Life Could Be a Dream

A promise once made cannot be broken, they said. But to those who choose to deal with the absolutes, how many more have they cast aside for their dream? Sacrifices are to be made, of course. Only so much can ever be set emotionally before logic takes place. Yet, for all that is and isn't, what would be left if there cannot be what could ever be?

I came back to let you know

Above another looming tower - one tall enough to see most of Nevada - stands Naikhee perching at one of its pillars hidden from any windows trying to get a good look at him. He instead laid his eyes on the explosive masterpiece he just made, noticing how some of the smoke seemed to not move on its own despite the wind telling it.

Up above, a pale silhouette flew upward and landed gracefully atop a pizza logo, like a figure skater doing four consecutive flips in the air. She glanced at the gash, somewhat worried about a certain someone finding out before covering the wound with her hand. Which wash, like circuits connecting, she quickens her natural healing process through…

"The innate ability to passively control time…" he muttered, "Even without a Daydream, she's not revealing much of her deck: only stoppage and acceleration…" Placing a hand on his chin, he glanced at the sky for answers about what strategies to use in this current situation. "Is she scared that I may use that info against her? Or is she assuming I'd have a backup?"

Suddenly, he leaped off to another building. "Either way, only one thing is for certain: she's holding herself back..."

"Hey, Ron, you making another paper airplane?" loud and heavy footsteps are heard, A chubby boy walks up to the presumed student, placing his pencil on their table with an eyebrow raised. "You know teach would get mad if she sees you making those again…" he held his hand out and attempted to snatch the paper project from Ron's delicate hands.

"No! This is mine!" shouts Ron, trying to push the boy away. "Just give me one!" yells the chubby kid, his eyes already starting to moisten just from the outright denial of this Ronny guy from sharing just one of their precious collectibles.

The weight of Chubby slowly managed to win this legendary tug of war, with Ron breaking into crocodile tears as the boy reached into the bag and grabbed more of the airplanes- around ten of them or so- before waddling off out of the classroom into the boy's bathroom.

It was small, with blue tiles adorned all over, a faint light, and the favorite smell of poignant sweat-sugar mixture. Walking towards the window, the boy tried conquering his fears only to realize he was ten stories up which caused him to yelp in slight fear.

"Hey! Give it back!"

What an annoying brat. He'd already taken this much from Ron and yet he still isn't giving up. Because of this stubbornness, Chubby threw all fifteen planes through the window and watched as they glide up and down the wind.

"WAHHHH!!!!"

Like a scuffed "go" signal, Nicole rushes forward and notices the flock of paper planes from a nearby window. She leaped up a few meters into the sky and had her two feet meet the flimsy planes, before quickly snatching the remaining and facing the building in front of her.

"Circles…" The plane seemingly goes faster as Nicole whizzes by frozen cars, "Each time he makes a circle, any surrounding object gets attracted [to it]..." She steered the plane and made it go west, not its initial direction of just straight and bellyflop onto the ground to be picked up by some annoyed bystander.

"No, there isn't gravity involved in his attacks, otherwise they would've affected me even on stopped time according to GenRel. The spiral design those circles make on activation is what 'caused' the said objects to be drawn towards it…"

With both assumptions in mind, they slowly met each other on the road, ready to take the examination. They gave short looks, stealing from each other as they stared in slow motion.

Naikhee runs down a wall of a building, with a pile of debris at hand before throwing them at his target. Nicole spun around in a clockwise manner before using the momentum gained and throwing a paper airplane, accelerating it to the point the air caught on fire.

Said flaming bullet won't last long enough, though, as she piles more pressure by using the leftover planes as a blade of sorts, kicking the planes she's standing on before jumping onto said debris which is stopped in time and closing in on Blondie who braces by giving a roundhouse kick.

She spun sideways to narrowly avoid the attack, but Blondie followed up by moving his body to make the missed kick connect with her wounded shoulder. Suddenly, two more planes went by Naikhee's shoulders, causing him to stagger. This, however, made dual circles as they rotated and hit Nicole midway through her movement, drilling through her body.

In one quick yet desperate motion, she stops time regardless delivers an accelerated punch to his side, and attempts to stab his legs to prevent any escape.

Unfortunately, there were multiple rotating holes on her behind, causing two large gashes as time resumed, and was knocked away to the right building, hitting the hard glass barrier as she fell to the pavement. Somehow, she managed to recover quickly and regenerate as she gathered her bearings.

At the same time, Blondie was also hit by the previous blow and, with a delayed reaction, got flung back several hundred meters only to have a couch made of air awaiting his descent, preventing him from being knocked away any further.

"She stopped time again right after the initial deactivation of it…" Naikhee touched his shoulder and caused the wound to close, eliminating any trace of damage being done. "So it's not just stopping on an area but also on specific objects. Hence, it could act as a sort of barrier…

How clever…" with some claps after such an amazing performance, heard throughout the world live streaming.

"So I was right…" She wiped the dust on her clothes and gave the circles around Naikhee a quick look. "It's not that the circles control gravity to affect time, but rather using the rotational force brought upon by the ability and using 'it' as a medium, hence why he can set up traps like that even when his physical body is unmoving. Either through sheer intuition or combative knowledge, he can keep a levelheaded attitude even when I go for the offensive. If it's the work of his innate ability, then I'd probably buy it."

Nicole grabbed the three paper planes that fell from the ground and gave them a good look.

"But if that's not the case… then he must be aware of my ability"

Yep! We're on the grind today! Taking some coffee ice cream for breakfast tomorrow!
