks. So in a way you could say that our interaction is special."

That night they had a passionate experience of the adult world back at his small home, a night that would make the local housewives blush. In between some sweet nothings and promises were made, but the bachelor had not realized what he promised. Unlike any of the other flings he had, this one ended with them affectionately holding each other as they slept. However, the next day the man woke up alone and with a headache. Not remembering much of last night he simply pushed it aside as a weird lucid dream.

I remember now, she's the one that got away. Even though I was pretty drunk I started to clearly remember the interaction that we had. Someone that I felt a genuine spark with, even though I thought that it was just a dream it was still something I felt was worth remembering. The craziest thing is that I've finally recognized this dream girl of mine. One of the most wanted people on the sea, the Devil Child Nico Robin!

The future is starting to look more tumultuous, but I'm not just going to abandon responsibility for something I'm at fault for. *sigh* Who cares about the One Piece, I just want some sleep…
