Legends Reborn Online

“Some stories are known as myths or legends, while some are called history. But, what happens when those very same stories you thought were mere legends, were a part of our history all along?” The narrator started in a deep voice. “The world is in terrible danger, and the only ones with the powers to stop it are the characters from myths and legends, but they are long gone.” “Find the lost bloodlines of the progenitors and revive their species from extinction and you will have the power to accomplish what they can’t, in their absence.” The video then faded to a black screen before showing the words, “Legends Reborn Online” in big gold letters. The narrator then continued, “Find the lost bloodlines and save the world. Legends Reborn Online launches on June 1st, 2073 at 12 am.” This trailer made Enzo Knight and his friend Ivan extremely excited. They both love playing video games, so getting the new DIVR headgear to play Legends Reborn Online wasn’t even a question. —————————— Thank you to anyone who decides to support the novel.

Unique Quest?

Enzo decided to explore, seeing as no one else is currently in the house with him.

He first moved to the bookshelf and pulled a random book out.

"The Art of War by Sun Tzu.

Isn't this a real world book?" Enzo mumbled.

While he most definitely hadn't read this particular book before he has heard of it as it is very popular.

'Might as well take it and read it later.'

The book might end up helping him a lot later on in the game depending on how the world develops around the players. In most MMORPGs players would eventually participate in wars, whether that be against other players or against monsters. So, having knowledge like the kind offered in "The Art of War" might come in handy.

Enzo put the book in his inventory and moved onto the next book.

The next book was titled, "Survival Tactics by Bear Grails".

Enzo placed that book in his inventory as well and moved on.

He continued like this for over 30 minutes, reading each title and putting it into his inventory. He gained many books that might be useful or just interesting to read. There were things like "The Dragon Tamer by Hick Oap" and "Beast Encyclopedia" that Enzo knew were extremely valuable. He continued like this until he got to a book in the middle of the shelf second from the bottom.

Enzo tried to pull the book out, but it got caught on something and snapped back into place.

'Hmm?'

He didn't have to wonder what happened for long, because immediately afterwards he was startled by a sound.

Rumble!

Enzo jumped back in fright as the bookcase started moving to the side.

"Secret entrance… Nice…"

He obviously figured out what was going on very quickly, so he waited for the room to reveal itself patiently.

The bookcase didn't take longer than a few seconds to fully move, and in the wall behind it was another door.

Enzo opened the door and looked into the secret room.

It was a small room, no bigger than a walk-in closet, that was lit by the same light contraptions as the rest of the house. It was mostly empty other than the large chest sitting in the middle of the floor.

Enzo's eyes gained an excited glint in them as he saw the treasure chest.

He scurried over to the chest and practically slid to his knees as he moved to open it.

The rusted lock that was supposed to keep the treasure chest tight crumbled apart the second Enzo touched it, so he had no problems opening it.

Sitting in the dramatically large treasure chest were only a few different items. There were 5 rings, 5 necklaces, and a book.

The rings and necklaces were all extremely simple in design. The rings were made of polished silver and had no carvings or other jewels on them. The necklaces were of the same polished silver as the rings and were all cuban link chains.

Enzo picked up one of the rings in one hand and a necklace in the other to inspect them.

He then looked over to the necklace.

[Symbiote Necklace]

[Unbound]

[unbonded]

Instead of worrying about something he knew nothing of, Enzo decided to just put the jewelry into his inventory and worry about it later.

Enzo then looked at the beautiful book. It was a relatively large red book with gold lettering on the front and intricate gold designs all over the spine and front cover.

The golden title read, "The Apex Predator by K.B.".

Enzo moved his hand to pick up the book but before he could open it…

Ding!

[The great Dragon Slayer was not always great. He rose to power through hard work, experience, and tenacity. However, the one thing he failed in was finding a good successor. He could never find someone worthy enough for his teachings. So, at the end of his long and arduous life he decided to just leave his legacy all in one chest for a random person to find in the future. He wasn't going to be alive to see it, so why would he care who found his legacy?]

[You have discovered the opportunity to complete a unique quest. Would you like to accept? Yes/No]

Enzo pressed "Yes" as fast as he could. There was absolutely no reason for Enzo to even consider pressing no as he was able to quickly understand what this unique quest could potentially offer him.

Ding!

[New Quest: Legacy of the Hunter (Unique Quest)]

[Legacy of the Hunter Part 1: Before the Dragon Slayer publicly began his rise to fame he had many personal accomplishments that many people never knew about. Follow in his footsteps and achieve your own private accomplishments without telling anyone about them.]

[Obtain 1k gold coins: 0/1,000]

[Kill 500 monsters by yourself: 0/500]

'This shouldn't be too hard.' Enzo thought, at least before he read the last accomplishment…

[Become friends with a noble: 0/1]

[Rewards: Unique Class]

'That's what I get for speaking too soon I guess…'

Enzo had no idea how to go about meeting anyone with nobility, much less how to become friends with them. However, at least the reward made it seem worth it.

As far as Enzo knew, there were no talks by anyone else about unique classes or anything like that. Enzo didn't even know they were a feature in the game up until now, so he assumed he would be one of the first with a unique class.

Enzo put the book and then the whole treasure chest into his inventory before leaving the secret room. He then continued to take all of the books from the bookshelves in the room and then left after giving it one last glance to see if there was anything valuable.

The rest of the room was just dirty furniture and dust, so he left the house and then swam back to shore.

Thanks for all the support! We are only a few power stones from retaking the 4th place spot in the power stones rankings for the WPC contest now after being down by almost 40 power stones! So, again thank you guys so much. The WPC ends in a few days but even if this novel doesn't win anything I will keep updating it just as frequently.
