Light Novel X Mangaka

"Let me colour your world with these words..." Yuki Leigh, your average teenage girl, has a knack for writing stories. She goes to Japan, together with her best friend, Roxanne. They enrol themselves in the International Japanese School to chase their dreams. Leigh also becomes famous because of her works, making a title of her known as the Queen of Gores or The Lady in Blood. But nobody knows who exactly this “Yuki”-her pen name is since she never reveals her face in public. Those quiet days instantly change when Yuki browses the internet and sees a manga adaptation of her light novel series under the artist name “Nick”, who she assumes is a student going to the same school, and she is right! She refuses anyone to adapt her story, given that these written texts hold something dear inside her heart. It is the only source of happiness Yuki has when she feels alone inside her room. Upon noticing the positive feedback of the manga, Yuki would let Nickson pass this chance only if he transfers a share of his earnings to poverty or charity. That is all Yuki wants to hear. They sit next to each other and not uttering a single word despite being classmates inside the room. Everything is going swimmingly to the two, not until the student council elections show up. They want to claim the prize of “not attending any lecture in class” following their jobs as mangaka and author. Yuki then meets Nickson’s relatives, who are not on good terms. She thinks that joining their affairs would make her and Nickson’s situation worse. But her emotions change when Yuki notices Nickson’s sudden shift of mood during examinations or in meetings. He is neglecting his work in the student council, grabbing the attention of the school and the two former student council officers. Eventually, she helps Nickson in her own way. Because of Yuki’s sudden interruption in his life, Nickson finally takes an interest in this light novel author. There are a lot of things going on as well! The three join a club, family problems, and relationship status they need to work out. The club advisor, Benjamin Tsai, gives the author and the artist tips on creating masterpieces of their works. He also becomes their mentor when they feel stuck in a bottleneck. Benjamin is an avid fan of both Nickson and Yuki, so he knows everything about them, including their styles. Along the way, they meet some friends and make a group together to prepare themselves for the university. If they want to pursue their passion, they need to do well for the upcoming entrance exams. Everything becomes serious and dull, considering they need to plan for their future jobs and roles. Yuki expresses her doubts about becoming a full-pledge light novel author, knowing that it will be a risky job for her to make money. Leigh admits she was lucky enough to win the competition before, but what will she do right now that she is losing her popularity as an author? This novel is a rollercoaster of happiness, sorrow, and other emotions from the characters. Every reader will unravel their stories one volume at a time, while the two, Yuki and Nickson, commit themselves as romantic couples soon. The story doesn’t need to be fast paced or slow since they will encounter problems and solve them one at a time. ______________________________________________ I referenced the characters to the people I know. But keep in mind that I separate their lives and create fictional events on my own. I don’t have any opinions of what the character will do since the story explains everything in the present tense. All of them will have their characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Huge thanks to these awesome people who are supporting this book! Especially to @Snowphira. She is the artist/illustrator of this novel. If you want to see Nickson’s illustrations, I will post them inside the first few chapters in the comment section! Cheers, and have a wonderful life, everyone! Book Cover not mine.

Wagyu Wagyu Wagyu Wagyu

"I will deliver your food within fifteen minutes. Duty calls," The server fleets to the table and writes their orders, with an apologetic smile on his face. After listing the meals in his tiny, black notebook, he rushes towards the kitchen and informs the chefs about the meals.

Roxanne and I do not mind that he is busy with his work, since the man needs to get the job done for the rest of the evening. We also need to find any leads from Nickson or the man who has sent the message earlier, making our time worthwhile during this trip.

However, the waiter looks familiar to my eyes. It almost feels like I have seen his face from somewhere before, but my mind refuses to remember that memory.

Lost in thought, I ask permission to Roxanne and head towards the comfort room. There is a part on my face that annoys and makes me want to scratch my cheeks and rip them apart into pieces, metaphorically.

"It must be the make-up," I nod to myself, assuming that is the case of my skin and has an allergic reaction on my skin.

Upon arriving at the restroom, I spot a man dressed in jet-black clothing stealing glances over to our direction, specifically over at the waiter we have met before. My eyes glimpse his features and notice Nickson's face without his glasses.

"Maybe I'm just daydreaming about him." I study his face once more and, to my amazement, his pale appearance and narrow-looking eyes catch me off guard.

He is unquestionably Nickson going undercover!

My feet run across the distant crowd, wanting to punch his beautiful teeth with my fist. He has brought Roxanne and me the responsibilities of looking out for him like a lost boy! The former class officers are likely to sentence me back to my customary life of being a student. That punishment involves attending the boring lectures of the class.

"I do not have time for that!" I yell as loud as I can, not minding the crowds blocking in front of me, as I reach the ingress of the Clock Hotel.

But as soon as I reach the outdoors, the coal-black hoodie is nowhere in my line of sight. Nickson has made his way out from the hotel, away from my vision, merely within seconds. If he tells me now that he has an ability of some sort, I would believe him on the spot!

I wipe the sweat dripping from my face after running a quarter-mile from the restroom towards the entrance. My efforts leave me wallowing for air as I bend my knees, rest my hands, and gasp for oxygen. All the clients passing by are professional enough to mind their business and not bat an eye to a famous author like me.

After gathering the energy that I need, I withdraw back to my best friend, waiting for me to arrive in my seat. The waiters have already placed the sizzling Miyazakigyu Wagyu Beef on our plates, an authentic and expensive Japanese meal exclusively for consumers in this hotel.

The redolent smell of beef cattle rising to my nose, feeling me with euphoria all over my body. I can almost taste the flavour even before taking a slice of the meat inside my mouth. Upon touching the surface of the viand, the juicy looking sauce of the beef slides down the plate, arousing me from my appetite. Its marble texture, the visible layers of intramuscular fat of the meat, looks delectable at first sight!

My spoon reaches for the plate as I could not keep my happiness for long. The blade slices through the meat and wiggles on my utensil, guiding it inside my body. As my lips touch the meal, the Wagyu Beef melts on my tongue with my teeth gnawing the flesh of the well-cooked dish.

I take a glance at my best friend, who shares the elated feeling of my body, tingling with every bite from our supper. Roxanne conceals her moans by covering her mouth, unable to resist the sensation of the meat melting inside of her.

"The price suits that taste; ain't it, Roxy?" I nudge and hit her elbow as the two of us help ourselves with the feast.

My worries leave me for good after gobbling the most prized beef in the world, letting me forget the problems that I have with the prick we know as Nickson. The two of us gaze at the empty dish and exchange looks, feeling full following a good chow. We perceive that this is one of the few moments in our life to experience such a delightful cuisine.

However, like any other fairy tales, none of these last forever. I elevate my hands and wave them, calling for the attention of any waiter available in the scene. Unfortunately, the man whom I have met earlier is in a pickle and preoccupied at the moment, so the waitress approaches us and gives us a nod.

The server then zooms towards the counter and returns to us with a booklet carrying on her fingers. She lands the slip on the board and leaves without warning, waiting for us to pay for the meal we have ordered.

"Yuki, I-,"

With one wave of my hand, I silence my best friend and flash her a smile.

"You're my best friend, and I am your popular author. Treating you to a fine meal is the least that I can do for you, Roxanne." I meet her gaze and hold her hands, letting Roxanne know she is one of the best things I ever have.

"If it weren't for you, then I would sit in my room, watching those series and animes," I add, as the two of us giggle at my comment.

But I mean what I say. Roxanne has been there for me when nobody could spare the time reading my novels. She is the first person to support my book, forcing me to write on both rainy and sunny days.

As an author, I find it hard to realise that luck plays a huge role in success, especially for an author. Every day, I have felt unmotivated to continue my chapters. There has been a point where I almost stop typing the words inside my mind.

I clasp her hand onto mine and give her a light tap on the head. It is a similar thing that Roxanne has done to me before. Money is not everything. These coins will always be there for us once we work hard or earn a job, in most cases. But, having a friend who supports you no matter what is priceless.

"You are so unfair, Yuki!" Roxanne sweeps her hands and wipes her face, drenching with her salty tears.

"Oh, look at you! You're the one who made me cry before," I retort while slipping 22 thousand yen on the check, more than enough to pay off our meal.

"You can repay all of our bills if you make an animation for my light novels! I will have my editor find you a company and invite you from there!" I cheer my best friend up and pat her back, telling Roxanne that everything is alright.

Roxy does not look like it, but she really has a knack for making animations come to life, be it two-dimensional or three-dimensional scenes, albeit beginner. She wants to become an animator in Japan. Hence, following me here to a foreign country.

We finish our meal and go on our way, looking for the man wearing the black tuxedo with his eyeglasses. Weirdly enough, those lenses strike a pose to his work of art face, filling the gaps of his narrow eyes and solemn lips. That perfect body of his will make every woman fall flat on the ground, begging to love them!

But enough of those trivial descriptions.

"Are you sure you saw him here, Yuki?" A nervous voice escapes from my best friend as the two find the narcissistic man who only exalts himself.

But our efforts dismay us and find no one that resembles his face or the jacket-like coat, or whatever he calls it. Even his queer sense of fashion is not visible in the crowd, despite running around in circles outside the hotel.

Suddenly, the man we have met before runs towards us with extreme speed, bringing the two coupons in his hands. But as he turns around and hits a guy, his gentle face shifts into a more frightening persona.

"You fucking bastard! Watch where you are going!" A straight Japanese curse shots out from his mouth as he waves his hands high and reaches for the clouds. The man who he has hit does the same, wanting to fight him in the middle of the busy street.

The sudden change in his personality amazes me to the core. All I know about him is his kind demeanour towards us clients. But that is just a facade that he is hiding from us.
