Chapter 17

Logan stood silently before the flaming ruins, seemingly unaware of the enemies surrounding him.

Several armored vehicles and two combat helicopters flanked him.

Only with the protection of these armored vehicles did they dare to face Wolverine, their fear evident in their reluctance to stand openly before him.

Ssshk!

Adamantium blades slid from Logan's knuckles, gleaming coldly under the moonlight.

Logan slowly turned, his calm expression twisting into one of fury. A long-suppressed roar erupted from deep within his throat.

"Death!"

He crouched low, like a wild animal, and charged toward the enemy.

"Fire! Blow his head off!" Agent Zero sneered, crossing his arms as he watched the scene unfold.

The spectacle of a trapped beast fighting was his favorite kind of show.

Ta-da-da!

Bullets rained down on Logan.

His claws shielded his face as he moved swiftly, dodging as many bullets as possible. The ones he couldn't avoid, he took head-on, allowing them to pierce his body.

Blood splattered, tearing into Logan's flesh, but he didn't seem to feel the pain. Instead, he grinned—a chilling, sinister smile.

In the next moment, Logan leaped toward the nearest armored vehicle, now within a few meters. His Adamantium blades sliced through the metal as though it were paper, shredding the vehicle apart.

"Heh!"

Logan sneered as the soldiers inside screamed. He tore one apart with his claws and effortlessly slashed the legs of another standing on the roof with a machine gun. As the soldier fell, Logan drove his claws through his skull.

"Hit him with everything! Let's see how much he can take!"

With Agent Zero's command, a missile launched from one of the helicopters, flying straight toward Logan's position.

Logan's eyes widened, and he leaped off the armored car just in time.

Boom!

The vehicle exploded into flames, the blast throwing Logan through the air.

He tumbled to the ground, but after a moment, he rose, ripping an iron plate from his chest as if it were nothing.

Bah!

Spitting out bloodied saliva, Logan glared at the remaining armored vehicles and the helicopters circling overhead. He made a throat-slitting gesture at Agent Zero.

Agent Zero's eye twitched at the sight, and he snapped, "Pull back! Don't let him get close, you idiots!"

The remaining three armored vehicles quickly adjusted, forming a rotating formation around Logan. As he charged toward one, the other two opened fire. When he switched targets, they pivoted, keeping him caught in the crossfire.

Logan, lacking any long-range attacks, was forced to dodge and weave, a living target under a storm of bullets.

Roaring in frustration, Logan could only dodge and search for a chance to strike back, but he found himself running in circles.

"A beast is just a beast—only knows how to use its claws. Pathetic!" Agent Zero sneered, feeling smug as he watched from above.

Meanwhile, Mike, hidden in the distance, grimly observed the armored vehicles and helicopters. A cold smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"Trying to kill us, huh? Blow up our home?"

With a quiet mutter, a card appeared at his fingertips.

"If only I could manifest modern weapons," he sighed. "A Little missile or two would take care of these guys in no time."

Mike lamented briefly, but his attention quickly focused on the card between his fingers.

It bore the image of a sword, with information about the weapon on the back.
