They both teleported in a flash of flames and appeared in the middle of the camp. When he vanished Kuroka stopped smiling as she secretly wiped a tear from her face.
'You're still suffering aren't you?'
She was the only one who could tell that something was causing him a rather large amount of trauma. She had no idea what it was, but when he came back she nearly let it slip. She still wondered what happened to him, but until he opened up about it she would not say it to the others.
As for Annabeth, this was the first time she had returned since she was accepted into Grigori. She used to be a rather weak Demigod, but with the blessing of her mother and becoming a Fallen Angel she was far from weak now.
She took a deep breath as it was just how she remembered. Still, this place was her home for so long that it was special to her.
"Kind of nostalgic to be back here."
Kurayami patted her on the shoulder as he knew she was attached to this place.
"Well, you did stay for 6 years. I would assume it would be a nice memory."
She confirmed it.
"It is. Except for a few cases, this was the only home I had for 6 years."
He decided to go see the two caretakers as he had a decent relationship with both of them.
"Let's go see Chiron and Dionysus. I want to take his offer to go drinking."
Annabeth rolled her eyes at that. She missed Chiron, but not Dionysus. The guy was a true prick as he hated demigods, but he was still a god. She was not sure if she herself could take him if they fought as her mind was still on how she used to view the gods.
When they found them they were playing cards, but when Chiron saw Annabeth and Kurayami he got up and galloped to them. He hugged Annabeth tightly as he cared for all the campers. She hugged him back as he was like a good teacher while they were there.
"Lass, I was worried I would never see you again. How was it?"
"It was great Chiron. If not for leaving I would still be ignorant of the real world. I also got engaged with Kurayami."
Chiron glanced at her hand and saw an intriicite Celestial Bronze ring.
"Boy it is one thing to use that for a weapon, but for a wedding ring."
Only now that he got a good look at Kurayami, he nearly had a heart attack when he saw his clothes.
"Where did you get that thing?"
Kurayami glanced at his outfit as it was made from a part of his Chiron's father.
"Azrael gave the material he stole from Tartarus and Azazel made it into armor for me. Why?"
Chiron backed off slightly as he gave Kuraymi some advice.
"I hope you prevent Kronus from ever getting this part back. It has already evolved and adapted to your power and he will get stronger if he reclaims this."
Kurayami had no issue with that as he did not want to lose his outfit.
"He is never getting this back. I like it too much."
Annabeth looked at his outfit as the girls did not know yet what it was made of.
"What is in his armor?'
Kurayami told her himself as he was proud of it.
"It is made from the hyde of Kronus."
She looked at the black garb with pure shock.
"Kronus? The Titan of time?"
Kurayami nodded.
"He must be huge, this small amount won't even bother.
Chiron shook his head as Kurayami did not know how much material and time went into making armor or weapons from the body parts of gods.
"I think Azazel used most of it just for that armor. Even if Kronus returns, he will have to grow back his skin. Treasure it well as the tissue of an immortal is special. As this part has accepted you, it will grow and adapt to your will."
Annabeth wanted to learn more about his new outfit, but first things first she wanted to see her friend.
"Chiron, is Thalia really back?"
"Ay, she is."
Kurayami did not even say anything before Chiron gave him a small warning.
"Not her boy, she is a daughter of Zeus and he would not take kindly to his daughter being poached."
He shrugged and looked over to the god of wine.
"How you been man?"
He gave a big smile with a thumbs up to Kurayami.
"Thanks to you, peachy. It is quiet and peaceful with fewer demigods and I can relax more. Nice clothes, someone is putting that prick to use. Now, if you are here for more demigods, I got a whole list."
He pulled out a large list that had all the names of the current campers on it. Before he could read off from it Chiron snatched it from his hands and threw it in the fire. Dionysus frowned at the sight as he was so close to being free.
With no demigods to look after, why would he have to stay here.
"Fine. Anyway, how is old Azrael? I saw the show he put on, not bad I have to say."
Kurayami shrugged.
"He is the same as always. Been training us ragged."
Dionysus nodded.
"I forgot to say congratulations on your ascension. I would gift you an old wine if i had access to my cellar. If you want to see punk girl go find Peter Johnson and ask him. She has been screaming about rescue missions and stuff."
Annabeth and Kurayami went to go find Percy and Thalia as he was interested in what a daughter of Zeus could do. She had to be quite strong for there to be this much fuss around her. For a demigod that is as most of them barely could access part of their godparents' abilities.
Still seeing Annabeth happy made him happy. Just that his face could not show.
"Kurayami, do you think she will recognize me?"
"If she was turned into a tree she probably had barely any time pass. She must remember you."
Shin nudged her with his snout to cheer her up which worked. She ran her hand down his fluffy back which made him happy. They first stopped at Thalia's tree as Kurayami felt something interesting. There was a baby dragon coiled around it watching them with distrustful eyes.
Kurayami walked over despite it and pet the dragon on the nose. When Annabeth saw the golden fleece on the tree she touched it with her hand feeling the power in it.
"So, how do you think toilet breath did it. Also, Kuroka was not kidding, all animals like you."
Kurayami looked at the dragon and was proud of it.
"They probably do, right bud?"
Since Percy was not here he really thought about how he did it.
"My guess is that he used his hero charm to do it."
"Pff."
She nearly broke out laughing as Percy was not charming.
"Really, hero charm? I bet I got that in spades then."
Kurayami shrugged.
"Who knows, he is the son of Poseidon so he must have been training hard. If he didn't I am going to give him an ass-whooping."
She laughed at the idea as she looked at him.
"You would kill him maybe."
"That means he was too weak to measure up."
Kurayami and Shin began to walk away with her following.
"Come on, he has not taken off the armband I gave him."
They went toward the Poseidon cabin and on the way, Kurayami ran into a familiar face. Silena recognized him at a glance so she ran up and got Kurayami in a big hug. Her arms were around his chest which made her realize how much bigger he was now.
"You are so huge now. How do you just keep growing? Is this part of being a Fallen Angel."
Kurayami hugged her back and she looked at Shin. She felt it was odd that a small dog-like Shin could grow to be so big and ominous. If before he looked cute as a puppy he looked like a demon dog. She hugged Shin as well as he wanted a hug.
"How is he so big already?"
Annabeth did not really get upset when Silena hugged Kurayami. It was not a big deal as she was just being friendly.
"Hi, Silena. How do you know my finance, fish eyes?"
Kurayami frowned at the name.
"Fish eyes?"
Annabeth smiled as she pointed at his eyes
"Your eyes look like a dead fish. Although that black and purple contrast makes them glow in the dark. Never mind very beautiful."
Silena blushed as she felt she hugged someone else's fiance.
"I am so sorry Annabeth. I did not know he was your fiance."
Annabeth didn't mind.
"Don't worry about it. Still, how did you meet him."
Silena started her explanation.
"When the tree was poisoned he came here and he ran into me and my sisters. Back then Shin was just a small puppy the size of a chihuahua. When do you intend to get married?"
Annabeth already had an answer as they wanted it when they were 16.
"When we are both 16. That is the time he is going to do it for all of us."
Silena looked at Kurayami's hands and saw a hand full of rings. She decided to not ask about them as it was not her place to judge another's culture. Still, her gaze was drawn to the cross around Shin's neck.
Shin being the showman raised his neck as he liked his cross. Kurayami decided to ask about how Percy succeeded.
"I hear Percy got the fleece. How did he do it?"
She rubbed the back of her head as she answered.
"As hard as it is to believe Percy, his cyclops brother, and a guy from the Ares cabin all went and managed to get it."
Annabeth and Kurayami looked at each other weirdly.
"Percy and an Ares kid did?"
Silena nodded.
"Hard to believe. If you are looking for Percy he is at stables. He got a pegasus now."
Kurayami and Annabeth went to the stable and they saw Percy who got a new scar on his face along with a black-winged horse. When the horse felt Kurayami it started to speak to Percy.
"BOSS. Boss, Big guy has a yummy aura."
Blackjack left Percy and walked up to Kurayami. Kurayami stroked the horse's face and asked.
"What do you mean, Yummy aura?"
Blackjack neighed in shock.
"Boss, boss he speaks horse! How?!"
Percy ran over to both of them as he tried to stay quiet.
"Thalia has been going bonkers. She demands we rush over to rescue you Annabeth. You got to talk to her.
Annabeth raised her hand and held her face.
"Did you take the time to explain to her I went on my own?"
Percy shook his head.
"She is crazy and would not believe me no matter how many times I explained it to her. She says you got tricked or something."
Kurayami deiced to make a joke.
"Yeah, I tricked her into wearing an engagement ring she cannot take off."
Percy looked at her hand and saw the engagement ring. He had long since gotten over his little crush as he only met her for a few days. He just congratulated them.
"Congratulations. Now please go deal with her, before she chews my ear out."
While they talked Blackjack just kept his face on Kurayami's back.
"Yummy aura, I feel stronger."
Percy sighed.
"So are you going to leave to Blackjack?"
Blackjack moved back and shook his head.
"No, maybe."
Percy had tick marks on his head as he heard that.
Kurayami backed away as he shut that down.
"Sorry, but I got a horse. He is also cooler."
Percy was interested as she had not seen Blitz in a long time.
"I heard my father gave you a divine horse. Can I see him?"
Kurayami summoned Blitz from his home. He did not look divine at all as his mane was burining in a black fire while every breath caused flames to exit his nose. His eyes were a deep violet and he was covered in dense muscle. He still looked beautiful, but he was the size of a Clydesdale horse.
Percy gawked while Kurayami stroked Blitz's firey mane.
"You may praise him now."
Annabeth laughed at him bragging as it was rare for him to do that. Blitz looked at Percy in the eyes and spoke.
"You are the son of Poseidon."
Percy shivered as the voice he heard was deep and dark.
"Yeah, you?"
Blitz raised his head and bowed.
"I am Blitz mount to my lord. Sadly he has not ridden me even once."
Percy had a good idea.
"How about a race? Horseback."
Blitz looked at Kurayami with expectation. He was happy he was getting stronger, but he wanted to be a noble mount.
"Please lord."
Kurayami agreed to his request as it would be in line to get to Thalia in a way that was fine.
"Sounds fine to me. I can already feel her on the training field so this will be a fun ride."
Kurayami raised his hand toward Blitz causing black flames to flash through the horse. They condensed into a demonic-looking war armor and saddle. When Blitz felt the armor and saddle he felt pride to be given this honor.
He rose to his back legs and dense black flames erupted from his nose. Percy shivered as Blitz was more of a war mount. Kurayami grabbed Blitz and lifted himself onto the saddle.
"Annabeth, your hand."
She grabbed his hand and lifted her up behind him. She grabbed his waist and noticed just how small she really was. Kurayami looked at Percy and Blackjack.
"Can you keep up?"
Percy jumped on Blackjack and nodded.
"Let's go."
They both rode out of the stables at a steady pace, but Blitz left burning hoof prints behind. Kurayami once again got attention as horse riding was a common thing, but who would ride a burning black demon horse. As for Annabeth, she recognized some people so she waved at them.
Percy looked over and asked why she was not burning.
"How are you not getting burned?"
Blitz looked over and explained himself.
"I only burn those I do not like. She is one of the mates of the Lord and must be protected."
Annabeth patted him on his leg to praise him.
"I am also a Seraph and inherited my mother's abilities."
When they found Thalia she was locked in a spar with several demigods who froze in fear when they saw her shield. It was a replica of Ageis and had Medusa's face on it. When they saw it they froze in terror as it was an imitation of the original.
A lightning bolt hit her huge lance and she swung it at a large Ares kid. It hit him and caused him to short circuit. Annabeth saw that and wanted to know how it compared.
"Hey, Kurayami. How strong is she?"
Kurayami thought about it.
"She can control a single bolt of lightning instead of a storm like I can. She has not tapped into the power she got from Zeus. If she was at Grigori, she would be worthy to join my Abyss Dogs. As she is now, she is too weak."
Once Thalia won she noticed Blitz and Annabeth on his back.
"Hey, Thalia. Been a while."
Thalia ran up to the both of them as she looked at Blitz, Kurayami, and Annabeth. She jumped off the horse and hugged her tightly. Thalia dropped her shield and lance and hugged her back.
When she saw Kurayami, she recognized him.
"Hey, wasn't it you who helped me when I was a tree? I still remember you, you gave me more time to hold on. I am thankful to you."
Kurayami jumped on Blitz and nodded.
"I just gave you a little more time. You must be Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus."
She picked up her spear and shield and confirmed it.
"I heard from Percy that you are a fallen angel, that true."
Kurayami spread his wings and she saw 14 metallic wings pop out from his back. When she felt the aura that he stopped restraining she gulped.
"You really are strong. Can you show me a small bit of it?"
He pointed up and she followed his hand and saw lightning clouds forming with storm clouds. From the look of it, the entire sky filled with a rainbow of lighting. He used every kind he had access to and it filled the sky.
Thalia was shocked at the power one could have and it made her realize she was still weak. He snapped his fingers and the storm clouds were sent away.
"Just an ability I learned from my father."
Thalia was interested.
"Who is your father?"
"Baraqiel, the former lightning of god. Now, we need to talk about the issue you are causing to start a rescue mission for the demigods."
Thalia looked at Annabeth and pushed her behind her.
"Why did you take them away?"
Annabeth snicked and winked at Kurayami.
"Well, I found it sad they were trapped here at the camp without ever being able to use their real abilities. I offered them a place in my organization and now you are keeping my fiance behind you."
He raised his left hand where on his pointer finger he had an engagement ring with her name on it. Thalia saw he had 7 more on his hands so she turned around to look at Annabeth.
She had fallen to the ground and was rolling around laughing at the look that Thalia had.
"Stop laughing. This is serious."
When Annabeth got up she dusted herself off.
"Well, I wanted to introduce my fiance Kurayami to you. Now, you must have some questions."
Thalia nodded and crossed her arms as she looked at Kurayami.
"Why are you wearing more rings with other women's names on them?"
Kurayami explained patiently as he was not offended.
"In my culture, it is accepted to have a harem. I never lied to her and she knew I was already engaged when she accepted me. I never forced it on anyone."
Annabeth confirmed it.
"Don't get mad at him Thalia. I knew that going in, but I did not care. This is just a difference of belief so don't judge me or him."
Thalia sighed as she was going to do that.
"You're right. I should not judge. You spoke of someone named Baraqiel was your father. Can you tell me who he is?"
He was proud of his father so he said it.
"My father in the distant past was the enforcer of God's rage. The God of the bible. I never read it though."
Thalia had guessed if Fallen Angels exist them then so did god. "
How strong is God?"
Kurayami bragged as most of the other pantheons did not know he was dead.
"Strong enough to get Zeus to fear him and steal from him with ease. Like my friend Shin here."
Thalia now looked at the bear-sized dog as she had been more focused on Annabeth. Shin towered over her, and she felt he was just as scary as Kurayami.
"What is he?"
Annabeth hugged her from behind and bragged about him.
"That is Shin, he was made from a God-killing sword and Lyacon. The cursed cannibal king. God stole both of those and created my finances demon dog. Be scared."
Thalia looked at Shin and had her eyes drawn to his cross.
"Why is he wearing a cross?"
Kurayami hugged the big dog and explained.
"That cross was the one where Jesus was crucified on. It just shrunk to become a collar. Now, Percy you wanted a race did you not?"
Percy was not confident, but he nodded.
"Yes, I am sure Blitz will enjoy it."
Kurayami agreed for the sake of his familiar.
"That is fine."
Everyone went to the chariot field as it could serve as a good race track. Percy looked over to Blitz as he did not know if the horse could fly.
"Can we fly?"
Kurayami confirmed it.
"He can."
Blitz began to paw on the ground causing the ground to melt and as Chiron had heard they were going to race he went over. He looked at Blitz who was huge and looked like a mount worthy of a hero.
"Alright, you two going to wager anything?"
Kurayami thought about it and decided to make a sword from Shin's ability.
"How about if you win I will give you a new sword."
Percy didn't have much to wager so Blackjack had a great idea.
"Boss, Boss. If we win how about we get some of the yummy aura."
Kurayami sighed.
"You can't bottle it."
Blackjack sighed in disappointment.
"You stay if we win."
Percy looked at Kurayami who shrugged.
"Fine by me. Blitz do not lose."
Blitz took a deep breath and began to course with lightning.
"Who do you think I am my lord?"
Kurayami grabbed the reigns and Percy felt he had no hope of winning. A few demigods came out to watch and just seeing the difference between Blitz and Blackjack a few assumed Blackjack would just fly ahead to win.
Chiron raised his hand.
"On your marks."
Blitz's muscles got tense while Blackjack spread his wings.
"Get set."
Kurayami and Percy got ready as both mounts leaned forward to run. Chiron lowered his hand.
"GO!"
Both horses took to the air and while Blackjack flew in the air Blitz just ran in the air. Thalia looked up as both horses flew and whistled.
"You wouldn't think that huge demon horse could fly, but he can."
Annabeth had not seen this before so she had no idea if he could fly.
"I thought Blitz would just flop to the ground."
As Blitz ran the air burned and his mane and breath grew hotter and Percy was just left behind as Blitz was just that fast. He landed and began to run on the ground and with his every run, the ground left burning hoof prints so Percy accepted his loss as Blitz made it to the end.
Blackjack cried in regret at losing.
"My yummy aura."
Percy consoled him.
"Hey, cheer up."
Blitz took a deep breath happily as he did his purpose.
"My lord, may I ask you to ride me into battle if you can?"
Kurayami got off and nodded.
"It is the right kind then yes. However, you know that not all battles can be fought on horseback."
Blitz had an idea.
"Wait, what if you go balance breaker while mounted?"
Kurayami was interested in the idea.
"Hey, we can try it back home. Let's see what happened."
Percy walked up to him and patted him on the back.
"I lost as expected. Did you hear that most peaple bet on me as they didn't think Blitz could fly? I heard Mr. D bet a lot of Drachma on you as he suspected that Blitz could fly."
Kurayami shrugged.
"Well today was fun, but I should go back."
He walked up to Annabeth who was with Thalia.
"Annabeth, are you coming back?"
She shook her head.
"I will return later tonight. I only want to catch up to my friend before then."
She walked up to him and grabbed his coat and dragged him down so she could reach him. She kissed him and let him go.
"Don't miss me now."
Kurayami shrugged.
"I'm going to eat your snacks though."
She nearly ignored Thalia as those were made by Akeno. Before she could say anything, he, Blitz, and Shin were gone. She sighed as she would lose out on her snacks.
"Damn it. There go my snacks."
Thalia and Percy both saw she was annoyed. Thalia wanted to see how strong Annabeth got in that time.
"Can we have a spar?"
Annabeth shook her head.
"I have trouble holding back."
From her back 12 black wings with silver edges sprouted. A glow of divinity flared for a second that made both Percy and Thalia recoil. When she retracted her wings and aura she apologized.
"I have been training hard and unlocked the power of my mother. I am also a fallen angel so I can't spar you, but I can teach you two some stuff."
She created a pair of silver hunting knives from light and looked at the two of them like they were prey.
"You ready?"
Both of them got their weapons and prepared for the thrashing she was going to give them.
