Chapter 8 The Attack

"Guildmaster Gallant, your brother has arrived." The pink haired receptionist said. "Thank you Miya." Gallant then saw his brother walk in with a smug look in his face as usual. "You may leave us." Miya then left as Gallant said. The Guildmaster and the brother sat down at a table in the Guildmaster's room. "Good morning, brother." Gallant said. "Yes, it is quite good." Trax says. There was a silence between them for a few seconds. "So, It had been a year since you said you'll make this guild official. And now you're back and you just sit there?" Gallant said. "Ohh, right. Honey Guild isn't an official guild yet, I forgot. Haha." Trax laughed. Gallant squinted his eyes, what does this mean even mean? "What do you mean brother!?" Gallant raised his voice. Trax finally looked at him. "My, have you not read the contract brother?" Trax said. "Oh I could if you could had shown me. What have you done to me this time!?" Gallant yelled. "You're a good man, brother. And you know what they say, the good men die first." Trax said. Gallant immediately pulled his blade out of his sheath. "Damn you once again, but if you don't tell me what you've done I will really end you this time. I'm tired of this game, I thought for once you'd help me for good!" Gallant pointed his blade at his neck. "Oh it's quite a simple contract. You just signed it to own it temporarily is all. I am the true owner of this guild! Hah! Think again. 3000 gold to slay 20 Slimes? Find 5 Slime Crystals to get 5000 gold? Hell, 3000 gold just to find a lost teddy? The only quests being done here are only local. I'M the one paying for everything in this guild. You're just there to be, an announcer of some sort." Trax told. Gallant grunted. "You never did anything Guildmaster like anyway, you just sit around and train, and it's all gonna be for nothing." Trax told. Gallant tried to argue back...until he dropped his blade. "It took me a very long time removing your name from every record in Greyhold. And now, with the help of the Magekeeps. Honey Guild will finally have a real leader. Gallant then collapsed to the ground, spat blood as he finally noticed the dagger blade poking out of his stomach. "And worse of all, you're out of touch." Trax then picked up Gallant's blade. Trax then heard the sounds of screaming and magic spells being casted outside. "What the...What the hell are they doing!?" Trax exclaimed. The cloaked mage that stabbed Gallant then holds out his ice wand. "Thank you for making this easier for us." The mage then casted an ice bullet through Trax's forehead, laying his corpse near his brother.

The adventurers from the guild are headed towards the Phish Town. "He must have went ahead." One adventurer answered, the adventure them heard the sound of a magic casting, then the sound of someone yelling in pain and a body drop. The adventurers then readied their weapons and we're in high alert. They now know something was up. They spotted mages with dark blue robes with identical emblems. Their emblem looked like a lion with horns and a bone as a neck. The mages then jumped out of the shadows with their staves and started casting quick succession of spells. The adventurers we no strangers to these attacks, they blocked the magics and closed the distance immediately as they cut down the mages.

Levy and Arkon are now walking around, with Finn flying above them and helping them look. They then see a blue robes mage running off. "Wasn't that the weird mage pestering Jacko the other day?" Arkon then whips out his staff. "Let us speak to him with aggression." Levy says as he too pulls out his bow.

"This is it, the plan...I just need to summon the Elemental before the spared adventurers get there!" Jason reminded himself as he ran. An swift arrow then landed right in front of him. He immediately turned to the two men. Yet, he noticed the Fairy Slime accompanying them first. "Oh! You're with the Slime Summoner! Haha, I've been following him you see!" Jason explained. "Something's fishy with this guy." Arkon said. Levy stepped to the man with his bow ready. "Jason, we are looking for the Flame Elemental. We have split to look for it." Levy told. Jason was clearly frustrated, his master told him that noone must witness him summoning the Flame Elemental. Therefore, these two must die. Jason then sighed as he then pulls out his staff with three orbs on them, then unleashing a beam of lightning at the two. Levy swiftly jumped out of the way, shooting two arrows at once with wind magic imbued, to home into the Mage's head. Jason then slammed the ground with the orbs of the staff to bring forth a stone wall to block the arrows. "What the hell is this guy's problem!?" Arkon yelled, hesitant to attack. "He struck first. I don't like this man anyway." Levy told. Arkon then nodded as he raised his own staff. "Fair enough!" He then points his staff's orb at the wall, firing small but quick Flame Bullets at the wall. Jason places his staff's orbs at the wall and then slowly reconstructed the stone around his staff in a shape of a scythe, as he then barely dodges the Flame Bullets, then he swings the Stone Scythe to the two men. Levy, noticing a big opening as he swung the scythe, he jumps as he was about to get hit and then takes out an arrow from his quiver and slashed Jason's neck. Arkon dodged the attack as well, then he followed Levy as he witnessed the blood gushing out of his neck. "S-sorry... master." Jason croaked as his body dropped. "A powerful weapon, with such a terrible user." Levy groaned. Arkon then picked up his staff. "Oh hell yeah! It's a triple orbed staff! Stone, Electric and water orbs! This guy was stacked!" Arkon celebrated. Finn then witnessed their victory and celebrated, now activating it's power of communication. As Levy was looting the Mage's body... something rolled out of his pouch. Levy turned to see what was dropped and suddenly noticed flames surrounding both Arkon and Levy. "What the hell!?" Levy then saw the source of the flames...it was the Flame Orb. Finn recorded their final screams before they were all burned alive.

The old mage, Eric Thorn, exits the tavern. Seeing his mages battling with the rest of the adventurers. "Such a waste of space for a peaceful village. Suddenly, a crossbow bold was shot, the mage holding up his hand with a Water Orb surgically attached to his wris to then create a bubble barrier. Upon further inspection, the crossbow bolt is actually a syringe. "Ohoh...Penny!" The old man's face beamed as he sees the Nurse, walking towards him with her crossbow and a bag of bolts and syringes. "You look like a skelly, asshole." She says. The mage then casted a large water hand as he then spun to make the hand hold down Vines', who was close to crushing the old man with his gauntlet. The Nurse then starts shooting and reloading immediately with her crossbow. The mage then holds up his other hand with a Stone Orb attached to his wrist, summoning a wall. The wall then forms into a large stone fist being thrown at the Nurse. As he does this Vines roared as he broke through the water hand and landed a direct hit at the Mage's chest. Instead of being defeated instantly, the body disappears in smoke as he reappears in another area, near his other mages. Nurse Petal dodged the early stone fist and hid behind the casted stone. The mages then started casting bullet spells of different elements at both the Tavernkeep and the Nurse. Vines blocked the hits with his gauntlets, then soon the mages are being shot in their heads by syringe bolts."You're all useless!" The mage yelled as he then reveals his skinny legs having Wind Orbs attached to both his legs, using them to cast a tornado from his feet and making him levitate. The tornado affects both his allies and the other adventurers, along with an innocent building. "Petal! Can you get a clear shot!?" Vines yelled as the mage turned both his arms into a large water hand and a large stone hand, about to clap with Vines in the middle of it. Petal ran to the side of the mage, then multiple mages came to attack her with their spells. Petal groaned as she then uses a syringe on herself. "This is gonna fucking hurt you bitches!" She yelled as all the magic attacks hit her, she was hurt but she then proceeds to place her crossbow back into her bag and equipped two scalpels, then she dashed towards the mages, taking attacks without flinching and cutting them all down. Vines then landed both the palms of his gauntlets, holding the two magical hands to prevent himself from being crushed. "To think you're still this tough! No matter, you're all going to die, and we Magekeeps shall continue the rival the steel fangs of Greyhold!" The insane mage then starts actually crushing Vines' gauntlets. The man then looked up at the mage with a grin, as he then clicked the buttons of his gauntlets to remove them from his arms, then kicking the ground and roll back right before the two magic hands clap together, crushing the gauntlets and missing the man. The mage groaned in annoyance, as he then used the tornado beneath his feet to accelerate towards him to smash another stone fist towards him. Vines quickly dodges as the first lands near him, then he tears the stone from the fist and then throws a chunk of it towards the mage. The mage then gasps as the stone passes through the water hand and hits him directly at his fragile shoulder, being ripped apart instantly, the water arm then dissipating. "Penny! Hit me with your Rush Shot!" Vines yelled, cracking his fists, seeing the stone arm besides him being lifted up. "How was your throw...stronger than a damn bolt!?" The mage groaned as he then makes his fist crush into smaller pieces, being then barraged towards Vines. As she threw a scalpel to a mage's staff orb while then using her crossbow to finish off that mage with a headshot. She then shoots a syringe bolt towards Vines' back. Vines then felt a rush if energy in his body as he then starts punching through the rocks to prevent his vital parts to get hit. "This is bullshit!" The mage screamed. Vines then jumped up very high, through the tornado as he then grabs the legs of the mage, ripping them apart while his body enduring the strong winds almost ripping his own body apart. Fortunately, the winds stop as the legs were ripped off, landing Vines back to the ground with the final remains of the mage lands in front of him. "The plan...was perfect...my enhancements...my enhancements!" The mage turned to crawl away with his last remaining limb, before having his robe then being ripped apart by Vines. "Damn you! DAMN YOU!" Eric croaked. Vines wanted to speak, but he spar out blood...the effects of the Rush Shot wearing off. He then falls to his knees, while Petal rushed to his side. She then turned to the mage, laughing at Vines' as he fell, before shooting a bolt at his head. "Should have killed you a long time ago." She said as she then feels Vines' heart, sighing in relief. "Let's get you back big guy." She says...as she barely lifts him up. She then looked at the town, seeing many remaining adventurers celebrating, some noticing and then helping Petal lift him up. It took 3 people, excluding the Nurse, to at least drag him.
