9 Chapter 9

The next section is scenarios. They are specific challenges and conditions given in order to go to the next jump. Most of them seem really hard or next to impossible. Then the rewards for most aren't very good. There are some good rewards, but they're usually paired with tasks like conquering essos or creating a dynasty. I keep saying reward, but I would actually get it upon selecting the scenario. Despite this, there is one scenario that stands out to me. Last of the Giants' victory condition is to increase the population of giants from 500 to 5000. But that will happen naturally as long as they don't die and have food. I've got a couple ideas that might work. The boon on selection is also pretty good it would make me bigger, inhumanely strong, durable, would be resistant to extreme colds, and hostile environments. It's kind of a risk, but on an impulse I select it. Doing so changes my starting location to Beyond the Wall and my race to giant.

I then go to the flaws section which allows me to select optional drawbacks and disadvantages for additional perks and starting items. Most of them aren't terrible except for the drawback that puts the world into a permanent winter and infested it with zombies. I'm already going to have a hard time so I only select one and it's something kind of already have to do for the scenario. I select sworn-shield which makes me loyal to someone else and I will have to help and support them. There was an empty space to write in my selection. I choose to be loyal to the giants. I will be the Sworn-Shield of the Giants. It's a bit of a stretch but the magic paper seems to accept it.

Now knowing my full budget for perks and Items, I go to the perk section. I get the perk weapon proficiency for free it makes me generally trained in using most normal weapons of this time period and one weapon I am a master at. I'm not really sure what to choose for my preferred weapon, so I select two-handed greatswords. Then I choose Tall which makes me taller and proportionally stronger. It's got good synergy with me being a giant. Then I select Quick as a Snake and Dirty fighter. Dirty fighter makes me good at fighting 'cleverly' and quick as a snake gives me inhuman reflexes, incredible speed in short bursts, and while being attacked slows my perception of time slightly.

Then I move onto the Items section. I get a castle steel version of plate mail and my preferred weapon for free. Not sure how that will work with me being a giant. It would be really cool to be the only giant in plate, but it does seem horribly impractical. Then I buy a pet mammoth, a valyrian steel great sword, two pouches of 100 gold dragons, and the horn of Joruman. The horn is weekly capable of doing massive damage to structures. It's basically a magic siege weapon. Then I have a little leftover so I select an out of background perk called A Quiet People that make groups I lead unlikely to cause trouble or rebel. With that selected the packet burns away and I pass out only seeing black.
