In between, Hayato found a woman, who helped him in taking the girl to the Hospital. He wanted to leave but the woman didn't let him go since he was the one who brought her. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought of the situation, and Hayato looked at the bag which had two bowls of Ramen.
He looked at the woman, who also stayed here and with a flicker in his eyes, he said, "If you want, you can leave."
"It's okay. I brought her with you and after giving the words and knowing her situation, I will leave." She said as she heard the words, and Hayato nodded at her.
He noticed the colour around her, and it was dull. Even though she looked serious, Hayato noticed the dead look in her eyes, and said, "I am Hayato,"
"Tsumiko," Tsumiko said as she stared at him and then at the bag. She could smell the scent of food and with a thoughtful look on her face, she said, "You can have your dinner outside, I will call you."
"No, I already had my dinner. This was for later in the night."
"Hmm? Working in Night?" Tsumiko said with a hum and she saw Hayato nodding awkwardly. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Then, Can I have it? I was about to go and have my dinner."
"Hmm? Sure, here! If you need, you can eat both." Hayato said as he passed the bag to Tsumiko, who took it while thanking him. In the whole chat, Hayato noticed no fluctuations in her emotions and it's like he was talking to a dead corpse.
'She has no light in her eyes,' Hayato thought in his mind and wondered what she went through to have such dull eyes.
'Hope she isn't from ROOT,' Hayato said in his heart, and he could already imagine all ROOT members having no emotions. Without any change in emotion, Tsumiko walked outside since they were inside the hospital, and in the garden, she ate the Ramen.
'Why did I help him?' She thought in her mind and wondered why she helped someone she didn't know.
'It's been quite some time since I am eating food from outside. The taste is good,' She said in her heart as she slurped the Ramen, and she didn't notice that she had eaten both bowls.
'Was I that hungry?' Tsumiko thought in her mind, and she put the bowl in the bag. Wiping her face and washing her hands, she looked at the bag with a flicker in her eyes and walked inside.
There, she saw a nurse talking with Hayato, and she read their lips.
"The patient is unconscious because of malnutrition, and low chakra in the body. She will have to rest for a week while eating nourished food or her situation might worsen."
"Miss, I just found her lying on the ground and---, Never mind, I understand." Hayato was about to say that he didn't have anything to do with the situation but in between, he paused as he remembered why a 10-11-year-old girl would be malnourished.
'Either she is an orphan, or her parents aren't able to feed her. Since she could use chakra, she must require a lot more food and intake of nutrients.'
The nurse's eyes flickered for a second and she turned around. Her expression changed as she looked at the woman she was familiar with and she walked to her.
"Tsumi, how are you doing? It's been a long time," The nurse said, and she saw Tsumiko nodding with a bright smile on her face.
'Fake,' Hayato thought in his heart as he looked at the smile and sat down on the seat. He planned on waiting for the girl to wake up and know her situation.
If she was an orphan and had nothing to do, he could hire her since he would need people for his restaurant and future. If she had something else to do, he would just report the situation to the Police or authorities and leave.
He sat down on the seat with his eyes closed and Hayato imagined the plot for his novel, and how he would proceed in future. A few minutes later, he opened his eyes and saw Tsumiko staring at him.
'I didn't even notice her arriving and didn't hear the sound of steps. She is definitely a Ninja.'
Hayato thought in his mind and he heard Tsumiko say, "Can you tell me where you live? I will give these bowls after washing them."
"No, you don't have to. They are from a shop I am familiar with and I will send them back in the morning." Hayato said while extending his hand, and a moment later, she passed the bag to him.
"Which Shop?" "Ichiraku Ramen,"
"Oh! They make delicious food," "Hmm, They do."
"She told me about the situation and it seems we have to wait for her to wake up," Tsumiko said with the colour around her changing a bit and then it returned to normal.
"Hmm, since you have told the information, you can leave if you want."
"And why would you stay?" Tsumiko didn't answer, instead asked a question, She saw Hayato sighing at her words and said, "If she is an orphan and has nothing to do, I will hire her for work when she has recovered."
"If she has someone to care for, I will report and leave everything to the authorities. And Tsumiko-San, why are you staying since your work is done? Do you suspect something?"
Hayato said with his eyes narrowed and looked into Tsumiko's eyes. They both stared for some time, and Tsumiko shook her head.
"I don't suspect anything, and I had similar thoughts. Let's wait for her to wake up, and then she will decide."
Hayato nodded at her words and looked at the door with a flicker in his eyes. He wondered if he should borrow a pen and some papers from them, and try drawing in meantime.
"By the way, Tsumiko-San, are you Ninja?"
"Retired, why?"
"Nothing, I was just curious since I didn't hear the sounds of footsteps and the fact that you were familiar with the nurse."
"You are quite perceptive," Tsumiko said while looking at him for a second and said, "You are civilian, right?"
"Hmm,"
"You do know that she can use chakra and is a potential Ninja. Are you okay with getting involved in the situation?" Tsumiko asked with a flicker in her eyes, and Hayato noticed the change in emotions.
'She is curious,' He thought in his mind, and said, "I just saw an unconscious girl and did what I felt like. As for identity, I didn't care while helping her."
Tsumiko didn't notice any lie in his words and she nodded at him. She wondered when was the last time she heard simple and pure words, and a sigh escaped her lips.
"By the way, Tsumiko-San, why did you help? Many passed through and I even saw some turning their heads away. But, you helped me instead. Why?"
"Do I need a reason to help others?" Tsumiko asked. She saw Hayato shaking his head and he said, "You don't need a reason to help others, but you seem like the type who only minds their own business. That's why I was curious."
"Why would you think?" Tsumiko asked with her emotion changing, and Hayato could feel some irritation in her voice.
"Ah! It's because of your eyes," He said with a flicker in his eyes and saw her flinching at his words.
"I won't say anymore since this is not a place to talk much," Hayato said while noticing the grey colour around her changing and turning to a bit white. The dull look in her eyes receded back, and Hayato saw some light appearing in them.
"What about now? How do I seem?" Tsumiko said but she saw no change in Hayato's expression.
"Fake, same as the smile you gave before," Hayato said with a sigh and Tsumiko paused at his words.
"You are really perceptive," She said with a flicker in her eyes, and her eyes turned dull again, but the white colour around her increased a bit.
Hayato didn't say anything and got up. She saw him leaving and a few minutes later, he came back with some papers and a pen in his hand. He looked at her for a moment and then turned back to the papers.
A curious look appeared on Tsumiko's face as she saw him doing something on the paper, and from the hand movements, she understood that he was drawing something.
Sometime later, the nurse from before returned again and she nodded at Tsumiko. She went inside the room to check on the patient again, and Tsumiko looked at the room with a flicker in her eyes.
Hayato also put down his drawing and waited for the nurse to come out. Soon she walked outside and said, "You two can come in."
Hayato got up and walked in first and Tsumiko followed him. She took a glance at the drawing and then walked inside with him.
They looked at the girl who had woken up, and when she saw them, she lowered her head and said, "Thank you for helping me."
"No problems," Hayato said with a smile on his face, and Tsumiko nodded in return. The nurse looked at Tsumiko for a second and she said something with her eyes. Tsumiko waved her hand, and the nurse rolled her eyes.
"So, do you have anyone we should inform about you?" The nurse asked the girl, who shook her head.
"Then, do you study in the Academy?"
"I dropped out,"
"No one to inform?"
"No one. Doctor, tell me everything and what I have to do." The girl said with no change in her expression and Hayato inwardly sighed. The girl's emotions were similar to Tsumiko's and Hayato said, "You just need to rest for now. Miss, let's go outside and talk about fees and other things."
"No, you have already helped enough. I can't ask for any more help." The girl denied it as she heard the words and she looked at Hayato. She saw him sighing and said, "What do you think you can do with your malnourished body?"
"You fell on the road but what if you lost consciousness in an alley or if someone else with ill intentions found you? Do you know what could happen to you?"
Hayato asked with a frown on his face and she lowered her head at his words. The nurse's eyes gleamed as she heard Hayato's words and she understood that he was a good guy.
"Tsumiko-San, do you have anything to say?" Hayato turned to Tsumiko, who had been silent since the start. She stared at Hayato for a second and said, "What work were you thinking of providing? If it's okay, then she can work with you in future, or I will take her under me."
"Girl, since you don't have anyone else, why don't you come with me? I am the same but in a better situation as you, and I can take care of you."
"Why?" The girl asked with some emotion in her eyes. She didn't understand why they would help her, a stranger and if they had motives behind their words.
"Just because I can, and I want to, that's it. She is the same, and you don't need to worry about anything else. I don't know much about her so I don't know how you will live with her but if you follow me, I won't feed you for free."
"You will work with me and get your salary while you have a place to live but that is only after you have recovered. Before that, you don't have to worry about anything and I will pay."
"If you feel bad, then just work hard in future. That's all I want, and I can surely say that you won't have a bad life."
Hayato said with a gentle smile on his face. He could just leave all the matter and drop everything on someone else but he didn't since his conscience wouldn't accept it.
He has received help from others and he knows how to return favours and help others.
