Where is he? (1)

Zoey arrived at ASC late because Happy has downhearted since yesterday morning, she's worried that Happy might be ill or something. She first dropped her to the veterinarian to have her check.

"Good morning, Polly." Zoey greeted the receptionist who was assisting the applicants. "Good morning Ma'am Z. You're late, was there a problem?" Polly asked. Zoey looked relax and shake her head to answer Polly's remark. "Nope, I sent my dog first to the have her checkup that's why I'm running late. HAHA!" Although Zoey's worried to her baby dog, she doesn't want that to affect her day in the office.

She still managed to attract attention from the male applicants and compliments from the girls that saw her going inside the building. "Wow! That lady is so beautiful. I really need to be in this company by hook or by crook." Said by one applicant.

"Are we sure that this is a respective company, that we are applying for? And not a modeling agency or artist network?" At the back of Polly's head, 'hahaha! If ever you guys see the director, your jaws will drop down in an instant.'

Neither did they all know that one applicant with a scar on his face was observing Zoey from afar. That applicant has an ill intention in entering the company.

"Okay. Does everyone have their own nameplate and application form? I am going to call you one by one. Proceed to the left side of the hall and wait inside the conference room. HR officials will do the interviewing. Is that all right?"

All applicants chorally answered Polly with "Yes."

Zoey entered their office, and to her surprise, Nickel wasn't there. "It's already ten in the morning. Where is he?" When she went out of her unit with Happy, she saw Nickel's door closed and thought that maybe he already went out early. "Maybe he is in a meeting right now."

Zoey started her day with her usual routine. Check the papers and reports on her table, approving and signing financial reports and monitoring the cash flow for the month. Nothing special on this day expect that Nickel didn't advise her about his agenda. He always sends her a message whenever he will attend a meeting or an event. Whether he will be late or not, Zoey will always know it before she starts her day. But today is different, not even a single hi was sent to her since Saturday.

Before the day ends, Zoey checked her phone for the nth time. Waiting if Nickel already sent her a message without her noticing it but until this time her phone is as empty as it was when she left it inside her drawer.

She picked up her landline and dialed of May. "Hey! Hi, May. May I ask did you know where is Director Fuentes." She paused for a while and think of a better reason why she is asking him. "I have an important report to give him and I need him to sign it as soon as possible." Hopefully, this reason of hers is enough for May.

"Oh, I'm sorry Zoey. I didn't receive anything from the Director. Maybe he is in an important deal. I don't know where he is. I'm sorry. I will let you know once he made a call or send me a message." May replied.

She was left with nothing other than contacting the person itself but because of what had happened last Friday night, Zoey decided to wait until the man reappears before her.

Zoey left the building and went straight to the veterinarian where she left Happy and lick up her baby dog. The veterinarian told her that nothing is wrong with her pet. Happy wasn't coping with the extreme weather that is why she started becoming downhearted. "Let her drink a lot of water and make sure that her place is a well-ventilated area. Even dogs can experience heat stroke."

Zoey thanked the doctor and went out of the establishment. The mother and daughter tandem next went to buy an air cooler for Happy; Zoey thought that using air condition will also bad for her so buying her own air cooler will be okay.

"Madam, would you like to deliver it to your house or not? You can avail our delivery and installation services." Says the cashier personnel.

"Is that so? Okay please deliver this into my unit in Serenity Condominium." Zoey wrote her address in the delivery sheet and pass it to the lady assisting her purchase.

A man approached her and said, "Madam do you want to come along with us going to your address. We can deliver it tonight as we have no other delivers piled up."

"No, thanks. You can tailgate the cab I'm riding. I prefer to have my own cab. Thank you anyway." Zoey politely approached the man.

After paying Happy's air cooler, Zoey hailed a cab. The delivery truck drives closely to Zoey's and followed them.

They arrived at the building and Zoey signed the name and the purpose of the man in entering the building. Serenity Condominium has indeed strict security for all its residents. No one is allowed to enter the building without any purposes or approval.

The man with a black cap entered the elevator and followed Zoey towards her floor. When the elevator halt that the exact floor where the two lives. Zoey went out and opened her door.

The man installed the cooler and immediately left afterward.

"Thank you, mister." Zoey guided the man out the building as she still has to sign again, verifying that the man already left the building. Before she entered her room she checks first Nickel's door.

"It seems like someone is inside the door handle is cold. Looks like the air condition is on." Zoey speculates but never verified her thoughts because she still doesn't check if Nickel is inside. After learning that maybe Nickel was inside, Zoey went into her own room.
