Life Could Be a Dream

A promise once made cannot be broken, they said. But to those who choose to deal with the absolutes, how many more have they cast aside for their dream? Sacrifices are to be made, of course. Only so much can ever be set emotionally before logic takes place. Yet, for all that is and isn't, what would be left if there cannot be what could ever be?

Make those rainbows in my mind

After a few seconds...

"Her stamina usage of temporal abilities coincides with her Daydream as per Mythees and Naikhee's prior discussion..." he thought, "Given she probably has the same mindset when fighting Naikhee, she won't reveal much of her powers and would just go for a hit-and-run tactic..." getting rid of Nicole's arm stuck to him as he threw it amongst the clouds, "Running away also serves many functions. She'd inevitably try to find a counter. Even assuming I could answer those..." and starting to sprint on air with an observant look, "I'd have to make sure I give her a false impression of my ability more than anything..." before taking off and landing at a desert below him, picking up some sand and jumping high again to continue his sky walking experience.

Meanwhile...

Right as she reached the river- S-shaped, swirly, and had a bunch of hiding spots- not as great as what she's used to, but it'll do.

"Though the logic behind the projectiles from earlier could not be a part of his main ability, maybe this guy has the same case of having both an Innate Ability and a Daydream..." landing at one of the mountains as she falls ungracefully, hitting face first into the rubble with first catching up to her previously all-white-with-some-red attire.

"But then again, that could just be bait for trying to get me to think he's even using any ability in the first place and not just physical force- no... but-" Immediately, a crack in her face would start to form, slightly leaking blood through her lips as she found herself sinking through the ground.

[Reverse- Displacement]

Traversing in the shortest way it would've taken to get there, a holosign labeled- ONGOING CONSTRUCTION dropped her to the floor of metal pipes just hundreds of meters below the initial spot she was on. Before clang hits the bell ringing on her head, a good floatation should be enough to find a place to sit and think.

Taking a breather was a sound decision in her honest reaction to the information she had just seen. Settling down on some pristine rocks, now being rebuilt to maybe turn this spot into a possible hotel for who knows why. As hard as the pillows are for this service, can't exactly deny that they're doing some comfort given some of the curves the crystals have- carved from behind her back with a sharp stone at hand.

"For starters...." she muttered, wiping off some of the blood and sweat, "What's happening?" huff and puff, she'd lie her head to the corner of the unfinished site, pulling one pipe near her just in case.

Confusion was the first struck at her mind, first comes this vector guy then in comes this i-throw-rocks-that-finds-you-like-the-IRS-when-you-don't-pay-your-taxes kinda dude.

'Don't sweat it. We're already far off from speaking about morals'

Not as much as a hint for his abilities, though those words did carry some form of "meaning". A meaning that invalidates... what?

A meaning for what?

For why?

Exactly.

Reasons and emotions weren't going to help her solve this fight. Not much talking like some Heroic Protagonist in a game would help her survive. Though manipulation and mental tactics are viable for enemies, these guys... aren't.

For her, they never once laughed. Not once used hostages. Takes the fight elsewhere, and- maybe not? That one time Blondie just did, though, could be just to tire her out. Possibly.

"I'll find my reason after I'm done with him. Or..." she held her hand, and two words came to mind.

Good Samaritan.

"Maybe I did..." still shaking her head, "Or maybe not..." breathing out.

"Either way..." taking a pause, long silent over trying to hear if she's been spotted during her improv soliloquy. Though that silence didn't mean a lot, just for that purpose, said silence would mean so otherwise. Taking into account what this man could and couldn't do, dealing with an unknown was much like a mirror 1v1 match, except this guy could be a better player with a higher rank- unlike her who has aimbot installed.

Alas, logic is the only runaway ramp to the "How to find your meaning in life while a bunch of war veterans from a not traumatic experience" airlines, coming to the theaters and delivering more reviews than that one morphing vampire.

"Calculation of the projectiles earlier took more, but it's more so a half-baked gamble. He could just be using a default formula since it's better than changing the trajectory and angles mid-calc. So, hitting that right spot may have enticed whatever trick he has into changing that formula, that's for sure..." making a slight groove on the end of a hollow pipe with the sharp rock, "Even a slight glance would tell that it's not a Daydream nor a byproduct of Innate Ability. Sure, for the sake of argument, I could be wrong and I could get hit by more than this. But if Naikhee's imaginary vectors are difficult to calculate, making up for his skill; maybe that logic applies to that Grey-haired dude?" asked herself as if she was on a table talking to another Nicole, grabbing a crystal from the side and inserting it on the grooves of the pipe.

"It could very well be farfetched since, then again, it could be just a hoax or a trick to lure me in through false advertisement. Whereas with Naikhee- which I have some prior info from- I'm essentially gathering data from an observer's perspective and not from the actual source himself." a finger on her chin, breathing out.

"Sensible as it could be, the best method would be..."

Now having a crystal spear, she'd make many duplicates of it through temporal means, making a motion with her hand as they would be compressed- rather resized through time.

"Surrounding him with the same attack he used from earlier. On paper, I should get some sensible information about it. Random movements that I did with [Accelerate] allowed me some time to get freed from his earlier usage of the technique..."

Crashing through the side of the site, a slashing gap unexpected from an angle she didn't hear- a pseudo balcony made to reveal him.

"But on practice?" readying her spears at her person, "I hope this works..." muttered.

People ask "if you can live off of just pure meat, or pure liquid"

I say, Soy Sauce.
