THE VOTE (13's Story)

I tried my best to gain the favor of people who could be useful in the future. I could tell that 13 and 14 were closer than the rest of us, so I would try to take advantage of that partnership for as long as possible until I could cut them off. I was able to convince 2, 3, 4, 5, and 12 to work with me. I tried to get 9 to join us, but the bastard ignored me. It seems that we probably also have 10 and a random person vote with us.

I was mainly trying to prioritize long term safety, but it seems that I miscalculated something. I thought we had an easy vote. We could have just gotten rid of 20 and called it a day. Why did 17 go, and why was there another alliance voting against us? I looked up at 12, and was met with a blank expression.

Something has felt off about this guy since the start. I can't help but feel like he's constantly watching over me. The way I see it, he's the biggest threat to my game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the shocking results of the vote, we were informed that we would now be going to new rooms. I was confused at first but then realized that they needed to separate the teams. In the opposite direction of the way we entered, there were 2 sets of doors, that opened up into rooms for each team.

"How did they even build all of this?" I wondered.

Most people were in shock over what happened and everyone remained silent as we split into our teams' rooms.

The mysterious voice from earlier once again made an appearance. It informed us that this was our oppurtunity to rest, and that we should take tonights events as a warning to take this serious. This caused quite an uproar initially, but people quickly realized how exhausted and stressed out they were an opted to rest.

I was only able to keep an eye on my team, but it seemed as though everyone had returned to their seperate rooms. I, however, couldn't rest. If this is how things were going to be, I had to keep myself secure. I pondered over my future actions for a while before finally heading to bed.

I felt a sharp jolt in my neck before waking up. This must be the wakeup procedure so we all are up at the same time. I walked out of my room and into the main area where I saw my teammates begin to stagger out. Everyone looked as though they had a rough time last night.

We had no time to build relationships as the voice returned, and left a rather interesting question.

"Hello everyone! I hope you all had wonderful dreams last night. Im sure you are all looking forward to today's festivities."

People began stating their hatred under their breath.

"Today will be slightly different though. You see, we have quite an important group to impress, so I will now ask you all to appoint one member from each team to represent your team. They will then compete against eachother and the winner gets a reward. Does that entice any brave souls to volunteer?"

The silence was load within the room. No one wanted to put themselves or their team at risk in this event.

"Oh well, that's a shame. You have 5 minutes to pick a representative. Goodluck!"

After the voice left, the team quickly began searching for someone.

I chose to remain silent, but others were much more vocal with their opinions.

"I think 11 should do it! They seem like the best option."

"What about 6, they havent voiced anything since we got here!"

"The same could be said for 12!"

People began throwing anyone but them under the bus. After 5 minutes, the voice returned and stated that since a majority decision could not be reached, it would be randomized. We watched as everyones number began cycling through before it finally landed on someone number. 6, an ally of mine, was the one unfortunately selected.

I watched as one of the large screens lit up within the room. It displayed 6s face on the screen with a matchup beside it. Not long after, the 2nd slot was filled with someone who I didn't talk much with last night.

Number 7 made an appearance on the screen.

Off of looks alone, this seems like a balanced matchup, but who knows what the stipulation may be.

Afterward, 6 was quickly moved intona seperate area, and we were informed that we would not see him again until it was time for the challenge, and that it would take place tommorow night.

A sigh of relief was let out by almost every other member of the team. Everyone was satisfied with the outcome as they were not the ones chosen. I couldn't help but take note of that for future reference.

I spent the majority of the day on my bed, messaging my allience members from the previous vote. If nothing else, having this chip inside of us has allowed for way easier access to communication. I am surprised that we are able to communicate across team lines.

I need to strengthen my connection with the other team. I have tried gaining information on 7, but 2,3,4, and 9 have all said the same thing.

7 seems like a more reserved person, he didnt really add much and only spoke when spoken to. They didnt have enough time to gain any more information about them.

All I can do is wait.

I slept in the following day. To my surprise, we were not forcefully awoken. I began to go about my day before a large alarm set off, and we were instructed to walk through a door that was previously locked.

The doors open and what we saw would leave us shocked. We walked into a room with a massive glass window, this was our first look at the outside world. Once my eyes adjusted to the light, the first thing I noticed was that we were far from human civilization.

Directly outside the window, I looked down at a stage surrounded by some sort of lifeform. Each one looked different, but whatever they were, they were not human.

This was where we got our first opportunity to grasp the reality of our situation.

The strange voice returned, informing us that this was the true nature of our situation. We were here merely for their entertainment.

They captured us somehow and forces us into this environment to play some kind of game, putting our lives at stake with the hopes of returning home.

Everyone suddenly felt sick. I looked kut across the stage as I soon saw 6 make his appearance.

6 looked extremely nervous, however he was dressed up in nicer clothes than when he had first left us. He also came out equipped with a baseball bat.

Shortly after, number 7 came out dressed up in a black tuxedo. He had a much more calm demeanor.

I was initially confused as to what was going to happen, but I was able to make out microphones in front of them, and a scoreboard displayed overhead. These challenges were going to be a lot harder than originally anticipated...
