Tenshi and Hibari were at a grave and crying bitterly. Tenshi hugged Hibari and cried loudly as she held him, crying silently, smiling "Don't cry, Tenshi… Daddy is a big hero for the village. Hokage-sama said that his information saved countless lives! Just… Don't cry, okay?"
Tenshi's lips quivered and he sniffled, nodding tearfully. Hibari bent down and hugged him tightly, he could feel her body shaking. Tenshi hugged her tightly and said gently, "I'll protect you, mommy." Hibari cried and tightened her arms around him, saying "My big strong boy, Mommy believes you. Protect Mommy, okay?"
Tenshi cried silently, biting his lips as he nodded.
They were visited by the Third Hokage himself, he gave his condolences and handed Hibari Keigo's pension. Hibari thanked him and wiped her tears as Hiruzen sighed, "It's been hard on you, Hibari. If you need anything, just ask." Hibari nodded wordlessly and he nodded, leaving.
Tenshi watched him go sadly, but there was a faint feeling that repulsed him about the Third Hokage… It felt like he was trying to… snatch his mother?
Just the thought filled his head with rage.
He quickly calmed down and hugged Hibari's legs, saying softly "We don't need help, Mommy…" Hibari rubbed his head and smiled gently. Tenshi hugged her tightly and as the years passed, he never left Hibari's side.
He stayed with her all day long, even hugging her to sleep.
He was very scared of that lecherous Third Hokage and there was an inexplicable disgust coming from his heart.
Thankfully, Hibari stayed with him, continuing to read for him although he didn't need it. Sometimes she would look at the door as she was reading and a sad smile would grace her gentle features.
Just this look made Tenshi's heart ache.
3 years after that, the Third War ended
1 year later, the Kyuubi attacked Konoha.
Tenshi had a much bigger problem… Hibari's physical state was worsening. He had overheard his father talking about her illness and how Tenshi really seemed to have saved her life, like a real miracle!
But now… Hibari coughed frequently and seemed very frail. But she continued smiling for him. Tenshi looked at her worriedly. The attack from the Kyuubi opened up a lot of space for residential and commercial properties.
Hibari had decided that she would use the money that got from Keigo's pension to buy a plot of land. She hired a construction team to build a little storefront; she was considering turning it into a bookstore.
Tenshi was happy and held her hand as they walked around the newly built store front. Everything was made of wood and very beautiful. Hibari liked wings and feather patterns, so the wood had many ornate carvings of birds and feathers.
She smiled and coughed gently, "Isn't this beautiful, Tenshi?" Tenshi smiled gently and held her hand, saying softly, "Mhm… I like the feather carvings." Hibari stroked his cheek and smiled warmly, "My little angel likes it, Mommy's very happy." Tenshi smiled gently and leaned on her, "As long as Mommy's happy… It doesn't matter where we are."
Hibari caressed his palm and inspected the store entirely, nodding with a smile, "Everything is perfect!" as she coughed with a gentle smile. Tenshi watched her smile and felt happy in his heart, he had a bit of personal touch in the exterior look.
Rather than a cloth door and wood bars for windows, he had a wooden door with glass windows.
It was very pretty, there were even tables and chairs by the windows so that you could look outside at any time.
The Bookstore was unnamed for the moment.
As the days passed by, Hibari managed the bookstore as Tenshi helped her.
They didn't get very many customers, however Hibari didn't mind. She didn't set up the bookstore to make money. It was more to hold memories.
Tenshi cleaned the wood tables and chairs, dusting the bookshelves as Hibari sorted the books and handled any customers. She was always very gentle and smiling softly, maybe because of her, they received a few regular customers, who would come and read in a calm environment before leaving later.
Hibari made it essentially free to come and read in peace, but if they wanted to check out a book they had to pay.
Tenshi always liked watching her put the books away, she would smile so gently. She was his beautiful mother!
Unfortunately…
2 years later
Tenshi was 16 years old.
He was holding Hibari's hand in the hospital, crying profusely.
Hibari smiled gently as she always had, saying "Don't cry, Tenshi. Mommy's going to see Daddy. I'm happy to have had you in my life…" Tenshi cried bitterly, saying softly "But… I don't want you to go… You haven't read enough books for me yet…"
Hibari laughed softly, looking at him with gentle eyes, "I was born with this sickness, baby. From the moment you were born, I felt that every day was a miracle. I wasn't supposed to survive giving birth… But my little angel saved my life and brought nothing but joy and happiness to me. Your father was very happy to have you, he would say every night that it was a miracle. A little angel given to me by God…"
She smiled gently and rubbed his palms softly, "Promise Mommy that you won't change, Tenshi. Mommy only wants to see my happy and gentle little angel while she watches you, okay?" Tenshi cried and forced a smile, nodding softly. Hibari smiled warmly, caressing his cheek as she said with tears rolling down her cheeks, "Don't forget to eat three meals a day… And be kind with others, okay? Don't judge people by the way they look but be a little cautious of strangers… Don't be bullied and remember to brush your teeth…"
She sniffled and smiled gently, "Mommy has to go now, okay?" Tenshi gripped her hands and cried, saying with a sob "I-I love you, mommy." Hibari smiled happily and replied slowly, "Mommy loves you so much, baby… More than anything in the world…"
Tenshi felt her arm get heavier and cried loudly, holding her hand tightly as he bawled his eyes out.
A few days later
Tenshi wiped his eyes and cried in front of two graves. His lips quivered and he placed down flowers at the graves, forcing a gentle smile.
After he left, he came to the bookstore. It still didn't have a name and had been closed for 6 months as Hibari's illness worsened.
Tenshi looked at the key and opened the store, walking inside and sitting down on a chair, he cried and wiped his eyes over and over again.
Just as he was crying, a gentle ringing voice echoed in his mind.
