20 Establishment of a new age

"You want to what!?" shouted the general. He had nearly fallen out of his chair when James had told him his plan. After their first encounter with the three ability users, more and more people were found until televisions displayed messages to steer away from people with the bracelets, necklaces, or any other accessories with a shining gemstone. Some countries captured the people and studied them but many died during the experiments or escaped capture and went into hiding. This gave Jack an idea.

"If we track them down, we can help them control and use their abilities for good." said Jack. The general placed his elbows on his desk, rested his chin on his hands, and donned a thinking expression. He then looked at the three in front of him and sat back in his chair.

"I have a few questions about this." said finally said.

"Go on." said James, leaning forward in his own chair.

"How are you going to deal with the less willing ones?" asked the general. James thought for a bit and then his face lit up.

"Your technology, the tech you used to clear my mother's memories. If we could modify it to alter a person's thought process and make them more docile. After that we'll teach them how to use their abilities." proposed James. The general looked from Jack, to James, and then to William.

"If you can make the changes, I'll see what I can do. However, where are you going to house all of these people. Charles Xavier had a mansion, the Avengers had a massive complex, and the Justice League had that massive Hall of Justice. All the government has left is a warehouse." said the general. James sighed in agitation. Then William spoke up.

"If we get Liam and Izzy, they can uses their abilities to build onto the warehouse and sort out circuitry. I'll sort out plumbing and Jack and James can track down the targets. How's that?" asked William. And with that it was settled. The government would modify their satellites to track Asurian energy signatures, a message is sent to Liam and Izzy asking them to come to earth and James and Jack set out to find those with abilities.

William threw himself onto his bed. The government had supplied the three of them with a caravan near the warehouse. It was small with a kitchen, a bunk bed used by James and Jack, a pull out bed used by William, a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower, and enough food to last them about three months. Suddenly, there was a 'clank' outside. William brought out his trident and walked to the door. He kicked it open, jumped out, and thrust in the direction of the sound. The tip of the middle prong stopped millimetres away from Cynthinia's face as she stood frozen in fear. They looked each other in the eyes without saying a word. Cynthinia's heart was beating rapidly. She then darted away into the night. For about four metres before William tripped her over with some water from a water bottle and hit her head - knocking her out.

She awoke duck taped to a garden chair. William was sat opposite in another garden chair with his trident stuck in the ground next to him.

"Care to explain what you're doing walking around her? This is an authorised personnel only area and I have no idea who you are which means you're not authorised personnel." said William putting his hand on his trident. Cynthinia thought frantically.

"My name is ... Caitlin." lied Cynthinia. William looked at her for a moment then spoke.

"Ok, Caitlin, what are you doing here?" asked William.

"I heard from a friend that you and you're friends were looking for people with abilities. So I thought I should come here to get help." replied Cynthinia. She tensed and walked as William thought for a while before getting up with his trident. He walked over to her sliced the duck tape, releasing her.

Cynthinia rubbed her wrists and watched William walk into the caravan. He then popped head back out again.

"Are you coming in or not?" he asked. Cynthinia quickly got up and walked inside. Her heart still beating rapidly.
