Legends Reborn Online

“Some stories are known as myths or legends, while some are called history. But, what happens when those very same stories you thought were mere legends, were a part of our history all along?” The narrator started in a deep voice. “The world is in terrible danger, and the only ones with the powers to stop it are the characters from myths and legends, but they are long gone.” “Find the lost bloodlines of the progenitors and revive their species from extinction and you will have the power to accomplish what they can’t, in their absence.” The video then faded to a black screen before showing the words, “Legends Reborn Online” in big gold letters. The narrator then continued, “Find the lost bloodlines and save the world. Legends Reborn Online launches on June 1st, 2073 at 12 am.” This trailer made Enzo Knight and his friend Ivan extremely excited. They both love playing video games, so getting the new DIVR headgear to play Legends Reborn Online wasn’t even a question. —————————— Thank you to anyone who decides to support the novel.

Tutorial Dungeon (2)

Enzo kept his eyes open but stopped moving to just allow the water current to drag him down the big hole that appeared in the floor after Juliet pulled the lever.

Once they entered the hole, everything went dark. The crystals that were lighting up the main part of the cave were nowhere to be seen.

Luckily, Enzo and Juliet didn't have to hold their breath for much longer.

Enzo suddenly had the sensation that he was falling, not floating.

"Ahhhhh!"

Juliet let out a loud scream as she realized the same.

Crash!

"Oof!"

Enzo landed flat on his back on the cold hard ground.

Luckily the fall was only about 5 to 6 feet or they could have been seriously injured.

"Hahhhh. Hahhhh"

Enzo gasped as he tried to regain the air that was knocked out of his lungs.

"Ugh… You alright Enzo?"

"Hahhh. Hahhh."

He tried to respond but couldn't

"Enzo?"

Juliet became frantic, but before she could fully freak out, "I'm alright. I'm alright."

"Oh. I thought you were injured for a second."

"Sorry, I got the air knocked out of my lungs from the fall."

"It's okay, you don't have to apologize."

Juliet gave Enzo a hand to help him up.

"Where are we?" He mumbled.

The new area looked like another dungeon chamber, but this one was different. While the first chamber looked like a normal cave, this one looked more like nature trapped in an enclosure. There were trees and grass inside this new chamber.

The trees had fireflies fluttering through their leaves, offering light to the new Fae inhabitants. Somehow, the fireflies were shining light just as bright as a real world light bulb would, so it was much easier for Enzo to see in this room.

However, they didn't have much time to appreciate their surroundings.

"Grrrrrr!"

A low growl came from behind the trees accompanied by a slight shaking of the earth.

"Finally, some action!" Enzo shouted.

He unsheathed his katana and got in position to strike whatever monster was going to appear from the trees.

A very large wolf stepped out into the clearing Enzo and Juliet were standing in.

[Guardian Wolf (Boss)]

[Level 10]

[HP: 4,000/4,000]

It had striking gray fur that fluttered as if the wind was blowing although none could be felt. The beast's eyes were pitch black as if light were not allowed to enter them. Its fangs were pearly white and dripping with saliva. The claws were almost as black as its eyes and looked like they were sharpened with the best whetstone available. All of this added on to the fact that the wolf was at least 8 feet tall made for a very scary monster.

"His paws and his neck." Enzo said.

Juliet nodded her head. He didn't need to say anything else for her to understand that he was giving her the weaknesses of the monster.

"Grrrr!"

The beast let out another snarl before charging towards Enzo.

'Huh? Usually they go for Juliet first, I guess this one isn't sexist.'

Enzo dodged the monster's attempt at biting him by jumping to the side. He swung his katana horizontally, slicing off a chunk of flesh from the wolf's leg.

His sword cut through the tough skin of the monster like butter. If Enzo had a weapon that was normal for his level, it would have been much harder to cut the skin, but luckily he had a rare ranked weapon already.

Juliet wasn't going to sit by as her friend was attacked. She dashed under the wolf and stabbed at its throat.

However, the beast wasn't just going to allow her to stab at one of its weaknesses.

The wolf twisted its neck away causing Juliet to strike the side of the beast instead.

She pulled her daggers back and ran away quickly.

The wolf, seeing this, decided not to counter attack her, but to focus back on Enzo.

The monster turned around and sliced at Enzo with its razor sharp claws.

Enzo brought his katana up, jumped to the side of the paw, and sliced it off with a quick downward strike.

"Awooooo!"

The beast howled in pain.

Juliet dashed towards its neck again and stabbed her daggers through, this time hitting her mark.

-1000

She then sliced her daggers across the neck, causing even more damage.

The beast still wasn't dead, so Enzo slashed his katana multiple times across its torso as fast as he could.

The beast suddenly jumped back, stopping their assault.

However, this only gained the wolf an extra second or two of life. Juliet and Enzo quickly followed and continued to dice up the wolf like they were preparing a steak for dinner.

[You have killed the Guardian Wolf (Boss)]

[Congratulations! You have completed the Tutorial Dungeon!]

[You will be transported out of the dungeon in 1 minute.]

"Well… That was easy…" Enzo scratched the back of his head in confusion.

"Yeah, but Enzo, remember it is just a tutorial dungeon."

"True."

The whole fight lasted less than 5 minutes, so it was a very quick one in comparison to the other high leveled or dangerous beasts Enzo and Juliet faced in the past.

The monster was definitely much easier than the boss monsters of other dungeons in the game would be in the future, but there were also other factors that made the fight so easy for them.

Their extraordinary weapons and their amazing teamwork were also a large part of the reason for their easy win.

Enzo quickly looted the monster before they were forced out of the dungeon.

[+10 silver coins]

[+1 Large Wolf Skin]

[+10 Large Wolf Claws]

He then split the loot evenly with Juliet like usual.

After the one minute timer reached zero, a bright light assaulted their eyes before they were teleported out of the dungeon.

Once Enzo was able to open his eyes, he looked at the new system messages.
