13 Chapter 13

I spend the rest of the month slowly exploring the city with mixed luck. On one hand, I do continue to find more and more gold, gems, valyrian weapons, and even a full plate suit of valyrian steel armour. But it took me searching over a hundred buildings with usually no more than one worthwhile object per house. Even the armor was broken up in pieces and found in separate buildings. I found no more books, magic items, or vaults. As I searched the ruin city the more I explored the more I found either pockets of stonemen or rivers of lava. I took a cautious approach and avoided both to the best of my ability, but it seriously hindered my looting efforts. Walts was getting tired of this bullshit and to be honest so was I so when I found some kind of dragon building and another egg I called it quits. I spent a couple of days in the warehouse just chillin then had Walts teleport me back to the tribe.

Old Valyria was great. I mean results-wise obviously being there was a massive pain. I found quite literally a fortune in gold not even including the priceless object. I found magic and lost knowledge. But the city is massive it would have taken me years to search everything. There were also places I just couldn't fit. Even so, there must either be some section of the city with mega-rich people that I was missing or there is some kind of city vault. Because you don't grave rob the capital city of the richest civilization in history and only walk away a rich man. Seeing as gold, gems, and valyrian steel didn't decay I should have been finding more unless it was somewhere else or someone got there before I did. Or maybe I was expecting too much. Really I got lucky making out with as much as I did there could have been nothing there and I would have found it less puzzling.

I stop overthinking it and just happily accept what happened in Old Valyria. My time back with the giants is peaceful and low maintenance. Something I really needed after spending a month surrounded by skin meltingly hot poison gas. Things with the giants are so far so good as no giants have died while I was gone and some are even pregnant. I spend some time just unwinding with the giants helping them hunt, patrol, and talk with the free folk from nearby.

I don't even know where to begin with the Valyrian books so I'll wait until I find a way to learn Valyrian. However, first I should brush up on my common. I speak it alright, but I only ever use it when dealing with free folk who can't speak the old tongue. For the next couple of months whenever I talk to the free folk I use common. I can't read common, but it's written system is similar to English so I can just muddle through by sounding words out and getting some practice in.

While I work on my language skills I also make use of the magic globe to predict storms. I pass the news on to my tribe so they can be prepared for them. I notice the globe has large sections of land that I had thought were undiscovered. Although I guess there's a big difference between knowing something is there and actually knowing what is there. I know the Valyrians never fully explored Sothoyros, but I guess they knew it was there. I really don't have any magical knowledge so I shouldn't try to poke consistency holes in it.

During this time Manyce Rayder also reached out to us. I sent Mag Mar Tun Doh Weg to go in my place. I don't really care what they agree to I'll just renegotiate the terms once it comes time to assault the wall. Mag Mar Tun Doh Weg might know I have a magic horn, but he doesn't know what it does or even if it actually is magic.

I decide to interfere with southern politics now that I've relaxed from Valyria and I've sent someone to meet with Manyce. I've decided fuck the Greyjoys, Boltons, Stannis, Melisandre, Lysa Aryan, and the Freys. Greyjoys are pirate slaving scum who might actually attack the true north eventually. Maybe for wood for ships or just because they want to kill some giants. Ramsey, not Roose Bolton there both not great, but Roose is just betraying Rob. Rob hasn't exactly been a great leader. Ramsey is a potential problem and I'd prefer him dead before he becomes my issue. Melisandre for how she might act after I kill the night king. Stannis mostly because I might prevent his death with my actions. Lysa Aryan and the Freys are secondary concerns who I probably won't do anything to just because I dislike them in a Tv show. Man maybe this world is evil because I'm plotting people deaths like 6 months into being here after having never killed someone ever.

My first intervention is going to be when Theon takes Winterfell. I've been scouting most of Westeros actually. At night I fly around looking for army placements to try to determine the position in the story. One night I find Theon 30 man strong army headed in the direction of Winterfell. I head back to my tribe to let them know I'll be gone. Then I land a distance away from the group. I find a flat rock and I open a portal to my warehouse from which I call out Manny (my mammoth). Whenever I get far enough away from the tribe Manny automatically gets recalled to my warehouse. The tribe thinks he's super sneaky like a dire wolf in the body of a mammoth off to go hunting. But I know he likes his independence. If I'm not planning on riding him he wants to do his own thing. He was in the warehouse the entire time I was in Valyria and I didn't see him once. Now is different, I need a war mount and Manny knows it. I didn't even have to call for him. I opened the portal and out came Manny.
